Or, if you’re more of a screwdriver guy like me, maybe the Craftsman Bottle Opener is more your speed.

Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 22nd, 2012

This is the day that we all give thanks so I want to keep this simple. I am thankful for my health, my job, my readers, my friends, and most of all, my family.

What are you thankful for?

Mercedes Ener-G-Force Patrol Car Concept for 2025

Thursday, November 22nd, 2012

Created as part of the Los Angeles Auto Show’s Design Challenge 2012, the Ener-G-Force from Mercedes was envisioned as a highway patrol car for the year 2025.

It features a hydrogen powerplant and abandons the G-wagen’s boxy exterior for some swoopy goodness.

There’s a Party in My Pants

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

Or maybe I was at a party in these pants. Either way, there was a party involved and I was wearing these pants. From a distance they look like British DPM but up close it’s a different story altogether. The Foxtrot-A Pants from Loudmouth Golf feature a rather interesting camo pattern but I wouldn’t recommend these for casual Friday.

Torture Test II Preview – What Happens When You Shoot a DDM4 v1 with Buckshot?

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

This December, Larry Vickers, host of TAC-TV, puts the Daniel Defense V1 through another series of brutal tests. I was fortunate enough to be on hand for these trials and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all comes together on screen. I was amazed at the stuff the TAC-TV crew came up with. Last year’s first Torture Test seems mild after what I witnessed.

Last time they shot a carbine with birdshot and it kept running like a clock. For Torture Test II, they decided to turn it up a notch and use buckshot. The question is, what does buckshot do to a DDM4? To find out, catch the two-part series next month on Sportsman Channel.

INFORCE Releases WML HSP – 200 Lumens – Momentary Only Activation

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

The INFORCE WML HSP was specced out by Haley Strategic Partners specifically for tactical low light applications. Running a white light with an upgraded 200 lumen lamp, it offers tight beam for close- to mid-range applications. The light also delivers a balanced peripheral light for discernment of the surrounding area.

One of the things I like about this version of the WML (other than the $109 price) is that it features a momentary only digital pressure pad. The ergonomic pressure pad is angled and it’s right there on the light so there are no wires or tape switches. Additionally, there are two distinct easy-to-operate lockout systems to avoid light accidental discharges. It’s a scant 3 ounces all told, including batteries which will offer 90 minutes of run time at 200 lumens. It also integrates its own mounting solution that is Mil Std 1913 compatible. Finally, the WML is waterproof to 66 feet.

Winkler Neck Knife

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

The Winkler Neck Knife is a great entry into the line of edged tools crafted by Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler. Granted, it’s a bit different than his traditional American designs but it’s pure quality all the same.

The handle is textured for grip and the 3 1/8″ blade has a durable Black KG finish to protect the knife under adverse conditions where routine maintenance isn’t so routine. Overall length is 7 1/8″ and the knife comes with a kydex sheath with a removable chain lanyard and optional belt loop or PALS system.
