Always remember handgun skills are the most difficult to attain and maintain so practice them often. We live in a world of CCW in the US so common sense tells you that if you ever need a weapon for self defense it is likely to be a handgun. I believe everyone who is serious about using a long gun should learn how to use an AK; by best estimates 100 million or more have been made so somewhere along the line you will probably run into one.
