ITTS HH-60 CASEVAC Training Simulators

Tuesday, June 4th, 2013

The Innovative Tactical Training Solutions HH-60 CASEVAC Training Simulator is an accurate representation of an H-60 cabin that offers accurate crew positions including realistic crew securing landmarks, allowing securing of patients as well as aircraft lighting (white, green/ blue).

It provides the capability to train appropriate personnel on the proper methods of administering medical aid to occupants from the interior of a structure within the parameters of a training exercise in multiple conditions and can even be set up to simulate an H-60 crash.

The remote PC controlled unit, with a custom designed interface allows for an increase/decrease in the level of stress on the trainee via the control of environmental factors, including light, noise, wind (fans), water, smoke (foggers), and other specialized components. Factors can also be controlled manually via the Sensory Control Unit (SCU) which comes with the simulator and is seen above.

The HH-60 CASEVAC Training Simulator is available for unit and agency purchase through ADS Inc.

TQ Hate – What Gives?

I gotta say, based on the feedback I’ve seen online regarding the counterfeit tourniquets, it looks like there is a lot of hate for tourniquets out there. What’s the deal guys?

Counterfeit CAT Tourniquets Have Infiltrated Ontario Provincial Police

Tuesday, May 28th, 2013

Back in 2010 we first warned you about the Element CAT Tourniquets which were manufactured offshore as props for milsim players.

Now, our friends at CTOMS, a Canadian firm that specializes in tactical medicine training and product development has alerted us to a deployment of these fake tourniquets with the Ontario Provincial Police. I am flabbergasted that it has gone as far as it has and you have got to take a few minutes to go read this crazy story.

privatebloggins.ca/?p=852

We’ve known that the Element tourniquets were dangerous if used for real applications but the demonstration by CTOMS shows just how bad it is. Turn up your volume to hear the ultrasound.

These are NOT lifesaving devices and it is a shame that a company sold them to a law enforcement agency as though they were, and worse still that OPP continues to issue them to their officers in spite of being made aware of the issue. Please take the time to ensure that you are carrying a legitimate, life-saving tourniquet.

Elder Heart

Tuesday, May 28th, 2013

Tom Spooner emailed me over this past weekend to tell me about the new cause called Elder Heart. In his email he shared something that really hit home.

“We honor our Beloved Dead by the Lives we Choose to Live. So Live and Love as hard and as fast as you can, each and every day. Everyday is Memorial day!!
CONTINUE!!!”

That said so much about the issue at hand. 22 Veterans commit suicide each day. For me, that’s an epidemic that is killing my brothers and sisters. Too many are coming home with invisible wounds and too many are unemployed, losing hope in their futures. Elder Heart was created to help turn the tide for our Veterans.

Elder Heart is creating a mountain top retreat in Morganton, North Carolina where Veterans from all backgrounds can go to find rest, training, employment and ultimately, to heal.

The program is in its infancy but is taking off like a rocket. Most of the legal paperwork has been done and right now they are in the process of waiting on their tax exempt status. That’s a point for some who might not want to donate yet because donations are not guaranteed for the write off. But, this isn’t just about donating some money to a cause. This is about saving our most precious asset, those men and women who have served, from being hopelessly lost.

SOFIC – Raven Concealment Systems Low Viz Blowout Kit

Friday, May 17th, 2013

Here are a couple of shots of the new RCS Low Viz Blowout Kit. This kit is mounted on a Raven Concealment Systems ModuLoader Frame.

The Tourniquet Holder design is from Eleven 10.

The tourniquet carrier uses no straps or flaps, yet securely holds a CAT TQ in any position. The best part about this component is that it requires no secondary motions to deploy the TQ; simply grab the CAT and draw it from the carrier.

The mini-blow out kit uses a compact pull-out pouch containing a trauma dressing, Quick Clot Combat Gauze, Russell Chest Seal, and a pair of gloves.

Tribalco Integrated Casualty Solution

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

The Tribalco Integrated Casualty Solution (TICS) is the official medical set of the USSOCOM TCCC CASEVAC Program. The first Set was fielded in June of 2012 and multiple SOCOM elements have already deployed with the equipment. Unique to this medical set, in addition to the advanced medical equipment, is the focus on battlefield rescue of trauma casualties. Realizing that you can’t treat a patient that you can’t access, the Set includes specialized extrication, climbing and rigging equipment giving rescue capabilities to Advanced Tactical Practitioners.

The Prime Integrator, Tribalco, will have TICS available for viewing at next week’s SOFIC in Tampa. Come see them in Booth #218.

Oral I.V. Supports 30th Annual Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning

Friday, May 10th, 2013

Oral I.V. and Warrior Wound Care are proud to have supported the 2013 Best Ranger Competition, which recently took place at Fort Benning, Georgia. Warrior Wound Care supplied Oral I.V. hydration solution to all 100 participants for the 30th anniversary of this grueling competition, which has evolved from one originally created to salute the best two-man “buddy” team in the Ranger Department at Fort Benning to determine the best two-man team from the entire United States Armed Forces. The Best Ranger Competition is a U.S. Army event and supported by The National Ranger Association, Inc.

4-pack

Major Nathan M. Setka, Ranger Brigade Surgeon, stated in a letter of appreciation to Warrior Wound Care:

“During both the 2012 and 2013 competitions, Warrior Wound Care provided an individual aid kit featuring Oral I.V. rehydration formula to each competitor, as well as Oral I.V. packages for the medical staff and support cadre. The 2012 event was the first time that there were no reported heat or dehydration injuries or illness. In the 2013 Best Ranger Competition for the second year employing Oral I.V., the competitors suffered no dehydration or heat-related injuries during this most grueling and physically exhaustive event, open only to the most prepared and elite soldiers of the U.S. Armed Forces.”

The Oral I.V. proprietary formula is based on the science of hydration, one of the most fundamental drivers of human performance. Oral I.V. provides the critical electrolytes and minerals the body needs and nothing else – no caffeine, sugars, stimulants, preservatives, additives or artificial flavors. Due to their crystalloid form, the electrolytes in Oral I.V. are absorbed in the body directly upon contact with mucous membranes, creating an immediately noticeable improvement in performance for demanding operations and long-term or explosive short-term exercise. Oral I.V. restores proper blood sugar levels and promotes correct blood volume, resulting in higher energy levels, heightened concentration and alertness, faster recovery from injury or strenuous exercise, and much more.

The Oral I.V. product is now available via GSA Advantage, the government’s premier online shopping system, at www.gsaadvantage.gov. Customers can also purchase Oral I.V. under the Warrior Wound Care GSA schedule (GSA Contract V797D-30120) by contacting sales@warriorwoundcare.com.
