Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

Nightforce Optics is excited to announce the inaugural Nightforce Precision Tactical 2 Rifle Match. This competition will be a blend of the rifle component of 3-Gun and target engagements known to competitors of the Precision Rifle Series (PRS). The match is to be held August 27-28, 2016 across the expansive natural terrain of the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM. Running the match are Denise and JJ Johnson, who have much experience from running the world famous Rocky Mountain 3 Gun match.

The match format will consist of 10 stages, with shooters running both a carbine and precision rifle on each stage. Close to 300 yard targets will be engaged with the carbine, while precision rifles will engage steel to 1000 yards. Estimated minimum round counts will be 200rds from the carbine and 100rds from the precision rifle.

“We are thrilled to partner with Denise and JJ for this event, as we feel this is a unique match concept that will appeal to shooters from both multigun and precision rifle,” says Sean Murphy, Marketing Project Manager and shooter for Nightforce Optics. “I think competitors will enjoy using their favorite carbine on targets from up close to 300 yards, and then transitioning to a precision rifle out to 1000 yards on every stage. The Whittington Center is a perfect choice for this event, with the unlimited potential for exciting stages shot across their corner of the Rocky Mountains.”

New First Focal Plane SHV 4-14 x 50 F1 from Nightforce

Wednesday, January 6th, 2016

Nightforce has announced their first SHV riflescope built with first focal plane reticle technology, the SHV 4-14 x 50 F1. This is the latest addition to the company’s popular SHV line, winner of two consecutive Outdoor Life Editor’s Choice awards.

NFO_SHV4_14x50F1_Angle

The new riflescope features intelligent reticles with illumination that turns off between each of 11 brightness settings, allowing the user to pre-select an illumination level appropriate for lighting conditions, turn it off to preserve battery power, then restore it instantly with a one-click rotation of the dial. This prevents having to cycle through multiple brightness settings, which takes time and can affect the shooter’s night vision. The proprietary Nightforce MOAR and MIL-R reticles are offered.

The SHV 4-14 x 50 includes side parallax adjustment, and offers windage/elevation adjustments in .25 MOA or .1 Mil-Radian increments. It has an exposed elevation turret with Nightforce ZeroSet, which provides the user with a positive return to their zero point regardless of how many elevation adjustments have been made. The windage adjustment is capped for protection, but the cap can be removed and the windage adjustment used fully exposed. The SHV 4-14 x 50 allows 90 MOA of elevation adjustment and 70 MOA windage within its 30mm tube.

“Our SHV line has been extremely popular with shooters who demand affordable performance,” said Sean Murphy, marketing project manager, “and the new 4-14x F1 model continues to deliver. Fewer options and a simpler configuration allow us to offer SHV models at extremely competitive prices. We created the new 4-14 x 50 F1 to answer customer requests for SHV quality and affordability with the unique benefits of first focal plane reticle placement.”

The Nightforce SHV™ 4-14 x 50 F1 will retail for $1290 in the US market. For more information call 208.476.9814 or visit www.NightforceOptics.com.

Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 x 24 limited release

The original member of the Nightforce NXS Compact riflescope family is making a limited debut for 2015.
In order to meet customer requests for the discontinued NXS 2.5-10 x 24 compact riflescope, Nightforce is manufacturing a limited run this fall. The NXS 2.5-10 x 24 is unique in that it has a straight body tube to the objective lens, which provides for a very compact package (9.9 inches in length).

For many years, the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x family —proven in the hands of the U.S. military—has been renowned for performance far beyond its size. The NXS 2.5-10 x 24 was an original contract riflescope on the U.S. military Mark 12 5.56mm Special Purpose Rifle (SPR) program.

This limited run will see the NXS 2.5-10 x 24 receive modern enhancements over the original production models. Included will be an integrated Nightforce PTL (Power Throw Lever), allowing instant magnification changes even while wearing gloves. The elevation and windage adjustments are of the most current design, providing extremely positive click feel and easy to read numbers. Adjustment configurations are in .250 MOA (20 MOA per revolution) or .1 Mil-Radian (5 Mil-Radian per revolution) increments, with an exposed ZeroStop elevation and a capped windage adjustment as standard. Reticle choices include the MOAR and Mil-R.

As with all of the NXS 2.5-10x models, they prove that size is no substitute for quality, providing performance that exceeds most riflescopes of any size. In addition to being extremely popular on the various AR platforms, the low mounting profile, versatile magnification range and streamlined proportions also make it ideal for a mountain or safari rifle.

These limited run Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 x 24 models have an MSRP of $1,950. To acquire one of these limited availability riflescopes, please contact one of the four exclusive retailers below:

Nightforce Optics Announces First Ever Spotting Scope – TS-82 Xtreme

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

Nightforce Optics, Inc, has announced its first-ever spotting scope, the TS-82™ Xtreme Hi-Def™ 20-70x.

20130502-090535.jpg

APO fluorite glass, used in only the most advanced optics, provides truer, more brilliant colors. The TS-82™ produces crisp, razor-sharp resolution with no distortion from edge to edge, and vivid, ultra-high-contrast images. An 82mm objective lens and distinctive internal prism design provides maximum light transmission, as opposed to mirrors which absorb critical light rays. The prism design is also easy on the eye, reducing eye fatigue; allowing for extended observing time.

Proprietary Nightforce lens coatings aid in contrast and brightness. A hydrophobic coating also immediately sheds water without leaving residue, and helps repel fingerprints and smudges.

One very cool feature is that the TS-82™ allows attachment of an iPhone 4 or 5 right out of the box, allowing high-resolution photos or videos. Available with either straight or angled design eyepieces, its aluminum body provides ruggedness and thermal stability, and the TS-82™ is thoroughly shock tested and waterproof. An optional wide-angle 30-60x eyepiece is also available.

“Our customers have asked for many years when we would introduce a spotting scope,” said Kyle Brown, director of sales and marketing for Nightforce. “The answer was, ‘at a time when we could produce a spotting scope equivalent in performance and quality to Nightforce riflescopes.’ That time is now.”

The TS-82™ Xtreme Hi-Def™ 20-70x spotting scope has an MSRP of roughly $2,600. For more information, visit www.NightforceOptics.com or call 208.476.9814.

Sneak Peek – King’s Arsenal .50

Tuesday, December 4th, 2012

King’s Arsenal designed the rifle around the Hornady A-MAX .50BMG ammunition and this prototype is around a half to 3/4 MOA gun.

They’ve certainly combined all of the right ingredients. Built on a Cadex Defence Strike 50 chassis which accommodates the McMillan Tac 50 action (both old and new style). King’s Arsenal also used a 28″ Lija barrel and a McMillan brake. Additionally, they’ve applied a Cerakote finish to the rifle in Tan (minus bolt) to match the Cadex chassis.

They’ve topped this one off with a Nightforce Optics 5.5x22x50 NXS with NP-R2 illuminated reticle optic.

It’s not on their website yet so email Jordan@kingsarsenal for full details.

Nightforce Optics Launches New Website

Nightforce Optics’ new site includes easier navigation, extensive product information, and a number of tutorial features. For example, the online Velocity Reticle Calculator allows the shooter to interactively explore the application and performance of the unique Nightforce Velocity 1000 and Velocity 600 reticles, relative to their own rifle’s ballistic profile. They’ve also included several videos such as the one explaining ZeroStop. It’s their mechanical elevation adjustment stop that allows the shooter to instantly return to their chosen zero point, no matter how many adjustments in elevation may have been made.
