Due very soon is the new Garmin fenix. It’s a first for Garmin. Imagine packing a Foretrex 401 into the size of a wristwatch. That’s a fenix. Granted, it doesn’t have ALL of the features of the Foretrex but it is a smaller form factor and it boasts a 50 hour battery life.
The fenix incorporates watch, altimeter, barometer, compass, temperature plot, high-sensitivity GPS receiver, and up to 50 hour battery life.
It features an LED backlight and is waterproof to 50 meters. With a battery life of up to 50 hours in GPS mode (depends on settings) the fenix will soldier on up to 6 weeks in watch mode. Basic watch functions include alarms, tones, vibration alerts, timer, stopwatch and world clock with the ability to display several times zones at once.
Additionally, you can create routes, record up to 1,000 waypoints (such as campsites or points of interest), and record GPS bread crumb trails on the move (tracklogs). It also uses Bluetooth technology to allow you to share data between fenix and other Garmin compatible devices.
Although the fenix is not yet in stock, we prefer to purchase our Garmin products from Marine Corps Veteran Owned Strohman Enterprise.
John McPhee Aerial Marksmanship Training is now available from Alias Training & Security Services. These classes are open to interested military units, law enforcement, government agencies, and private classes are available to vetted hunters/civilians. That’s right, you can learn to engage targets from a helicopter.
Ariel Heavy Carbine Marksmanship course was designed to teach you to be “quick to shoot”, make the SHOT from a helicopter. Being accurate is final, but being accurate on the fly is better.
You will learn helicopter basics and safety considerations, the DOs and DON’Ts around helos. You will rehearse many shooting positions and techniques for making the SHOT. You will fly several courses of fire in progressive learning patterns to be as accurate and safe as possible as you become “quick to shoot”. Bring what you have; we will make you good with it. Learn to use your rifle, scope, reticle and any accessories for them. On the fly use hold offs, hold unders, and holdovers to increase your time to rapidly and accurately hit your target. You will shoot for score, for time and against your own skill to make the SHOT. Learn from your misses, where the shot went, why and correct for a hit in seconds or less. Teach you to correctly and rapidly reload, correct malfunctions and stoppages to get back in the fight on the fly.
Do these things while applying the Perfect Fundamentals of Marksmanship. Practice doesn’t make perfect, Perfect Practice Makes Perfect.

The AF Security Forces Center has modified their existing Defensor Fortis Load Carrying System (DF-LCS) Requirements Contract for USAF Security Forces to include MultiCam (OCP) packs, load carry harnesses, pouch kits, padded belts and misc pouches.
This change allows AF Security Forces to now purchase MultiCam versions of all the items previously available in ABU (Digital Tiger Stripe) at the same price and via the same contract vehicle. All of the new items continue to meet mil-spec and Berry compliance requirements.
Additionally, the new GEN III harnesses are the revamped version based on survey results from users in 2011. Improvements include 5 sizes of harnesses to better address the different body types and heights, improved web management and additional padding in the neck and shoulder areas.
