G T Distributors Establishes Employee Stock Ownership Plan

Monday, February 12th, 2018

G T Distributors is now Employee-Owned!

G T Distributors is pleased to announce that effective January 26th, 2018, 55% of the company’s stock has been sold to its employee’s retirement plan, through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The Texas-based public safety equipment and uniform distributor’s 100+ employees will become beneficial owners through the ESOP.
This transaction gives employees a financial interest in the success of the business, making the positive bonds between G T Distributors teammates even stronger than they are today. It also rewards those who have played a critical role in G T’s success since the beginning.

Jim Orr, celebrating 35 years with GT, plans to remain President for the long-term and the executive management team at GT will continue in its current form. “It has always been my desire for GT to continue being privately owned and managed, and the ESOP will help us achieve this goal, “said Orr, “The ESOP will enable the continuity of leadership and transition the company from family owned to employee owned. The management team is confident that the ESOP will make us an even stronger company.”

“Seeing the consolidation over the past few years in the public safety equipment and uniform space through mergers and acquisitions, we looked for other avenues of transitioning GT from a family business to something longer term that kept existing management in place and ensured our employees and their families continued job security. So often customer service suffers after an acquisition and faithful employees lose their jobs as they are duplicated elsewhere in the acquiring entity. We feel our existing management and staff know our customers best and understand the company’s future direction.”

Today G T Distributors employs more than 100 employees based in Austin TX, Dallas TX, Jacksonville FL, and Rossville GA. G T Distributors core purpose is supplying Public Safety personnel with the equipment it takes to keep our communities safe and allow them to return home safely at the end of their shift. G T was established in 1972 by Bill and Charlotte Orr in Rossville GA and we believe they would be proud to know of the company’s transition to employee ownership.

North American Rescue Announces Acquisition Of JTM Training Group

Sunday, February 11th, 2018

Greer, SC (February 5, 2018) North American Rescue, LLC (NAR) is pleased to announce the acquisition of JTM Training Group (JTM) from Las Vegas, NV. JTM has over 20 years of experience providing tactical and medical training to military, law enforcement, EMS, and first responder personnel.

JTM Training Group has a strong history of offering premium evidence-based medicine education and training solutions for military and first responders. As a leader in their industry, they have been offering online EMT certification/re-certification courses since 2006 and are considered one of the most trusted online EMT providers in the world. Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) courses are also available, providing hands-on combat medical training that adheres to the TCCC Standardization Guidelines. Finally, their team of experienced and knowledgeable instructors enables them to provide customized opportunities for immersive, scenario-driven courses that are tailored to meet mission-specific requirements.

This broad range of training capabilities makes JTM an ideal addition to the NAR company goal of providing “products with a mission.” NAR has long recognized that successful life-saving treatment may begin with the right equipment, but the key elements of education to know when to use and training to know how to use that gear are requisites for desirable outcomes.

“North American Rescue has always been committed to equipping the warfighter and first responders with what they need to save lives,” said Robert Castellani, CEO of North American Rescue, LLC. “We are pleased to bring the JTM team onboard. For years we have been asked for training opportunities by customers of our premium products. We are confident that JTM’s solutions will enable us to exceed expectations for leading-edge education and training experiences and that the options of online, in-person, or even mobile training events will provide accessibility to premium training that meets and exceeds requirements.”

JTM Training Group will be changing their name to “North American Rescue Education and Training” (NAR Training), and will transition to new branding during the second quarter of 2018. Their website will remain fully functional, and courses will continue to be run and offered throughout the transition.

Let No Good Deed Go Unpunished

Thursday, February 1st, 2018

This young lady is named Rochelle Hathaway. She was interviewed for a Glamour magazine article which asked women attendees of last week’s SHOT Show in Las Vegas why they owned firearms. This airline attendant was at the show as part of team Taran Tactical. Her answers resulted in an Internet firestorm and Taran Butler cut ties with her.

Unfortunately, in this photo used in the article, she was wearing a badge holders generously given away as swag by Geissele Automatics. Due to this coincidence, the backlash against her also hit Geissele. Earlier today, they had to release this statement:

Many of you have seen this photo and the story of this person over the last few days. Unfortunately in the photo she is wearing a Geissele Badge Holder. We want to make it clear to the community that Geissele has no personal or professional connection to this person what so ever. Every year at SHOT Show we give away over 10,000 badge holders to those in attendance who request one from our booth staff. We do not know this person and we certainly do not support her anti-freedom comments. Geissele is extremely pro 2nd amendment and is in no way supportive of any discussion involving the limitation or restriction of Our rights and Our freedoms.

Considering how dedicated Bill Geissele supports the Second Amendment the outrage is ridiculous. It just goes to show you how an innocent gesture can get a company swept up in an internet mob. Hopefully, the torches and pitch forks will be put away.
