Mission Ready’s Protect The Force Wins TEEX Award

Thursday, October 27th, 2016

VANCOUVER, B.C. – October 27, 2016 – Mission Ready Services Inc. (“Mission Ready” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: MRS) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Protect The Force Inc. is the winner of the US DoD’s Defense to Response (D2R) Technology Program. D2R is the Domestic Preparedness Support Initiative’s (DPSI) Technology Transition Program that identifies three technologies, annually, and provides the full services of Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s Product Development Center (TEEX PDC) to commercialize these technologies to enhance public safety and homeland security.
Protect the Force traveled as one of 11 Finalists to College Station, Texas to participate in the Defense to Response Technology Showcase. After two rounds of judging, Protect the Force presented their Flex9Armor™ technology to a final panel of judges and was selected to receive $110,000 worth of services from TEEX PDC.
Flex9Armor™, first developed and adopted by the U.S. Military, is comprised of a family of protective garments that provide stringent levels of ballistic protection and are simultaneously lightweight and flexible. Traditional Armor lacks coverage of the arms, chest and neck region of the body, and current additional protection for these areas adds weight and reduces mobility. Flex9Armor™ incorporates a network of NIJ Level II and IIIA body armor panels into a breathable anti-microbial material that is 30% lighter than conventional armor. Integrating all of these features into one combined garment makes Flex9Armor™ a superior option for first responders.
Last year alone, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (“TEEX”) served more than 168,000 people from every U.S. state and territory and 82 countries worldwide. TEEX is a leader in the delivery of emergency response, homeland security and workforce training and exercises, technical assistance, and economic development. The Product Development Center at TEEX utilizes these resources and networks to test, develop and launch products using the proven Think, Build, Sell method. Through the D2R Program, PDC will provide Protect the Force with market intelligence, product testing and a TEEX TESTED® report, business and responder mentors, and access to investors.
The Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Preparedness Support Initiative (DPSI), in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security, coordinates DoD efforts to identify, evaluate, deploy and transfer technology, items and equipment to Federal, state and local first responders. The Defense to Response Technology Program is sponsored and supported by DPSI.
“We are extremely honored to have been chosen for this program and proud of a product that we believe will make a difference to the first responder community here at home and around the world” states Francisco Martinez, Chief Technology Officer, MRS.

The Q Ball – SHOT Show 2017

Monday, October 24th, 2016

Traditionally, Kevin Brittingham has been known for holding some really great SHOT show parties at the Rio’s Voodoo Lounge. If you want to know what a Kevin Brittingham SHOT Show party is like, this  video from 2010 features MiniKISS. It was a rocking good time.

Now that he has the new company Q, why should things be any different? In fact, I’d bet The Q Ball will be even better.

You need to four important things about this event: Zip line, party, girls, fun! Sounds great, right? Be Military, Government or an Industry customer, and you are the kind of person this party is meant for. However, it’s invite only, so the only way to get a pass is through a sponsor, or Q. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of passes as the venue holds only about 500 people. There are still sponsorship packages available and interested parties can reach out to jessica@qllcgroup.com for more info.

If a cool party atmosphere wasn’t enough of a reason to go, how about some business? The Q Ball will feature product releases as well as giveaways and an auction to benefit the great work of the Special Operations Care-Fund.

As an aside for those of you who attend all of these parties at SHOT Show, that graphic gives you an idea of what they cost. So think about that next time you’re sucking down booze provided by a company that you’ll never buy a thing from. Vegas isn’t cheap and Q isn’t making money here, they’re just paying the going rate.

Mike Rowe to Headline 2017 SHOT Show State of the Industry Dinner

Thursday, October 20th, 2016

NSSF is pleased to announce that Executive Producer, Narrator, and TV Host Mike Rowe will provide the headlining entertainment for the 2017 SHOT Show State of the Industry Dinner.

Mike Rowe is best known as the “dirtiest man on TV,” a title he earned on the hit TV series Dirty Jobs, where he completed 300 different jobs traversing all 50 states and transformed cable television into a landscape of swamps, sewers, and coal mines. He has narrated hundreds of documentaries about space, nature, dinosaurs, serial killers, and how stuff works. Most recently, Rowe launched The Way I Heard It, a weekly five-minute podcast of mysteries for the curious mind with a short attention span. He has also forged a handful of partnerships with iconic brands and filmed a boatload of Ford commercials.

As CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, Rowe speaks regularly about the country’s dysfunctional relationship with work, the widening skills gap, and challenging the persistent belief that a four-year degree is automatically the best path to take for the most people. The mikeroweWORKS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides financial assistance to people getting trained for skilled jobs that are in demand. Through scholarship programs, like the Work Ethic Scholarship Program, the Foundation has helped grant more than $3 million in technical and/or vocational education for trade schools across the country.

“We’re thrilled to have Mike Rowe speak at our annual State of the Industry Dinner, and it’s not hard to see why,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “He is a champion of hard work, fairness and common sense; he has worked tirelessly as an advocate of America’s blue-collar worker; and his philanthropic efforts to put people back to work in skilled jobs have resonated from America’s big cities to its heartland. He’s also one of the most entertaining speakers around, and we think his message is one that everyone at the State of the Industry Dinner will appreciate.”

NSSF’s annual State of the Industry Dinner will take place the first evening of the 2017 SHOT Show, Tuesday, January 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening will begin with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres hour. Following the social hour will be a gourmet dinner, then a variety of industry award presentations and the state of the industry address by Steve Sanetti, NSSF President and CEO, before the stage is given over to Mike Rowe. Individual tickets to the event are $125 for NSSF members and $145 for non-members. Tables of 10 can be purchased for $1,150 by NSSF Members and $1,350 by non-members. Seating is limited and this event will sell out, so those wishing to attend are urged to purchase their tickets early. For more information, visit the event’s page.
