Armor Express Wins Coveted Ballistic Helmet Contract from Drug Enforcement Administration

Wednesday, September 4th, 2019

Arlington, VA and Central Lake, MI, September 4, 2019 – – Armor Express, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-performance protective solutions for the Domestic and Federal Law Enforcement markets, Department of Defense and First Responders, today announced it was awarded the prestigious Ballistic Helmet contract from the Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”).

15155FFD-D768-4BF2-8DD8-646C2741E82E

The Company received a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (“BPA”) to provide its Busch PROtective AMP-1 TP ballistic helmet, believed to be the first and lightest composite helmet with VPAM (HVN-2009) certification in the world. In addition to the DEA, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), United States Marshals Service (“USMS”), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) will be authorized to purchase the AMP-1 TP helmet as part of the BPA, with various options based on each agency’s mission-critical requirements.

The Busch PROtective AMP-1 TP is Armor Express’ flagship ballistic helmet, offering the very best head protection with extraordinary stopping power and protection from blunt force trauma. It provides first-rate protection for tactical law enforcement, anti-terror and specialized police officers who may be exposed to close quarter combat. The AMP-1 TP is constructed of a multi-layer aramid composite, and a patented production technique that creates elite ballistic performance. Its increased edge and multi-impact capabilities enhance the helmet’s protective area by up to 50% compared to standard ballistic helmets, offering high fragmentation protection.

Jim Henderson, Chief Executive Officer stated, “We are very excited about this award and with this BPA now secured, officers and agents can get high-performing ballistic head protection. We look forward to meeting the mission-critical requirements of the DEA, FBI, USMS, and ATF under this award, and have several more innovative helmets that will meet the needs of other Domestic and Federal Law Enforcement end-users. Safety remains our #1 priority and our commitment to drive innovation and find the best solutions for our customers will never stop.”

The DEA had a requirement for High Cut and Mid Cut ballistic helmets, along with alternate suspension kits, for use by Special Agents. Further, having a ballistic helmet that meets the DEA and FBI Ballistic Helmet Testing Protocol was paramount to the agencies’ needs, one specifically designed to reduce blunt force trauma injuries caused by back face deformation. In addition to the DEA and FBI protocol, the AMP-1 TP had already met National Institute of Justice (“NIJ”) Level IIIA and VPAM-3 standards.

Arnold Defense to Launch New Multiple Launch Hydra System at DSEI 2019

Wednesday, September 4th, 2019

Arnold Defense, the St. Louis based manufacturer of 2.75-inch rocket launchers, will be unveiling their sensational new high-capacity rocket launcher, the Multiple Launch Hydra System (MLHS) at DSEi London, 10th September 2019. Prior to the MLHS debut, Arnold Defense will also be attending the 27th International Defence Industry Exhibition, MSPO, taking place in Poland, 03-06 September 2019.

The MLHS is a new surface-based, 23-round, 2.75-inch/70mm precision-guided rocket launcher. When coupled with the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS), the most accurate precision guided weapon in its class, the MLHS is set to transform the surface defence world by delivering a low-cost, high-capacity surgical strike capability.

Whilst the MLHS is a new system, it represents a significant product development of Arnold Defense’s exceptional FLETCHER surface-based, laser-guided rocket launcher. Prior to the development of FLETCHER, the delivery of precision weapons in support of land-forces necessitated the deployment of air or aviation assets; assets that are expensive and not guaranteed to be available when needed. MLHS offers the same organic surface-to-surface precision effect with the versatility and utility demonstrated by FLETCHER, coupled with significant additional delivery capacity. Both systems meet the demands of modern surface-based, asymmetric warfare, optimized for use by both special and conventional forces.

Jim Hager, President and CEO of Arnold Defense said “It is always great to be exhibiting at DSEi, where we had the privilege to reveal the FLETCHER concept in 2017. This year we take that concept a step further with our newest rocket launcher, the Multiple Launch Hydra System”. He added “Both DSEi and MSPO offer a fabulous opportunity to engage with our European and wider international partners and customer base; where Arnold Defense will be showcasing our continued innovation and dedication to providing only the best weapons systems to today’s modern warfighters”.

