SHOT Show 22 – Hazard 4 Mandogator

Friday, January 21st, 2022

Inspired by a favored Mandalorian warrior, the Mandogator from Hazard 4 is a knee high gaiter made from the same Softshell fabric as their Poncho Villa.

The PALS webbing was integrated for use by ATV riders for handy access.

This is a prototype and they’ve removed the snap at the front. In fact, all of the metal has been removed from the design. Both the adjustable front clip and bottom strap are replaceable.

I caught up with Retired Sergeant Major Kyle Lamb in the Vertx booth and he told me how happy he is to be working with Vertx on a new line of signature products starting with the Cubes which is a family of packing cubes.

Great for storage, overlanding or just travel in general these can be stacked, and smaller Cubes can be locked in place on the larger ones via their interlocking tab system to be used as a base.

SHOT Show 22 – Agilite Pincer Placard

Friday, January 21st, 2022

While elastic-style ammo pouches keep your magazines secure, many people complain that it can be difficult to reinsert them. Agilite went to work on the issue and came up with the Pincer Placard. They developed a new molded mouth that works like a funnel and lined the pouch for easier insertion. Yet, the elastic body still does its job.

They automated the test process of inserting magazines thousands of times in order to check wear on their new pouch. If you haven’t seen their test apparatus in action, be sure to go here.

His new DISCUS is an inline PTT device which offers a separate circuit for Bluetooth connections so you can monitor comms but also listen to music or audio books, or TAK on cell service when appropriate. Look for more details soon.

Sneak Peek – TangoDown Lens Guard for AIMPOINT P2

Friday, January 21st, 2022

My friend Aaron Solich passed me some photos of this AIMPOINT P2 Lens Cover he received from TangoDown.

Here’s what Aaron had to say:

ACRO P-2 arrived today! The other item is a lens guard that I received from friend Jeff Cahill at TangoDown recently. Not only is the optic great but the lens guard is really slick and low profile. It’s machined to slide down over the recessed area that’s around the optic housing just behind the front lens and the set screw on each side screws down into the hole on each side to hold it in place. Material is anodized aluminum and it protects the front lens from impacts of things larger than the guard. Very useful for protecting the front lens if using the optic to rack the slide with something like a barrier, doorframe, etc. A little bit of insurance for the optic that should be available in the near future.
