Grey Ghost Precision Releases a SIGnificant new offering: GGP320 Slides

Friday, July 19th, 2019

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Precision is excited to announce the release of their newest product line: aftermarket slides for the SIG P320 platform.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

These new slides share the same precision engineering as the GLOCK aftermarket slides that GGP has been manufacturing for the past two years: the GGP17, GGP19 and SPG43. These new slides, dubbed the ‘GGP320’, are an aftermarket upgrade for your SIG P320 series pistol and will available in both compact and full-size lengths.

Why branch out to support the P320 platform, as opposed to any one of the other striker-fire handgun platforms that have flooded the industry to date? As an end-user focused company, GGP consistently chooses to adapt when equipment requirements shift in the military and law enforcement realms. As the winning handgun of the United States Military Modular Handgun System trials, the M17 and M18 (P320 MHS variants) brought a new level of modularity to the U.S. professional lead farmer, and many Law Enforcement agencies are following suit by adopting it as well. The P320’s ability to be custom tailored to the individual user’s preferences in grip length, grip size, as well as slide length and sight radius are highly desirable options. By offering GGP320 aftermarket slides with a special twist, GGP is giving P320 users another level of customization with measurable results.

“We are getting more requests from LE officers, DOD agents and professional door kickers that have been issued the newly adopted P320 platform. Some were already using our slides on their issued Glocks, but are now being issued the P320. So, they came back to us and asked for an aftermarket solution that fills their individual needs and requirements for their new sidearm” says Jason Curns, VP of Firearms at Grey Ghost Precision. “Just like our GGP17/19 and SPG43 slides, these GGP320 slides will offer an affordable and attainable option for online shoppers as well as dealers. Forget sending your P320 OEM slide in for costly modification at lengthy lead times, not to mention possibly scrapping your slide if the job isn’t done right. We were able to lighten the slide with aesthetic features, increase grip serrations and improve the coating without compromising function…. its a drop-in install and comes with all the enhancements that professional handgun shooters have come to expect from us.”

The first request that GGP received pertained to optics. Some users specifically wanted to use their preferred brand of MRDS optic on their P320, and not be limited to the SIG ROMEO1. Fortunately, GGP had already been down this road. You may recall that GGP engineered a hybrid MRDS optic footprint that simultaneously worked with both the Trijicon RMR or the slightly larger Leupold DeltaPoint Pro; two MRDS platforms that have a proven track record with firearms instructors and red dot users on the streets and on the sand. This dual compatibility optic cut is still featured in the GGP Combat Pistol line as well as the Version 3 and 4 of their GGP19/17 slides, all without the need for bulky adapter plates that raise the optic above the bore axis. GGP brought this same solution to the GGP320 design with the addition of a third box to check: the SIG ROMEO1. You read that right, the GGP320 slide works with the RMR, DPP, and ROMEO1 right out of the box.

As for the aesthetic of GGP320 Version 1, the serrations have been cut with a gradual taper that gets deeper as it progresses up the slide. This machining technique was featured on the GGP17/19 Version 3 slide, and according to GGP, was a crowd pleaser as soon as it launched earlier this year at SHOT Show 2019. It provides the shooter with a more aggressive grip near the top of the slide for press checks and malfunction clearing drills, without interfering or compromising the material thickness of the slide’s rails. The top of the GGP320 features a window cut for weight balance, without allowing the ingress of large foreign debris to enter the slide. The Version 1 will be available in both compact and full length, as well as in either DLC or Cerakote finish.

When asked about the differing finish options, Jason Curns said, “We’ve found that Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) is an ideal finish for pistol slides due to its inherent lubricity and resistance to wear over time. However, with the M17 and M18 issued pistols having a coyote tan grip module, we opted to offer a Cerakote option as well to better match the color and appearance of those frames.”

As for availability, GGP320 slides are available now for preorder on GGP’s website. GGP320 Compact Slides have an MSRP of $418.95 while the Full-Size slides have a $429.99 MSRP. According to GGP, these slides will be shipping by the end of August. “It was vital that we hit the market with serious momentum” said Grey Ghost Precision CEO, Casey Ingels. “We knew the demand for P320 aftermarket slides was going to be high, so we took steps to be first on the block with plenty of stock.” Be sure to subscribe to the Grey Ghost Precision email list to be alerted as more intel becomes available. New Slide Patterns from Grey Ghost Precision

Tuesday, January 15th, 2019

V3V4-slides-2

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Precision is excited to announce that they have added two additional slide patterns to their GGP-19 and GGP-17 aftermarket Glock slide product line.

