Meopta USA Sport Optics Introduces the MeoStar R2 2.5-15×56 RD Riflescope

TAMPA, FL, June 25, 2018 – Meopta USA Sport Optics is pleased to add the MeoStar R2 2.5-15×56 RD to its premium line of MeoStar R2 riflescopes.

This newest, high-performance 30mm MeoStar R2 riflescope features a 6x variable magnification range, wide field of view and exceptional light transmission.  MeoLux, Meopta’s most advanced lens coating, combined with Schott glass and expert design, enables 99.8% light transmission per lens surface allowing hunters using MeoStar R2 riflescopes to see better and hunt longer.

Available in four illuminated reticle options – 4C-RD, 4K-RD, BDC 2 and BDC 3 – the MeoStar R2 2.5-15×56 RD allows for fast and accurate target acquisition.  All MeoStar R2 riflescopes are parallax free to 100 yards and feature Meopta’s MeoDrop hydrophobic lens coating which easily repels rain, snow, skin oils and dirt.

MeoStar R2 riflescopes are currently available in five models: 1-6×24 RD, 1.7-10×42 RD, 2-12×50 RD, 2.5-15×56 RD and 8×56 RD.

All MeoStar R2 riflescopes feature eight levels of reticle intensity so the brightness level of the red dot can be adjusted to accommodate the ever-changing light and weather conditions in the field – from the brightest sunshine and snow to the dimmest light.  Windage and elevation turrets are quickly resettable to zero and easy to grip, even with gloves on.  Focal adjustment is also quick and easy thanks to Meopta’s fast-focus eyepiece, and the external lens surfaces are protected from scratches and abrasion by the robust MeoShield coating.

Like all Meopta riflescopes, the MeoStar R2 riflescope is machined from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and built to withstand extreme conditions.  The scope features an anodized exterior for scratch resistance and is waterproof, shockproof and fogproof for maximum performance and durability.

Black Aces Tactical announces a new Semiautomatic Shockwave

Black Aces Tactical (BAT), an American manufacturer best known for its patented custom shotguns, is excited to announce the release of the company’s new Semiautomatic Shockwave and Peacekeeper shotguns.

Said Lemoine, “The Shockwave platform has been nothing short of a phenomenon.  We have always felt, and more importantly the customers have always felt, that a semiautomatic version is inevitable.  The brass ring has always been a semiautomatic 12 gauge platform in the most compact package possible.  We feel that we have created an incredible weapon here.”.

At $949 retail – a shooter has choices. Both the Semiautomatic Shockwave and Peacekeeper Pistol Grip versions can be had in 18.5 6+1 trim as well as the uber cool 12.5” 4+1 SBS trim.  For a few dollars more, Black Aces Tactical will install a 6 position folding stock.

“For as long as we can remember, the gun industry has been playing follow the leader.  Our goal is to give the customer something that other manufacturers won’t.”.

Both the Shockwave Semiautomatic and Peacekeeper Pistol Grip models feature a number of innovations.

First and most obvious, the recoil assembly must be relocated and old recoil tube modified to accept the grip.  Next the gas ports are tuned to operate both low and high brass.  Finally the trigger is addressed in order to facilitate fast feeding.  “Being that we use a Remington 1100 base, we have identified addressed a number of weak points.”, said Lemoine.

Trijicon Inc, to Acquire AmeriGlo

Wixom, MI, (June 25, 2018) – Trijicon®, Inc., global provider of innovative aiming solutions for the hunting, shooting, military and law enforcement markets, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire AmeriGlo, a leading supplier of U.S. made night sights. The completion of the acquisition is expected to occur within 30-60 days.

High Angle Solutions – Brigantes Presents – Optimus Polaris Multifuel Stove

Optimus have long been at the pinnacle of stove design.  The Polaris is right at the forefront of this development.  It is capable of burning almost any fuel and certainly any that you would encounter within military operations.  It uses the tried and tested burner head from the highly successful Nova but also provides the opportunity to use gas.  This gives a very functional and efficient system to -15 degrees centigrade and then the ability to switch to liquid fuel for colder temperatures.

The Summit Experience – Day 3

Day three kicked off with a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, cheesy eggs, tater tots and sausage patties. Right after our meal the colors were raised and we participated in our daily ritual of reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance, Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Our first event was Canopy. After a being issued harnesses and helmets, there was a brief training period. Then, we negotiated a course of ziplines back and forth across a valley. Staff members accompanied us through the course and set up our equipment on each obstacle.

In addition to ziplines, we also crossed two bridges and made two rappels.

Due to the distance between the events, we had lunch just we were diminishing up at Canopy. It consisted of breaded chicken strips with bread if you wanted to make a sandwich, chips, fruit and granola bars.

The afternoon was spent at Rocks which features is the largest manmade, outdoor climbing facility in the world. Constructed of concrete by Eldorado Climbing Walls, the formations were painted by a company which does work for Disney.

Summit Experience participants are provided with helmets, harnesses and shoes for the afternoon’s climbing. SBR uses Trublue self belay devices for safety and the facility offers routes with varying degrees of difficulty. The most challenging is the Black Mamba route.

There are also bouldering stations.

Participants in Rocks get the opportunity to rappel from a 40′ Tower.

Rocks was capped off with “a leap of faith” where participants are attached to a Trublue auto belay device and run out from a tower. The device gently lowers them to the ground. Fun was had by all and at the end of the day, we had 12 Scouts with a little confidence in themselves.

We hiked to the dining hall and ate a supper of Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Beans, and Tater Tots.

One final note to potential attendees of the Summit Experience. Although not all of the shower facilities feature hot water, there are a few, scattered throughout the campground. While the weather has been cool and rainy, it was worth it to take warm shower last night and wash off the river after our white water rafting trip yesterday.
