MMI Outdoor Grenade Launcher Holster System

Friday, March 29th, 2013

In addition to the MAG pack we saw last week at the GRF Expo sponsored by Darley Defense, MMI Outdoor also showed us their patent pending M320 Grenade Launcher Holster System.

Developed in response to a need from the field for a tough and intuitive way to carry the M320, the complete M320 Grenade Launcher Holster System consists of the M320 Grenade Launcher Holster, Weapon Leash, and War Belt. In addition to being offered as a kit, all pieces of the system are available separately if needed by end users. This product does not have an NSN.

The M320 Grenade Launcher Holster (GLH) is a semi-rigid, open-topped holster. The weapon slides into place and is secured by a self locking trigger guard clip (seen below). Secondary retention is available with an elastic tubular webbing top strap and side release buckle featuring MMI’s G-tab. the G-tab is a proprietary webbing extension that allows for easy closure of the buckle even when the user is wearing gloves. The completely open top allows any standard optics to be attached to the M320 and still fit easily into the holster. The trigger guard clip is easily field replaceable with a single screw in the unlikely event of breakage in the field. MOLLE allows the GLH to be attached anywhere based on user preference.

SystemRear

The Weapon Leash is a single point harness for an M320. The user can simply girth hitch the loop end of the leash onto their chest rig or harness at a point that is comfortable for them. ITW’s MASH hook at the opposite end allows for easy attachment of the leash to the rear of the grenade launcher. This allows the weapon to be used accurately and safely without the buttstock offering considerable weight savings.

WarBelt

The final piece to this capability is the MMI Outdoor War Belt. It is a combination of an outer MOLLE belt and an inner rigger’s belt creating a supplemental load carriage system. The MOLLE belt is contoured to fit natural motion and add lumbar support to help reduce fatigue on a long movement much like a weight lifter’s belt. The rigger’s belt allows the system to fit waist sizes from 30 to 40 inches and securely hold the load in place.

TGL Reviews – Bushido Tactical’s M.I.R. (Modular Interchangeable Retention)

Monday, February 25th, 2013

The Gear Locker recently ran a review of Bushido Tactical’s M.I.R. (Modular Interchangeable Retention).

20130224-205924.jpg

For the dropleg-style M.I.R., Bushido Tactical has created a hybrid holster that combines a Kydex liner purpose built for each type of handgun with a more generic nylon fabric shell. One advantage to this type of system is that you only need purchase a new liner for each type of firearm. Granted, you’re going to have some set up time, but the cost savings may be just the thing you are looking for.

SHOT Show – DownEast

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

This new Dragon Lock holster retention system from DownEast offers Level 3 retention on a fabric holster. The design is ambidextrous and can be changed with simple tools. It will also work on Kydex or polymer holsters but was really designed for use with fabric holsters.

This is huge for small manufacturers and will be tooled up and ready to go in a month.

Additionally, DownEast has been working to improve how their polymer feed chute actually attaches to the weapon. They’ve developed a new two piece feed chute collar.

HSP Unveils INCOG IWB Holster System by G-Code

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

The INCOG IWB Holster System is a joint development project combining the experience and expertise of two industry leaders with the goal of providing a premium quality, real-world IWB carry system.

Incog

Scott Evans, Director of Operations at G-Code Holsters, attended multiple Haley Strategic weapons manipulation and Disruptive Environments training events during 2012. Throughout these programs, a clear need emerged for a better solution to the IWB carry. After some exploration and discussion, a collaboration began between the two companies to develop a IWB system that solved specific problems with other offerings on the market today.

The INCOG is a minimum bulk, multi-positional, deep concealment holster. It’s distinctive features enable the concealed carry of a handgun from a variety of carry positions while maintaining the tactical availability of the weapon. Inherent in the system are adjustments in the depth of carry, angle of carry, the position of carry and security of carry. Adjustments are supported via the unique modular mounting points on the holster and the use of variable mounting components.

Combined they maximize function respective to the users: body type, deployment tactics and personal preferences. The holster is adaptive to varying operational environments and mission requirements.

Full Incog Kit

The patent pending “INCOG Mounting Clip” is is molded from high strength materials and incorporates a negative angle designed to force the holster closer to the body. This improves the conceal-ability of the holster without increasing bulk and supports a higher positional carry without compromise to the security of the system during use. This higher position facilitates faster weapon presentations from deep cover.

The mounting clips also have multiple mounting points further increasing the range of carry options and adjustments. The unique geometry of the mounting clips open and slide down over the belt and lock in place. The clip is actuated via a finger tab, and is flexed to open allowing quick installation or removal of the rig from the belt.

Incog Holster

The INCOG holster body is precision formed Kydex providing a secure “snap and pop” fit. In addition, a synthetic suede like material lovingly referred to as “Tactical FUZZ” is laminated to the outer shell of the holster. The FUZZ serves as a soft comfort zone between the holster and the body elevating wear-ability over extended periods. More importantly, this material forms a friction zone between the wearer’s garment and the holster. This aids in the positional security of the rig drastically reducing “holster shift” during movement.

The HSP team has extensively tested the INCOG IWB Holster System to meet their exacting operational and performance standards. Likewise; as with all G-Code products, the INCOG comes with a lifetime warranty factory.

Pricing for base system starts at $69.95 For more information: www.tacticalholsters.com/product/INC/INCOG
