SureFire Responds to NDAA Rumors

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

In the interest of putting some downright far out rumors to bed, we are publishing this statement by SureFire verbatim.

Dear Concerned American Citizens and SureFire Customers,

We’ve been made aware of various articles pertaining to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and SureFire’s alleged role as a lobbyist and/or financial supporter of the bill and its primary political backer, Sen. Robert Portman. The news reports are using our associations with a Political Action Committee (PAC), a former consulting group, and a government contract to infer that we support indefinite military detention of American citizens without charge or trial. These reports are false and misleading. Our association with this bill has nothing to do with citizens’ rights and SureFire is now the casualty of a disregard for sound journalism.

We’ve never supported the removal of citizens’ rights let alone do we have any connection with those responsible for the injustice. Any news outlet alleging SureFire’s support of anti-American rights, is reporting lies. SureFire’s support of unrelated parts of the NDAA does not constitute support for every part of the bill like those that are now being contested.

C.A.T. 762 Tool

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

I want to thank our friends at Loess Hills Tactical for reminding us that Combat Application Tools, Inc. has introduced the CAT-762 Tool. Based on the success of their M4 tool, CAT built a new tool for the carbine’s big brother. One of the challenges in producing a tool for 7.62 Stoner-style weapons is that there are a couple of different ways of going about things which makes it difficult to produce a mne piece tool like the CAT. Consequently, the CAT-762 was specifically designed to work with Armalite and DPMS bolts. Other makes (Larue OBR and Rock River are not compatible) may not fit.

The CAT-762 features a Bolt Cleaner / Scraper, Firing Pin Cleaner, 1/4″ Hex Head, Patch Hole, and a Carrier Cleaner / Scraper.

Magpul Shotgun Accessories?

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

That’s right, Magpul is going to release their first parts for the ubiquitous 870. Look for an MOE Forend (not compatible with Super Mag) and SGA Stock at SHOT Show in booth #20163.

The MOE Forend is a drop in replacement for the factory version and features extended length and front/rear hand stops. Since it’s MOE it’s compatible with current MOE rails, mounts, and accessories.

The SGA Stock features a spacer system for length of pull adjustment, improved grip ergonomics, recoil-reducing butt-pad, optional cheek risers for use with optics/raised sights, and other accessories.

Panteao Productions Introduces IDPA World Championship DVD

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

Panteao Productions has introduced a new DVD in the Panteao Documentary series of videos called 2011 IDPA World Championship.

The IDPA World Championship drew shooters from all over the world to compete at this inaugural event. Facing 27 stages with a minimum of 326 rounds to fire, it was going to be a challenge for any shooter. To add to the complexity of the stages was the inclement weather and souring temperatures. We take you to the IDPA World Championship so that you can see the very first match of its kind and relive history being made. You’ll follow different squads firing stages that vary in complexity and hear from the shooters themselves what they thought of the match. We take you to the awards banquet and after the match, give you an inside look at one of the Shooting Sports Clinics where top shooters help other shooters improve their skills.

The DVD will begin shipping by the first week of January. Pre-orders are being accepted by Panteao. The video is also available streaming to Panteao website subscribers.
