Romeo Hotel Engineering – Thicc-Boi-12 Suppressor

Monday, December 19th, 2022

Romeo Hotel Engineering is a company founded by Riley Hart, a Design Engineer with experience at Heckler & Koch. Riley founded Romeo Hotel to “…explore the unconventional side of new firearms designs…”, and this particular product certainly embodies that philosophy. Dubbed the ‘Thicc-Boi-12’, this fittingly-named suppressor is designed exclusively to work with Standard Manufacturing’s DP-12 pump action shotgun.

Because of the double-barrel design of the DP-12, the Thicc-Boi-12 requires a specially-designed attachment system: a pair of custom-designed 4130 steel extended choke tubes have to be threaded into the barrels, after which the 7075-T6, hard coat anodized aluminum suppressor body slides over the tubes, and the whole assembly is secured using a pair of castle nuts. The whole package adds 8″ and 35 oz. to the end of the gun, while reducing muzzle report between 10 to 15 decibels, dependent on ammunition.

Pre-orders for the Thicc-Boi-12 are currently available directly from Romeo Hotel at romeohoteleng.com/product/thicc-boi-12-silencer

Springfield Armory – SAINT Victor 9mm Carbine

Friday, December 16th, 2022

In recent years, there has been no shortage of firearms manufacturers introducing their own take on the Pistol Caliber Carbine, or PCC, and now Springfield Armory has thrown their own hat in the ring with the SAINT Victor 9mm Carbine. A 9mm variant of Springfield’s popular series of SAINT AR-15 pattern rifles and pistols, the SAINT Victor 9mm Carbine features a direct blowback operation, and sports a range of features in-line with other firearms in the Victor series: ambidextrous safety selector; low-profile, spring-loaded sights; full-length M-LOK handguard; nickel boron coated flat trigger; and B5 Systems furniture, specifically the polymer trigger guard, Bravo stock, and Type 23 P-Grip.

The SAINT Victor 9mm carbine’s receiver set is made of Forged 7075 T6 aluminum, Type III Hardcoat Anodized. The barrel comes in with an overall length of 16″, made of CMV steel with a 1:10 twist rate, Melonite coated; SA’s own 9mm Forward Blast Diverter muzzle device comes standard with the carbine. For a bit of old-school flavor, this carbine feeds from Colt-pattern 9mm magaines, and comes standard with a single 32-round stick.

9/11 Remembered – The Toll

Sunday, September 11th, 2022

It’s been 21 years. Many are still processing turning Afghanistan over to the Taliban just one year ago. It’s not going to get better.

There were 2996 immediate deaths on September 11th, 2001. There were people who cheered that day, celebrating an attack on America. I will never forget them. I will never forgive them. Two decades later, I see members of our government trivialize the events of that day, desecrating the dead with their comments. Two decades and America forgets its dead, abandoning its mission.

Regardless of which way the political winds blow, I remain a patriot. But in a greater sense, I will also always honor those from other nations who stood with us on that day and throughout the ensuing decades of conflict. After all, there were victims from 90 countries on 9/11. A sick ideology attacked the world and despite our efforts, it lives on, dug in like a tick.

The crisis remains. Every year we lose more and more to that fateful day. Victims and rescuers alike suffer life threatening medical conditions due to the exposure to toxins during the attacks and continue to succumb to these lingering wounds. As a country, we must stand by them.

Even now, the world is faced with the continued threat of Islamic fundamentalism that targets our ideals in both word and deed. We must oppose them in every case, lest our efforts thus far, be in vain.

Never Forgive, Never Forget
