FirstSpear Friday Focus – Viking Patrol Harness

For this week’s Friday Focus, we’re taking a look at the Viking Patrol Harness, in ATACS ATX.

The Viking Patrol Harness (VPH) was developed with direct input from FS Professional Users who specialize in, and are Subject Matter Experts in, Extreme Cold Weather Operations in Mountainous Terrain. The VPH features 3 fixed full flapped magazine pockets capable of each holding one or two 30 round 5.56 magazines, and a fixed radio pouch that holds radios of similar size to the AN/PRC-148 MBITR. Modular 6/12 Panels on each side will accept the complete line of FS 6/9 or 6/12 pockets as well as any older pockets using a MOLLE style PALS compatible attachment system. Currently the VPH is being manufactured with the following 6/9 accessory pockets: Arctic Canteen & Cold Weather General Purpose with 2 External Pistol Magazine Pockets.

Cummerbund adapter with Flap

The new cummerbund adapter with flap allows the user to mount additional accessory pouches to the front and rear of the cummerbund by utilizing the integrated MOLLE/PALS system. Attached to the front of the PlateFrame, the cummerbund adapter was designed for reinforced strength and modularity.

The cummerbund adapter with flap and radio pouch, allows the user to secure a handheld radio to either side of the PlateFrame while providing an attachment point for a MOLLE/PALS compatible component or pouch to be attached to the front side of the pouch. The integrated pouch design secures the radio along the inside of the adapter closer to the front plate for enhanced comfort.

Dump Pouch

The S&S dump pouch consists of non-hydroscopic material and mesh that was designed to be self-draining, easily allowing water and debris to escape from the pouch with no user interaction. The pouch will not absorb water; eliminating unwanted weight gain. The pouch was designed to hold up to seven standard 30 round 5.56 magazines. A one handed bungee retention system allows for easy access when desired and quickly secures the pouches contents when pulled tight. When not in use, the dump pouch rolls up into a tight/low profile package. The pouch is belt and MOLLE/PALS compatible.

SOTech To Launch New Versions Of Viper Flat IFAK

SOTECH will be debuting new versions of its Viper Flat IFAK with new belt configurations and a Hypalon version. The popular lower back sleeve IFAK carrier has been adopted by US SOF units and international SOF units, as well as a federal law enforcement agency. SOTECH will also display the Speed Clip Patrol Officer IFAK and Patrol Speed Clip Belt Tourniquet Carrier that was just selected as standard issue to LA Sheriffs Department. SOTECH will display its SOF Medical Equipment Set, the official issue medical nylon gear for Special Forces Medics (18D). SOMA will take place in San Marcos, Texas on December 15 and 16 this year.

High Ground is proud to release its new PARATUS Tactical Carrier and the Releasable Advanced Plate Carrier (APC-R). These two new carriers are a result of working with Teams in the in the field and an in depth test and evaluation process. Both are constructed of 500D Cordura, Interior spacer mesh, interior map pockets and most importantly; MADE IN THE USA and Berry Compliant.

The PARATUS is a SPEAR/BALCS shaped and grade armor system, which will be offered in SM-XL sizes with the ability to accept SAPI, ESAPI, Shooter and Rec ballistic plates in a separate top loading plate pocket both front and rear. The PARATUS also has the ability to be outfitted with optional throat, collar, groin, and bicep armored accessories with one of High Ground’s NIJ 0101.06 compliant armor packages for 360 degree protection.

The Advanced Plate Carrier-Releasable (APC-R) is High Ground’s new plate carrier system, which is a single pull ambidextrous “adjustable” cable system. This system allows the user to choose to release/remove his/her cummerbund only for medical needs or completely remove cable for the complete vest to be doffed. The APC-R also allows the user to separately drop/jettison his/her plates using the plate pocket drop system. The APC-R is a fully adjustable plate carrier system with adjustable plate pocket straps, padded cummerbund, and real time adjustable pivot points for the shoulder straps.
