Tuesday, October 1st, 2019

October 1, 2019: HIPERFIRE Releases HIPERTECH White Papers.
HIPERFIRE has become known for its trigger products over the past six years finding its most adoptive fan base among competitive 3-gunners. Among all shooters of the AR15 platform, they most appreciate the influence that the intimate connection between the shooter and his trigger plays in the performance of their sport: speed, reliability, and shot-placement accuracy. HIPERFIRE seeks to expose that experience to the broader shooting population. You see, HIPERFIRE triggers are not just for competition, but any application whether by the hunter, home defender, prepper, LEO, or MIL operator. To that end, HIPERFIRE introduces its first pair of technical white papers on the subject of “what makes a good trigger” called HIPERTECH™, short for HIgh PERformance TECHnology. The Bulletin series discusses every imaginable trigger feature that any shooter should consider. Who seeks to improve his skill by utilizing the best that American ingenuity can supply. Bulletins will be released every third consecutive Tuesday beginning today, October 1, 2019. Visit www.hiperfire.com to access the Bulletins and video summaries as they become available.

Company Response to Questions about Colt Participation in Consumer Markets

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (September 19th, 2019) – There have been numerous articles recently published about Colt’s participation in the commercial rifle market. Some of these articles have incorrectly stated or implied that Colt is not committed to the consumer market.  We want to assure you that Colt is committed to the Second Amendment, highly values its customers and continues to manufacture the world’s finest quality firearms for the consumer market.

The fact of the matter is that over the last few years, the market for modern sporting rifles has experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity. Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, our warfighters and law enforcement personnel continue to demand Colt rifles and we are fortunate enough to have been awarded significant military and law enforcement contracts.  Currently, these high-volume contracts are absorbing all of Colt’s manufacturing capacity for rifles.   Colt’s commitment to the consumer markets, however, is unwavering.  We continue to expand our network of dealers across the country and to supply them with expanding lines of the finest quality 1911s and revolvers.

At the end of the day, we believe it is good sense to follow consumer demand and to adjust as market dynamics change. Colt has been a stout supporter of the Second Amendment for over 180 years, remains so, and will continue to provide its customers with the finest quality firearms in the world.

Very respectfully,

Dennis Veilleux, President and Chief Executive Officer

Team Wendy Successfully Overcomes Opposition to Its European CAM FIT Retention System Patent

Thursday, September 12th, 2019

Yesterday in the Hague Netherlands, the European Patent Office (EPO) once again confirmed that Cleveland-based Team Wendy’s European patent directed to its CAM FIT™ Retention System was valid and entitled to a priority date of at least October 2012. The opposition to Team Wendy’s patent was filed by ABG Intellectual Property Law, S.L. against Team Wendy’s sister company that owns the European Patent, Intellectual Property Holdings, LLC (IPH). Although the identity of ABG’s client was not disclosed during the opposition, evidence submitted by ABG directly pointed to FECSA SL, a Spanish company that has been attacking Team Wendy’s CAM FIT™ Retention System IP for more than two years. The EPO found ABG’s opposition unsuccessful on all grounds and Team Wendy’s patent – European Patent No. 2874512 titled “Helmet Retention System” – shall be maintained as granted.

Team Wendy CEO Jose Rizo-Patron said that Team Wendy invests heavily in unique, innovative products and systems designs and will continue to aggressively defend its intellectual property. “We are very pleased with the ruling coming out of the EPO. It is regrettable that this particular company chose a path forward that the EPO has declared a dead-end in lieu of investing in their own design and development. Our IP is firmly grounded and this attempt to have it invalidated was rejected out of hand by the EPO,” he said. “The CAM FIT™ Retention System has been tremendously successful and remains the gold standard for tactical helmet systems worldwide.”

Team Wendy was represented in the opposition by Dr. Matthew Barton of Forresters in Munich, Germany and Mark W. McDougall of Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP in Cleveland, Ohio.
