Kyle Defoor Joins Team MultiCam
Monday, June 15th, 2015We received this unanticipated announcement from Crye Precision regarding our friend Kyle Defoor who is joining Team MultiCam. This is obviously a big deal for Kyle who has been working hard at his training business but it’s also major news from the MultiCam brand because it indicates an expansion into additional shooting sports sponsored athletes.
We cannot be more thrilled to announce that Kyle Defoor is officially on Team MultiCam. He has been a long time friend and it only made sense to cement the relationship. Kyle is one of the premiere firearms instructors for military, law enforcement, and civilians specializing in pistol, carbine, sniper and CQB. The bulk of his expertise was honed during his military service as a special operations member. Kyle exemplifies professionalism both as a shooter and as an instructor. Though the majority of his training instruction is done with the military, his open enrollment classes are focused on building a student’s base knowledge with a firearm and taking them to the next level. Kyle not only believes in improving a shooter’s accuracy, but also their mindset. Kyle is also a very accomplished climber, ultra runner and he’s passionate about motorcycles and the outdoors.

Blade Show 2015 – MultiCam Is Coming Back to Triple Aught Design
Friday, June 5th, 2015Two big surprises for me this Blade Show. First, Triple Aught Design is exhibiting for the first time. As I looked around their booth, out of the corner of my eye I spotted some MultCam which led to my second surprise.
For years, TAD fans have been asking for them to bring back MultiCam. They are doing it, in limited runs, in three pant styles. First up will be the Force 10s seen here followed by two as-yet-unnamed models. Keep your eyes peeled and your credit card ready and be prepared to mash that ‘F5’ button.

Army Combat Shirt Type II

The US Army is fielding an updated version of the Army Combat Shirt called the Type II (still in OEF-CP). The ACS Type II has a narrower torso to accommodate the SPC which requires the shirt to offer more camo coverage on the yoke, chest, and sides. Massif is selling an ACS Type II, with slight fit modifications, but the same camo/solid configuration as the Army’s. As you can see it also incorporates a zippered, polo-style collar.

And Then There’s This – Ft Leonard Wood Seeks Instructor Uniforms in Crye Precision MultiCam Tropic
Monday, April 13th, 2015Fort Leonard Wood recently released a Sources Sought Notice on FedBizOpps seeking info regarding Crye Precision Field Uniforms in the MultiCam Tropic pattern. They are intended for use by “Instructors” but considering the number of schoolhouses located at Leonard Wood, your guess is as good as mine as to who is the actual user.
Two things make this interesting. First off, the calling out of the Crye Precision field uniform by name and salient characteriatics to avoid being offered a different item. The second is the pattern. The Army’s bookend tests to find suitable Desert and Woodland patterns to complememt OCP (Scorpion W2) have so far only resulted in an inconclusive interim test report. While M81 woodland remains in limited use for SOF personnel as well as at Hawaii’s Jungle School, supplies are limited. MARSOC did purchase M81 Woodland Combat Uniforms manufactured by DriFire but these did not include a Field Shirt. Regardless, someone at Ft Leonard Wood is insisting on the Crye garment in the Crye pattern and that’s interesting.
