November 27th, 2014Crimson Trace has announced the LG-360G, a Laserguard designed for S&W M&P pistols. The full release can be read below:
(Wilsonville, OR) — Crimson Trace, America’s leading brand in laser sighting systems and tactical lights for firearms, will soon release the LG-360G –a new Laserguard® equipped with a powerful Crimson Trace green laser. This Laserguard is engineered to perfectly fit over the trigger guard and rail system of the popular S&W M&P full-size and compact pistols, and it features Crimson Trace’s Instinctive Activation™ with a pressure sensitive touch pad under the trigger guard. The new LG-360G will also provide the user with a master on/off switch to permit user preferences on when the laser can be engaged—or disengaged.
The Laserguard LG-360G features a unique set of inset scallops that match the in-the-metal patterns found along a portion of the pistol’s slide. Those scallops, along with seamless integration, combine to make the new LG-360G have a factory-built appeal and appearance. This new Laserguard will also permit windage and elevation adjustments that can be easily accomplished with the provided tools. This laser sight can be easily installed by the buyer in a few minutes without any special gunsmithing tools, and it will be covered under Crimson Trace’s popular Free Batteries for Life program.
The Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price for the LG-360G will be $299.
CZ-USA – CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol

CZ-USA will soon be offering a semi-auto pistol variant of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 submachine gun for public consumption. The EVO 3 S1 Pistol features a polymer frame, blowback-operated action, 7 3/4″ barrel, and is chambered for 9mm Parabellum. It comes equipped with an integral quad Picatinny rail configuration, with the top rail coming in at 11″. The EVO 3 S1 comes standard with low-profile sights, with the rear sight having four different aperture sizes. The controls are ambidextrous, including the non-reciprocating charging handle which is swappable, and the reach to the trigger is also adjustable.
Interestingly enough, CZ-USA is also offering an arm brace adapter, which adds an “AR-style pistol buffer tube to the rear of the action, enabling the use of an arm brace for added stability.”
The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol will be available starting in 2015.

The Panteao AR15 Rifle & Carbine DVD Available Exclusively From The NRA Store

This ninety minute DVD produced exclusively for the NRA was done with the intent of presenting the AR15 rifle and carbine platform in a clear and straight forward manner.
With the help of Kyle Harth, the video brings the viewer up to speed on the design and more recent innovations in the platform. Kyle is a veteran of the US Army Special Forces and served multiple combat tours and deployed globally in operational, instructional and advisory capacities.

A Show Of Support For Willie Meyers

Members of industry have banded together to help in the recovery efforts of Willie “Creasy Bear” Meyers. Over his long career, Willie Meyers has worked as a Flight Medic, SWAT Medic, and Paramedic, for the State Department Security Contract in Iraq and Afghanistan, and most recently as a medic in Israel.
Recently, Willie was severely injured while working in Israel on the US Embassy Security Detail as a Security Contractor, which has left him with a central core spinal contusion, two crushed vertebrae, a broken neck, and a torn rotator cuff.
Willie is currently undergoing treatment at Shepard Spinal Rehab Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is making steady progress towards his recovery. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Willie and his family with his medical expenses, and a Facebook fan page has been set up in support of Willie and his efforts. We here at SSD wish Willie an expedient recovery and thank him for all his many years of service.

Winkler Knives II – F-1 Flipper Knives

Back in June, we showed you a preview of ABS Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler’s first folding knife from from the BLADE Show floor, which features the blade profile of his popular Belt Knife. Now, that knife, dubbed the F-1 Flipper, is available for purchase. It is available in two configurations, the F-1 Flipper and F-1B Flipper. The difference between the two is that the F-1 features G10 scales while the F-1B incorporates carbon fiber scales. Naturally, the F-1B feels slightly lighter than its G10 counterpart.

Organizational Changes at SureFire
November 26th, 2014According to a memo issued yesterday at SureFire, there are a couple of organizational changes.
First, Jamie Wiedeman who recently returned to SureFire, will move over to Vice President of Military Sales. Jamie is no stranger to the military market having served a full career in the US Army. I got a chance to catch up with him at AUSA and I’d say he is an expert on SureFire products as well as their practical application.
Additionally, new hire Jeffrey Barger will be joining SureFire as Vice President of Marketing and Commercial/Consumer Sales. He brings 30 years of business experience to this role including six years as Executive Director of Commercial Development with Sturm Ruger as well as time as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Viridian Green Lasers.
We wish both well in their new positions.
