Blue Force Gear Releases The Greatest Generation Cap

Blue Force Gear has really hit a home run with this new cap. I say new because it’s new to them but the styling is All American. When I was a little kid in the early 70s, my uncles played baseball. They were fanatics about it and had woolen baseball caps which I would “borrow”, and I think they too had gotten them as hand-me-downs. As soon as I saw my first Greatest Generation Cap from BFG I was immediately taken back to those days. This a real American icon, worn by men we could all look up to.

Blue Force Gear gives us a little history of these babies…

Seventy years ago, on the factory floor and the battlefield, America’s greatest generation was hard at work making the world safe for democracy. In their precious down time they played baseball, often wearing ball caps customized with their unit and company logos. Blue Force Gear is honoring that tradition by bringing back their cap. This is no regular store bought cap – just like the 1940’s originals, Blue Force Gear’s Greatest Generation Cap is made from 12oz wool broadcloth with horse hair canvas front stiffening and a leather head band adorned with the new BFG logo in grey felt on the front.

Made in America!

You might note that these have a flat bill. That’s how they used to come. The wearer rolled the bill so that it would take a distinctive shape and shield the eyes from the sun.

Beyond Announces M9 Medic Pant

M9 Medic Pant

At SOMA, Beyond announced the new M9 Medic Pant. The pant is made from milspec 50/50 NyCo Ripstop and features a hook and loop waistband, open hand pockets with mesh lining, universal kneepad pockets, back of knee hook and loop tightening system, and hook and loop ankle closure. However, the primary feature of the M9 Medic Pant is the oversized left and right front facing thigh cargo pockets, designed specifically to fit an IFAK. This placement is optimal because medics often function in a kneeling position when dealing with patients.

Phokus Low Vis Trauma Kit

Interestingly, this pant was developed for use with the Lo Visibility SONS Trauma Kit from Phokus Research Group, which was a customer-driven request. And while these pants are cool, it really demonstrates the flexibility of Beyond in creating user-specific solutions. I overheard several conversations with potential customers at SOMA and this modification really got the creative juices flowing for those who saw it. Beyond is a very dynamic company and I recommend you talk to them if you are looking for a custom clothing solution.

Alias Training & Security Services – Defoor Proformance Shooting Flexfit Trucker Hat

Thursday, December 12th, 2013

Defoor Proformance Hat

It’s been called the greatest shooter & operator accessory in the history of modern firearms. Guaranteed to increase accuracy and make you faster at the same time, it’s first appearance on the scene 3 years ago resulted in increased pregnancies and a shortage of IPSC and NRA bulls nationwide. Made in mesh trucker hat style paying tribute to Kyle’s Alabama upbringing, the DPS logo in patriotic red, white and blue channeling the artistry of the 1950’s when putting your name on something meant everything. It’s sans Velcro, silly Latin sayings, and that damn hole in the back that sunburns the bald, but in a pinch can be used as a signal panel, brass bucket, currency in most countries or a shooting rest for a rifle. The bill can be worn West Coast or Southern Style. When you spot another in this hat it guarantees a like minded friend for life and we look forward to you sending in the pics and stories.

V/R,

Kyle Defoor

“Trainer of Feeders”

Kyle Defoor is a former Special Mission Unit combat decorated Navy SEAL and sniper who served in Afghanistan. Kyle teaches firearms and tactics to military and law enforcement personnel in the United States and worldwide. He also offers marksmanship related open enrollment classes to the public.
