the-siege_logoed

Streamlight’s ‘The Siege’ is a compact, akaline hand lantern. It features two LED modes:

White LED – four C4 LEDs
– High; 340 lumens with a 30 hour run time
– Medium; 175 lumens with a 70 hour run time
– Low; 33 lumes with a 295 hour run time

Red LED – one red LED
– High; steady night vision preserving mode – 10 lumens with a 235 hour run time
– Flash SOS mode; 10 lumens with a 430 hour run time

The Siege comes with a polycarbonate glare-reducing cover that provides soft, even 360° light distribution. The cover is removable to illuminate larger areas. Incorporated D-rings are featured on the top and bottom of the lantern and are spring-loaded to stow against the light, out of the way when not in use. The handle is designed to lock in either an upright or stowed position.

The Siege uses three D-cell alkaline batteries, and the battery door is keyed to facilitate battery replacement in the dark. The power button is recessed to prevent accidental actuation, and the lantern also features a battery level indicator – green, to yellow, to red, then to flashing red when batteries are at the end of useable life.

The Siege is constructed from durable polymer with a rubber molded base. It’s certified IPX7 waterproof to 1m submersion, 2m impact resistance tested, and it floats for easy retrieval from water.

Metal_Molle_Attached

Alpha-Tac’s ExtremeBeam line of flashlights now has a modular attachment in the Metal Molle. Designed specifically for use with all ExtremeBeam XT8 flashlights, the Metal Molle turns a normally straight-bodied flashlight into a hands-free angled light with 720 feet of projection and three flexible usage settings. The Metal Molle is constructed from solid bar-stock aluminum and features dual shock pins for additional durability.

The Metal Molle was initially designed for European firefighters, and is a great option for those with wrist dexterity problems looking for a method to perform traditional flashlight tactical maneuvers. It’s also useful with industry, military, law enforcement, or anyone else looking for a durable, mountable, angled flashlight.

SureFire EB2 – A 2-Cell Backup Light

EB2_backpack

The EB2 Backup is a higher-output, two-battery version of the EB1 Backup you are all familiar with. It is a dual-output flashlight (5 Lumens and 500 Lumens) designed as a backup light for patrol officers or as a primary light for plainclothes officers. SureFire also recommends it for outdoor, self-defense, and everyday-carry use.

Powered by two 123A lithium batteries, the EB2 Backup features a LED emitter and a precision Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens. The EB2 is constructed of high-strength aerospace aluminum that has been Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized and O-ring sealed to protect against the elements.

This useful dual-output light comes in two versions: a click-type tailcap switch or tactical tailcap switch. To activate the EB2 with a click-type switch, just press or click the tailcap pushbutton once for the tactical-level 500-lumen high beam that can reach deep into the night or overwhelm an aggressor’s dark-adapted vision. Return to off and press or click again within two seconds to activate the 5-lumen low beam, useful for navigating, loading gear, and other tasks that don’t require a lot of light. With the tactical tailcap version of the EB2, press for momentary-on low, press farther for momentary-on high, and twist the tailcap for constant-on activation at either level.

EB2-TN

All EB2 models are available in Black or Tan.

Features and Benefits:
• Two output levels—high for maximum light, low for extended runtime
• Two tailcap switch options: click-on/off or press-for-momentary activation/twist-for-constant-on
• TIR lens produces tight beam with reach and enough surround light for peripheral vision
• Coated, tempered window resists impact and maximizes light output
• Two-way clip permits light to be carried head up or down, or clipped to a hat brim or bill
• Weatherproof O-ring and gasket sealing
• Powered by two included 123A lithium batteries with 10-year shelf life
• Backed by SureFire’s No-Hassle Promise

MDM – Princeton Tec

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013

It might be an oldie but a goodie but the Apex headlamp just transitioned to a 275 lumen version.

20130925-103843.jpg

This version relies on 2 x CR123As but there is also a rechargeable version as well as a variant that uses 4 x AAs. There are four area lights in white or red that offer general illumination in high or low power. These are paired with a 275 lumens spot light with high or low. This is regulated light meaning you’ll get the full 275 lumens for a longer period before dropping off and they have incorporated both a heat sink and low battery indicator. Waterproof to 1m. All for under $100.

SureFire Releases 600 Lumen Dedicated Shotgun Forend

DSF-870

SureFire has completely re-invented its Dedicated Shotgun Forend WeaponLights. The new DSF-Series Shotgun Forend models are the latest addition to SureFire’s class of integrated weapon-mounted lights and feature an ultra-high-output of 600 lumens on its high setting and 200 lumens on its lower setting. Additional features include a precision reflector, ambidextrous switching, and sleek high-impact polymer that is textured for a secure grip in any tactical situation.

The new Dedicated Shotgun Forend models are designed to replace the factory forends on the Remington 870, Mossberg 500/590, Winchester Defender 1300, SPX and Fabrique Nationale d’Herstal (FNH) P-12, Benelli M1 Super 90 and M2 models. No permanent modification to host weapon is necessary for installation, and all models seamlessly integrate into place of the factory forend.

The DSF features large, tactile momentary and constant-on switches on both sides for precise control by left- and right-handed shooters. Selecting the LED’s output is achieved by activating the light in constant-on mode and then pressing the output-mode selector switch until the desired output level (600 or 200 lumens) is set. The selected output can then be left in constant-on mode or switched to momentary activation, and it stays at that output level until reset. Every DSF-Series WeaponLight also features an integrated system-disable switch to prevent accidental activation during transport, storage, or stealth operations.

All DSF models produce tactical-level light (over 50 lumens) for 3 hours on two 123A lithium batteries.

Elzetta High Output Flashlights

Monday, September 16th, 2013

Elzetta HO Lights

Elzetta has announced its new line of High Output options for its line of tactical flashlights. When fitted to an Elzetta 2-cell body, the new high output head produces 650 lumens with a runtime of 1.5 hours. The same head fitted on a 3-cell body produces an output of 900 lumens with a runtime of 1.7 hours, possible due to the patent-pending Automatic Voltage Sensing technology featured in the heads.

Elzetta HO Head Disassembled

The new high output heads incorporate a solid-acrylic field-replaceable optical lens, providing outstanding throw, generous spill, and a “soft edge” that no reflector-based flashlight can replicate. The high output head is available with either a smooth standard bezel right or optional Crenellated Bezel Ring.
