Gellman Gear Tactical – Team USA RWB Plate Carrier

RWB Plate Carrier

We put this picture up on our Facebook page and it garnered a lot of attention, so in the interest of cool, custom gear, here’s the story:

The Team USA RWB (Red, White, and Blue) Plate Carrier was made by Fayetteville-based Gellman Gear Tactical as a small run for a specific group. Recently, they posted an auction on eBay for a custom version made to order for the winner. It was listed as being made from 1000D nylon with MilSpec elastic/webbing, buckles, and thread, removable shoulder pads, and a three (3) cell pouch “sized for 12-24 oz canned beverages”, built around the SAPI plate size requested. Although that auction has ended, don’t fret – there may be more of these carriers available at an undisclosed time if Gellman is able to source the proper hardware.

Keep an eye out on the Gellman Gear Tactical Facebook page and gellmangear.wordpress.com for more information.

Shellback Tactical – Great New Updates On The Banshee And More

Monday, July 14th, 2014

Jacksboro, Tennessee July 14, 2014 – Michael Wratten of Shellback Tactical announced today some important and exciting updates on their business and Banshee® line of products.

We have some exciting news for you. We’ve received a lot of feedback on the Banshee® from customers and we listened. The Banshee® Plate carrier line is being enhanced with some great new features. Going forward the newest versions of the Banshee® Plate Carrier Line will be updated and made out of 500D Cordura® vs 1000D Cordura®. As we transition there may still be some 1000D out there. The design of both the Banshee® Original and Banshee® QD will remain true to the core design; with the addition of new color offerings and a new add on. All Banshees will now come standard with a pair of lightweight shoulders pads. Many of you use our premium Banshee® Shoulder pads, and rest assured these will still be available as an upgrade and are not going away.

On colors we’ve expanded those for the Banshee® line as well. It’s now available for order in Operator Grey and ATACS LE as *New Color* options. Another great thing we updated is the price. The Banshee® Plate Carrier and Banshee® QD will now be set at the same price of $199.99 for either version. This is a great $50.00 savings on the Banshee QD that was originally at $249.99.

All Shellback Tactical products are still backed 100% with our Lifetime Warranty. Shellback is growing fast to meet our customer’s needs. We proudly manufacture all of our products in our own facility, with an American workforce located in Tennessee, Made in the USA & Berry Compliant. On new products we have added several to the line up to include our Hybrid Cobra Belt, many new pouches and armor options. Check our website regularly to see the new products. LBT Partners with HSGI to Offer Mission Adaptive Panel with TACO

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

Back in May, during Warrior West, we showed you the first images of the Mission Assault Panel System developed by LBT Inc along with Chris Costa. Right away guys started asking if LBT could incorporate HSGI‘s popular TACO ammunition carrier into the design. The two companies started talking and the impossible happened. During Warrior East, LBT will unveil this new collaboration with HSGI.

LBTxHSGI - TACO MAP

LBT sent us this statement:

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Das Ding

Friday, June 27th, 2014

Each week we focus on a different aspect of FirstSpear. This week, it’s once again my pleasure to discuss Das Ding. I originally wrote about it a little over a year ago, offering up the first photos of how it is employed. Das Ding is German for ‘The Thing’ and that’s a pretty apt description. It’s a thing that adapts to the mission and kind of reminds me of a money belt on steroids. I fell in love with it for low-viz and SERE application. I am a big fan and it is a great low profile carry option for the tools you need to get your job done. What you carry is really limited by your imagination.

FS_DasDing

Made from Tweave, Das Ding incorporates 11 sewn pockets that allow you to configure your load any way you like. Once you’ve got it loaded, you slightly stretch Das Ding when you put it on. Then you overlay the Velcro panels to close it around you like a cummerbund. There’s plenty of contact with a 4.5″ x 6″ hook panel that connects to an even larger loop panel for adjustability. Additionally, you can close it in front or rear based on where you want to carry your load. You may want a smooth front or perhaps you want to be able to reach inside your jacket to access something.

Das Ding Front

The softshell stretch fabric accommodates a variety of items and grip enhancement panels on the inside of the pockets and security stretch cords keep them in place.

FS_Das Radio

Although it’s not a purpose built holster, you can even carry a gun.

FS Das Ding

Grip enhancement panels on the inside of the pockets and security stretch cords are included and can be attached as required. this item can be worn empty under your load carriage platform and blouse. Available in 4 sizes (S, M, L, XL), corresponding to the AGB. Offered in Black, Coyote, Ranger Green and MultiCam.

Order a Das Ding and FirstSpear will also ship a free FS Logo T-Shirt.

US PALM has developed their new Agile Combat System (ACS) gear system around rapid plug-and-play mission driven adaption. Developed over a period of roughly 18 months, ACS consists of three main platform options: the Desert Tracker Plate Carrier (DTPC), the AK Attack Rack v2 (AKAR v2), and the Multi-Platform Attack Rack (MPAR).

Adaptability is key with ACS gear. It starts with a front platform, after which the user can decide on hard attached entertainment back solutions, which are completely removable.
