Nike – SFB Mountain

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015

The latest in the SFB line, the SFB Mountain features a design inspired by Bill Bowerman’s service in World War II. The upper consists of Kevlar reinforced canvas, which is water-repellent and breathable. The perforated bootie can be removed and worn on its own for quick drying.

The footbed is also Kevlar reinforced, which protects it from punctures. The midsole is removable, and doubles as a sockliner. The external collar helps prevent small stones and debris from getting in the boot.

It comes in one color: Military Brown/Military Brown

Nike to Introduce SFB2

Saturday, January 11th, 2014

According to a photo posted by Airsoft Outlet Northwest, which is right down the road from the Nike campus, Nike will be introducing the SFB2 on 31 January.

I can see a few differences from the current SFB which has been around since 2008. For instance, the sole has been changed from the FREE-style sole. Additionally, the upper loses the classic Jungle Boot styling and forgoes the metal lace holes for fabric lace barrels on the top of the foot.

Nike Flyknit Technology

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Nike is introducing a new upper technology that resembles your grandmother’s crochet more than a running shoe. The ultralightweight Nike Flyknit combines yarns and fabric that are precisely engineered so that they only where they are needed. The result is a true minimalist shoe that is formfitting with a virtually seamless upper.

We’ve seen similar things done with clothing for years. It’s been done with for footwear with other materials as well such as leather. With the knitting, you can imagine how light it can be and yet maintain its strength.

Coming now from Nike.
