NRAAM 18 – Hudson Mfg.

Saturday, May 5th, 2018

Hudson Mfg. is displaying their new drop-in threaded barrel. It features standard 1/2×28 threads, and is currently being offered for sale with Hudson’s various dealers and distributors. When asked about selling H9s with the barrel installed, a rep stated that Hudson’s current goal is to support the customer base who already purchased an H9, rather than offer a whole new H9 model with the threaded barrel.

Here the barrel can be seen installed in the Hudson H9A, the aluminum framed H9 with polymer grip panels, which shaves off roughly half a pound of weight when compared to the standard H9, and a lower MSRP.

NRAAM 18 – Franklin Armory CSW

Saturday, May 5th, 2018

Although I just learned about it yesterday, the Franklin Armory CSW has been out for quite sometime. I’m just surprised it hasn’t been more popular as the most common reaction to goofy gun laws it to stick it to the man by finding a legal way around the poorly crafted legislation. In this case, we’ll call it the “Crew Served Weapon” loophole.

Franklin Armory created the CSW specifically in response to California gun laws. The AR pattern weapon’s stock is replaced with the CSW assembly. Because of the CSW’s configuration, it isn’t classified as a rifle, pistol, shotgun, or AOW. What’s more, it’s not an “assault weapon” either. This means no bullet button, or other accommodations.

The spade grip design has independent triggers on each grip but the original fire control group is retained. Because the linkage attaches directly to the trigger, the rate of fire is not artificially increased. This means it is not classified as a “multiburst trigger activator.”

Now, can you imagine adding a belt fed semi upper to the CSW?

NRAAM 18 – Daniel Defense Rattlecan

Saturday, May 5th, 2018

At their booth at NRAAM, Daniel Defense had their new Rattlecan finish option on display. Inspired by field “rattlecan” paint jobs, and sporting a scale-like appearence, the Rattlecan finish is a two-part Cerakote finish, consisting of Daniel Defense’s Mil Spec+ and Tornado (a grey hue).

Rattlecan is being offered as a finish option for three rifles: DDM4V7, DDM4V7LW, and the DDM4V7PRO, although the finish may extend to additional models in the future.
