SPARTANAT shot some video at IWA including this interview with Max of SOD Gear as he goes over their new Legion line of clothing.
Alta recently unveiled these new 3D knee pads, featuring a unique tread by Vibram making your kneepads as tough as your boots.
At IWA, they had this new tread design in both AltaFLEX and AltaContour styles.
They aren’t available yet on their website, but I expect to see them by this summer.

If you’re looking for a pair of running shorts that were actually designed for running, check out the Euclid, from Rezlo. They are made from 93% Polyester and 7% Elastane.
This image gives you an idea of the fit of the 4.5″ inseam.
However, be aware of the reflective iconography on the shorts.
The Euclid is offered in Sand (seen here and a decent match to Coyote), Charcoal (Black) and Eggshell (Tan).

UF Pro gave everyone a sneak peek of their new color, Frost Grey.
It’s quite a bit lighter than the current Grey shades on the market and will offer a good option for those looking for an alternative Grey. There is already LE interest here in Europe. Look for an official launch from UF Pro this Spring.
Norway’s Devold exhibited their new Tinden Spacer Jacket. This Hooded insulation layer is made from two different weights of stretch, Merino Wool blends and was a Gold winner at the recent ISPO outdoor products show, here in Germany.
The Spacer material which is designed to crate air pockets for insulation consists of 75% Merino Wool, 24% Polyster, and 1% Elastane with a weight of 320 g/m2. The rest of the garment is made from a material consisting of 78% Merino Wool, 18% Polyster, and 4% Elastane with a weight of 350 g/m2.
The Spacer Jacket features a high collar with hood, chest pocket with zip, articulated elbow, two front handwarmer pockets, and thumbhole cuffs.
Devold also offers vests and 3/4 length pants, for both men and women, featuring this Spacer construction.
Austrian brand Carinthia is well known for their excellent cold weather clothing, sleep systems and shelters. This year at IWA they exhibited a new insulating garment based on their -30 Deg C capable, ECIG, which features a shell made from WL Gore & Associates’ Pyrad FR process. The process is applied to fabric such as Gore-Tex windstopper before it is sewn into a garment. It gives a distinctive look, seen below, to any fabric which has received the process. But what is remarkable, is the performance. Pyrad is a self-extinguishing fabric technology that adds heat and flame protection properties to non-FR textiles. What’s more, the inherent qualities of the base fabric are retained. Fabrics still insulate, still wick and are still durable.
Carinthia isn’t the only company incorporating Pyrad into their line. I’m seeing it more and more in the States and IWA opened my eyes to new uses in Europe.
