SSD sponsor S.O.Tech is profiled in an article in the latest issue of SureFire’s ‘Combat Tactics’ magazine. It presents an excellent history of S.O. Tech as well as an overview of some of their latest products. Published by Guns & Ammo, SureFire Presents ‘Combat Tactics’ is available on most news stands and also features articles Paul Howe, SureFire’s Total Signature Reduction Suppressors, the FN SCAR, Arc’teryx line of combat clothing, and an argument on why gas pistons ARs are so much hype as well as many others. It is well worth picking up.

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010Have you seen this thing? If not, you need to stop by Paladin’s booth #31017E at this week’s Outdoor Retailer Summer market in Salt Lake City, Utah. Based on S.O. Tech designs, Paladin products are manufactured off-shore in order to mitigate costs for those who don’t require Berry compliance such as the recreational and LE markets. With the Panel Pack they have hit a home run. This pack is awesome. Designed as a modular hanging panel, it can be zipped closed and carried over-the-shoulder, pack-style. In the brochure Paladin gives a couple of ideas on how to configure the Panel Pack but those are just really the tip of the iceberg. In fact, it’s use is only limited by your imagination due to the interchangeable pockets.
Feature laden, the Panal Pack has a large external mesh pocket for items like jackets, helmets, fins, etc. as well as an external flat zippered pocket for booklets, medical records, or emergency documents. Additionally, it will accommodate a hydration bladder in the flex mesh external back pocket. There are also external loops for poles and tools as well as a clear vinyl “window pocket†for packing lists or ID.

BLoCS Angled Dump Pouch
Friday, December 11th, 2009S.O. Tech is in the process of adding to their modular Battle Load Carrying System (BLoCS) line. Their newest piece is the Angled Dump Pouch.
Two variants are available. A standard model and the zippered version (shown). The unique designed is intended to ensure magazines lay flat in the pouch. The zippered version is designed to assist in extracting magazines from the pouch. The opening features a removable elastic opening to quickly reconfigure the pouch’s use as its deep design offers ample room for magazines or for use as a Sensitive Site Exploitation bag. Additionally, it rolls up and out of the way when not in use yet the top is reinforced with stiffeners to keep its shape.
While the pouch is currently made from 500D Cordura, an ultra-lightweight version is in development to even further reduce the weight and bulk of the item. It easily attaches to belts and other platforms via the integrated PALS-compatible Flex-Tabâ„¢ (seen above).
Berry Compliant, the Angled Dump Pouch is available in Coyote, Black, Ranger Green, UCP, and MultiCam (20% additional charge). Other colors on special order.
