50% Off MAS Grey from LBT

Thursday, March 7th, 2013

LBT is offering 50% OFF while supplies last on the remaining items of MAS Grey while they T&E new products to be released in the near future.

MAS (Maritime Assault Suit) Grey was introduced into the SOF community as a color variance that would provide optimum environment blending for our Sea, Air, Land Teams. Shades of grey have a history of minimal identifiability, working well within most environments, due to its lack of visibility/contrast across the color spectrum.

Blue Force Gear Introduces BELTminus

Monday, March 4th, 2013

One of the best hidden gems at SHOT Show was Blue Force Gear’s BELTminus. Based on their proven Helium Whisper technology it was sort of hidden in plain sight in the corner of their booth and unfortunately eclipsed by the unveiling of Blue Force Gear’s new signature pack collaboration with Chris Costa.

BELTminus

So what’s this BELTminus thing anyway? Well in a nutshell, it’s a modernized version of the old load carriage belt and suspender combo worn for centuries. Like I said, Blue Force Gear has revived this older style but updated it with their Helium Whisper technology making it lighter and stronger than previous models out there. Additionally, as the military begins to shift focus toward hot wet (ie jungle) environments, the fact that this material won’t soak up a bunch of water is pretty desirable. Naturally, the whole kit and caboodle is PALS compatible so you can configure as much or as little load as you need. Additionally, they are offering two mesh-lined shoulder strap versions; the enhanced padded model and the low profile, free breathing model.

“We’ve gone back to the basics with BELTminus.” said Ashley Burnsed, Blue Force Gear’s CEO. “The classic belt kit had a lot to offer the modern warrior but the concept needed updating. We applied our MOLLEminus technology to bring the belt kit into the 21st century, making it the lightest modular system available.”

The new BELTminus moves your load down on to your waist and is intended for applications where you won’t be wearing full armor carriers. In addition to jungle and maritime applications, this could also mean concealed use under an over garment.

This is a sized item because they don’t want you to have to carry around a bunch of excess material. Determine size by tape measuring your true waist size where the BELTminus will be worn over clothing with sizing ranging from XSmall – XLarge.

Available now in MultiCam with Urban Wolf Grey and Coyote coming soon.

Military Mountain and Cold Weather Work Shop – Armor and Load Carriage

Thursday, February 21st, 2013

FirstSpear dominated the armor and load carrying discussion as Dave Kent discussed the various attributes of their Tubes and 6/12 Technologies. For guys who are having trouble wrapping their heads around 6/12, FirstSpear also has the new 6/9 attachment that is also PALS-compatible but is lighter and actually holds pouches closer to the platform than traditional MOLLE.

He also took the attendees back to the future by introducing them to the concept of purpose built panels for armor carriers. Because you can change out the front and rear panels of their carriers, you can integrate panels that are permanently configured for different loads. This helps reduce weight which is particularly desirable in mountain environments.

MOLLE Handle: Predator Armament Exclusive

Thursday, February 21st, 2013

Zero Division Signature Management initially came up with this solution for adding a handle to PALS compatible gear.

Predator Armament is now exclusively offering the MOLLE Handle. It is manufactured by OC Tactical and has undergone several iterations before the final product was completed as seen here. Each end piece insert is reinforced for long term use. Predator told us that it is more likely that the webbing stitching will give out before you have any issues with the integrity of the handle. This really increases the versatility of your pouches and is simple to use. You fold and then slide the T-bar into a PALS channel and then unfold the T-bar. Once in place, it holds fast.

Color options include MultiCam, Foliage, Ranger Green, Coyote 498, Black A-TACS FG, and A-TACS AU Camo.

TYR Tactical XFrame Dynamic Load Carriage

Tuesday, February 12th, 2013

Xframe_Brokos_Movement_2

Using a hybrid composite of Polyethylene, Nylon and Carbon Fiber Stays, XFrame Dynamic Load Carriage moves with the body. According to TYR, it utilizes the active hip to create a cross sectional load to the opposing muscular structure. This allows for dynamic movement of the body (twisting, turning, bending, and rotational movement of the hips). The XFrame stays free-float within cross channels in the carrier and have secure limiter straps that can be adjusted for maximum range of movement.

The XFrame Dynamic Load Carriage is compatible with all carriers in the PICO family.
