The new Crimson Trace and S&W project partnership will better serve conceal carry and self defense customer needs—and demands. The small, compact and easily concealed M&P BODYGUARD semi-auto pistols are chambered in .380 Auto while the hammerless M&P BODYGUARD revolvers are chambered in .38 S&W Special +P. Both handguns have durable lightweight polymer frames and the integration of the special Crimson Trace laser sights has little impact on the handguns’ overall shape or weight.

The news systems are also durable. After laser sight systems were installed on prototype M&P handguns, they were rigorously tested at Crimson Trace’s headquarters range with more than 50,000 rounds of live fire completed. Testing is complete and passed, and now the new Crimson Trace equipped M&P Bodyguard pistols and revolvers are available across America.

All Crimson Trace laser sighting systems are precision manufactured and rigorously tested in the company’s state-of-the-art production facility in Wilsonville, Oregon. The M&P BODYGUARDs are built at the S&W factory in Massachusetts.

CTC Defense

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

It’s been in the works for some time but Crimson Trace just announced the formation of a new business unit dedicated to the military market. Tactical-Life.com broke the story earlier today.

According to the article, “Among the introductory products that will be offered by CTC Defense is a pair of Lasergrips for the SIG Sauer P226. Affectionately known as the “dual can,” they incorporate both a red laser and an infrared (IR) laser for use with night vision.” Additionally, MVF-515 fore grip will be offered with not only a red but also a green laser.

Expect new products to begin to roll out at Modern Day Marine.

The shape of things to come? The Modular Sporting Rifle prototype may be just the thing if threatened weapon bans are enacted. Designed to fit any AR-15 style upper receiver, the MSR looks as if an M4 mated with an 870. It certainly hides some of those menacing “assault weapon” features such as pistol grips, collapsible stocks, and external mag wells. When combined with a flat top upper, you can barely tell the rifle is a black rifle.

From Rocky’s civilian line comes the Broadhead designed for bow hunting. I took one look at these lightweight stalkers and knew that their would be tactical interest. So did the duty wear division of Rocky and they plan on offering them as a cross over piece this summer.