The new additions are simply called the V3 and V4, and while they share the same precision engineering and tightened critical tolerances of their predecessors the V1 and V2… they are offering something new to the optics-loving crowd. The V3 and V4 slides feature a hybrid MRDS cut. Previously the V1 and V2 slides were only cut and tapped for mounting the Trijicon RMR. However the V3 and V4 slides now feature a modified optic footprint to accommodate the slightly larger Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. Still want to mount your trusty Trijicon RMR? As it turns out, the DPP and RMR share a similar front profile without the bolt patterns intersecting each other. The primary difference in the footprints are overall length, but GGP resolved this with an ingenious aluminum shim plate for use with the shorter RMR. The result is dual compatibility right out of the box, without the need for bulky adapter plates that raise the optic further above the bore axis. Note: GGP provides three pairs of screws for mounting either the Leupold DPP, Trijicon RMR, or the G10 RMR cover plate (for you iron sight purists). Using the factory-length screws that come with your optic of choice will not install correctly.

V3V4-slides-1

As if the optics feature wasn’t enough, the new patterns on the V3 and V4 are worth attention as well. At a quick glance, GGP’s V3 slide would seem to be standard angled serrations. However upon further inspection, the depth of the serrations taper inwards as the cut goes up the slide. This gives you a much more aggressive grip near the top of the slide for press checks and malfunction clearing drills, especially under sweaty, muddy, or bloody conditions. The top of the V3 has shallow cuts that also aid in press checks, while mimicking the design on top of the GGP Glock Barrels.

For the V4 slides, they’ve designed a studded micro-scale texture that provides an unmatched level of frictional grip in any direction of pull. Reminiscent of their V2 slide with “geoscales,” however this pattern is smaller and the little studs within each individual scale provide a much higher level of frictional grip in leu of traditional serrations. The V4 also has a top window cutout presumably for weight balance.

“We are excited to bring more DLC color options to our customers,” stated GGP Vice President of Firearms, Jason Curns. “With the explosion of aftermarket options for the G43, it was important for us to give our loyal GGP customers more choices to build the G43 of their personal specifications.”

As is the case with every other product that comes out the door at Grey Ghost Precision, the SPG43’s attention to detail, fitment and mindset for the end user is paramount. Grey Ghost Precision Team Shooter JP Sullivan, Secures Top Placement at 3rd Annual, Task Force Dagger 3Gun Championship

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

June 12, 2018 – Grey Ghost Precision is proud to announce team shooter, JP Sullivan’s fourth place finish, out of 154 competitors, at the 3rd Annual Task Force Dagger 3Gun Championship, held June 8-10, in Clinton, SC.

Sullivan, who competes in 3 Gun, USPSA, and Precision Rifle matches, has won numerous local matches and placed in the Top 10 at multiple major matches across the country using modified GGP Light 5.56 rifles.

Currently serving as an Army Captain on Active Duty with 3 deployments to Afghanistan and other overseas Assignments, Sullivan chooses to run the Grey Ghost Precision Light (5.56), with an 18″ barrel for his rifle during the competitions.

The 2018 Task Force Dagger Foundation 3Gun Championship is an entertaining three-day military-style, physically and mentally challenging event. The match features 8 stages, and 18 Squads with 15 competitors per squad. The stages are designed to present dynamic shooting challenges, as well each stage designed to individually memorialize a USSOCOM service member or a significant combat operation.

“The skill level of the competitors was no doubt the deepest talent pool I have seen at the match,” stated Sullivan. “The first and second place finishers are both multi-time national champions and damn near unstoppable so it was a battle for third, and I’m honored to have been among that group of finishers.”

Sullivan is one of several active duty, Special Operations Military members the team at Grey Ghost entrusts their firearms with, to provide honest and real feedback.

“My rifle is by far my best of the 3 guns I have. I also compete with the GGP Grim (6.5 Creedmoor), which doesn’t require any modifications due to it being so awesome out of the gate and ready for competition,” stated Sullivan. “Needless to say, the team at GGP is one that I trust completely.”

With a number of prototypes in the hands of trusted industry partners and professionals, from Special Forces teams and instructors, Law Enforcement, competition shooters and hardcore hunters, Grey Ghost isn’t one of those companies who asks for help and then decide they’re going to do it their way anyway. The team takes every ounce of feedback, in conjunction with design and engineering, and the product you see come out of the box will be the result of legitimate evaluations and honest opinion.

“We make it a point to remain relevant to our customers by being in constant contact with them,” stated Jason Curns, Vice President of GGP. “Feedback is the most important aspect in design and manufacturing – and we realize how imperative it is to humble ourselves to know that. We are incredibly end-user focused; and with several of our products currently being deployed with teams in combat, our focus on the feedback from those who put themselves into harms way is the most imperative.”

“Having JP as part of the Grey Ghost team is not only an honor, but is a truly imperative ingredient to how we as a company operate,” stated Casey Ingles, CEO of GGP. “Without professionals such as JP, we wouldn’t be able to produce the products we do, and be able to provide those who use them, the confidence to know they will operate when needed.”
