He is also editor of Hunter’s Handbook, the official publication of the International Hunter Education Association-USA. He has hunted and fished throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Africa. Arterburn, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, was a reporter for daily newspapers prior to working at Cabela’s, mostly as Corporate Communications Manager. Adam Heggenstaller

Adam Heggenstaller is the Executive Editor of American Hunter, an Official Journal of the National Rifle Association with a monthly circulation of nearly one million member-readers. Heggenstaller has held the position since 2014, having previously served on the staff of Shooting Illustrated, another NRA Publications title, for 10 years. At American Hunter, Adam oversees technical reviews of firearms, optics and ammunition, assembles a department of practical how-to tips, works with dozens of contributors in generating feature content, and helps support the magazine’s companion website, AmericanHunter.org, and its related social media properties. Adam grew up hunting squirrels and whitetails in central Pennsylvania, and while he now chases game and adventure around the world, he still savors the tradition of hunting near home. He strives to give his two children as much opportunity to hunt and roam the woods as he had as a boy.

Richard Mann

Born and raised in West Virginia, Richard has hunted from the Montana Mountains to the green hills of Africa. He has a military, law enforcement, firearms instructing, and competitive shooting background, and is the author of Rifle Bullets for the Hunter, Handgun Training for Personal Protection, Shooter’s Guide to the AR, Under Orion, and The Scout Rifle Study. A hillbilly at heart, Richard lives on Shadowland – his shooting range in West Virginia – with the most understanding wife in the world, their three kids, and a very protective Rhodesian ridgeback.

Alfredo Rico

Alfredo Rico is a freelance writer and photographer from Brentwood, California. In 2009, he started his career in the firearms industry as a photographer, contributing photos to many of the popular newsstand publications. Over the years, he has become a passionate student of the gun, a writer, and a hunter. His work regularly appears in Guns & Ammo, AR-15, Rifle Shooter, Precision Rifle Shooter, Personal Defense, and many other publications. His memorable hunts include, hunting iguanas in the soaking humidity of Puerto Rico, chasing the elusive Aoudad in Texas, and dove hunting in Argentina. Veteran-run Strike-Hold blog is BACK

Thursday, November 8th, 2018

Just in time for Veterans’ Day, Strikehold.net is back on-line! Following a catastrophic hardware loss a couple of years ago it seemed that the site was going to be lost forever, but thanks to the hard work and diligence of a couple of great supporters – and to The Wayback Machine – the site is now back on-line and updated with a new look and fresh content.

The blog is named after the motto of the 504th Airborne Infantry Regiment in which the Founder and Editor-in-Chief served, and is dedicated to all airborne and special operations forces. Strike-Hold is not just a news site, nor just a review site, it is also not a typical ‘military media’ site either – it is a unique blend of all of these things, and more…

The Strike-Hold! blog has always been, and will always continue to be, an independent and authoritative source of real information about and relevant to military and law enforcement personnel, private military contractors, outdoor & survival enthusiasts, MilSim airsofters, camouflage geeks, and military history enthusiasts.

Whether your interest is in gear, uniforms, weapons, equipment, or bigger issues, you are sure to find something of interest.

Stay safe – be dangerous – and read on…