• At MSPO, Arnold Defense will be exhibiting the LWL-12, another of their core products, at the Works 11 booth, E 38- E42. Meet the Arnold Defense team on their stand, F-47 in the USA Pavilion.

• Arnold’s unveiling of the MLHS will take place at DSEi, where the system will be mounted on the UNIMOG LTTV on the Jankel Stand N6-350. Their FLETCHER rocket launcher will also be on display on BAE Stand S4-200, S4-240, mounted on the Level Peaks M205 tripod, with Capco mount plate.

US Marine Corps Seeks Intense Cold Weather Boot

Wednesday, September 4th, 2019

In a solicitation that was open for just two weeks, the Marine Corps is asking industry to provide up to 50,000 pairs of Intense Cold Weather Boots.

The abbreviated solicitation is because they are looking for one of these commercial styles which meets their requirement and have been previously evaluated: “Belleville Intense Cold Weather Style Number 455, Danner Fort Lewis Style Number 69110, Danner Acadia Style Number 69210, and Solomon (sic) Quest GTX Style Number L40723300.”

Belleville Intense Cold Weather Boot

However, as it must be Berry compliant, the Salomon boot is an unlikely option since they currently don’t have US production.

This boot will be used down to -20 deg F. It’s important to note that these are all leather boots, unlike the rubber construction Vapor Barrier Boot which has been used in this environment for decades. Unfortunately, the VB boot is no longer manufactured in the US.

DSEI 2019: General Robotics Ltd. Showcases the Next Generation of the Pitbull-3 Anti-Drone Remote Weapon Station and the DOGO – Anti-Terror & Crime Robot

Wednesday, September 4th, 2019

The systems come with a new faster and more accurate Point & Shoot technology, and are already operational

DSEI 2019, September 10-13, London, Israel Pavilion, Stand S5-220

2 September 2019. General Robotics Ltd., – a company specializing in developing, manufacturing and marketing advanced robotic systems for defense and homeland security applications – will reveal, for the first time at DSEI 2019, the new anti-drone remote controlled weapon station with its latest features.

The Pitbull-3 is an ultra-lightweight RCWS that delivers Point & Shoot technology, is highly accurate and highly reliable, and provides an ideal solution for detecting and tracking all types of drones during flight, enabling their neutralization and downing.

Weighing only 70 kg, the Pitbull-3 anti-drone station provides a complete solution in one compact and mobile system that can be easily installed on any manned or unmanned ground, air or maritime platform, including ultralight vehicles such as ATVs, and fixed stations.

“While hard-kill solutions are inevitably needed to stop advanced drones and drone swarms, there is a strong focus on soft-kill capabilities. Pitbull-3 enables both.” says Shahar Gal, CEO of General Robotics Ltd.

The system’s complete solution against drones enables three key courses of action to be taken:

•       Detection of drones by different kinds of radar integrated within the system, with a drone detection range of up to 5 km.

•       A soft-kill via an integrated jammer which can induce simultaneous disruption of all drones’ communication frequencies – command, video and GPS – thereby forcing the drone to stop, land or return to base.

•         A hard-kill whereby an advanced prediction algorithm enables moving drones to be shot down from 500 meters, and hovering drones from 800 meters.

In addition to Pitbull, at DSEI, the company will also present the new, DOGO Mark II anti-terror robot with its latest capabilities, which include faster Point & Shoot™ interface, enabling accurate designation of lethal or non-lethal means simply by clicking on the screen; non-lethal pepper spray and non-lethal dazzling light module attachments; and front extenders, for overcoming various obstacles.

Weighing just 11 kg, DOGO is in use by special forces, SWAT teams and infantry around the world. Standard pistols can be quickly attached to the robot and easily operated via Point & Shoot™ technology. DOGO can also be integrated with non-lethal modules. The robot includes eight video cameras that provide 360° live video and boresight views and can communicate in hostage situations. The DOGO is being sent into fatal funnels to provide situational awareness and remote engagement capabilities to increase the survivability of the fighting forces.
