I’m sure you’ve heard of Vectronix and you’ve probably heard of Safran. If Safran isn’t familiar, maybe you know about Sagem’s French Future Soldier System, Felin? That’s them. The players are all heavy hitters in the defense industry and they’ve been affiliated with one another for some time. This is just a long overdue update to corporate imaging.

Vectronix, a leading observation and precision targeting solutions provider, officially unveiled a newly redesigned logo and brand identity today to better reflect its affiliation as a Safran company. The new logo amplifies the synergy of both companies and their continuing commitment to provide world-class solutions to fulfill mission requirements for all customers. The new brand identity will be integrated into a comprehensive new website and across all Vectronix marketing material in the months ahead.
Vectronix has been part of the Sagem group since 2003. In May 2005, Sagem merged with Snecma, the aerospace propulsion and equipment group, to form the Safran Group. Vectronix has been a subsidiary of Safran as part of its Optronics and Defense Division for the past 10 years, producing a long history of success. With the introduction of the new company branding, Vectronix will continue to offer its well-known portfolio of observation and targeting handhelds and introduce the Sagem portfolio to the U.S. defense industry.

Today, Things Change For The Better. This photograph was originally published on 13 August, 2009. Unfortunately, the issue it depicts didn’t get fixed until today, almost six years later.
Today finally marks the beginning of the end for the poorly named Universal Camouflage pattern which has afflicted our Army for the past 11 years. You can see it in this photo, worn by the Soldier who seems to glow, even in daylight. On the other hand is the future, seen in the picture on the properly camouflaged Soldier who is wearing MultiCam, which the vast majority of Soldiers will be wearing for the near term in the form of FRACUs in the Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern.

Baton Rouge, LA — Lipsey’s, nationally renowned firearms distributor, is officially launching a gray GLOCK that is now available in several models.
Lipsey’s has staked its claim in the Flat Dark Earth arena with dozens of GLOCK models in two tone and full FDE. However, Lipsey’s continues to stay on the cutting edge of trends and what the pulse of dealers and customers are clamouring for. The gray GLOCK is it.
These Gen4 GLOCK’s feature a factory molded gray frame with black slide. They are now available in the following models: G17, G19, G20, G21, G22 and G23. Included with each pistol are four gray interchangeable back straps.
With the overwhelming success of the Lipsey’s Exclusive Flat Dark Earth GLOCK models, Product Development Manager Jason Cloessner was ready to blaze another trail in a market wanting more than standard black guns. When asked about the concept behind the project he had this to say, “With the growing trend of gray in both the AR-15 and tactical accessory market, the timing has never been better for a gray framed version of one of the most popular semi-automatic pistols in the world.”

Designed and built in-house, PenCottCamo.com is the new central, brand-hub for the PenCott® family of camouflage patterns from Hyde Definition Ltd.
This is the first time that the PenCott® pattern family has had its own dedicated website, and greatly expands and improves upon the PenCott® pattern content that has been previously held on the HydeDefinition.com website. Among other enhancements, the new site features an in-depth look at the development of the patterns, what makes them so effective and where the name ‘PenCott’ comes from.
Another key highlight of the new site is the wide-ranging and ever growing gallery of submitted photographs showing the performance of the patterns in-the-field around the world. There’s even an interactive map of the world that lets you select to see photos of the patterns in use by country (and by state in the US).
A useful section of the site for Makers is the page covering the range of different PenCott® pattern fabrics and materials that are now available – as well as links to sources where they can be bought.
Consumers will find the full, up-to-date listing of PenCott® garment and gear producers – with links off to their websites – an invaluable resource for getting kitted up in PenCott®.
Finally, the Blog section of the site will present all of the latest news related to the PenCott® patterns, as well as additional original content relating to the field of camouflage history, design and technologies.
With the launch of the separate PenCottCamo.com site, the legacy HydeDefinition.com site will be revamped and refocused to cover the consultancy services and other camouflage projects that Hyde Definition works on.
