Leupold Adds 7-35×56 Models to Mark 5HD Riflescope Line

Monday, January 21st, 2019

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has expanded its award-winning Mark 5HD riflescope family with the addition of models that will features a 7-35x magnification range. The new 7-35 models will be available with either milliradian or MOA adjustments and reticles.

The Mark 5HD line has been crafted to redefine accuracy, precision, and optical performance for long-range shooters – and do so in a package that embodies rugged reliability. The 7-35 models deliver those same traits – but with the enhanced magnification range that diehard long-range shooters have demanded.

“From the beginning, the Mark 5HD project team set out to deliver riflescopes that had all the features long-range shooters have been calling for, but in a user-friendly package,” said John Snodgrass, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “Shooters across the country have been impressed by what the Mark 5HD’s are capable of, and many have asked when we’d be adding more magnification to the line. We’re ecstatic to be able to deliver 7-35 models to the long-range community.”

In designing the Mark 5HD line, Leupold’s product specialists asked elite shooters what they needed to put accurate fire downrange faster, and used that input to design a riflescope that provides all the tools necessary – in both quality and features – without the unnecessary extras that add weight and cost for consumers. The 7-35×56 models weigh in at just 33 ounces, making the scope significantly lighter than nearly anything else in its class. But don’t let that fool you into thinking it can’t take a beating – quite the opposite. The Mark 5HD’s lightweight construction disperses recoil energy faster and creates unrivaled durability.

Get behind a Mark 5HD, meanwhile, and you’ll see the difference. All models deliver superior edge-to-edge clarity and extreme low-light performance. The Twilight Max HD Light Management System delivers the perfect balance of image color and contrast, light transmission, and glare management. The Mark 5HD is designed with a 35mm maintube for increased adjustment travel, and ships with a high-speed power selector ring featuring an optional low-profile throw lever that provides additional leverage.

The heart of the Mark 5HD is in its ZeroLock adjustments, which provide precise, repeatable tracking with a dead-on return to zero. The M5C3 elevation dials deliver 30-mils of adjustment in 3 turns, at 10-mils per turn on milliradian models, allowing the Mark 5HD to max out the performance of the latest long-range rifles and ammunition. The M1C3 elevation dials deliver over 70 MOA of adjustment in 3 turns on the 7-35×56 MOA models. Visual and tactile revolution indicators are in place to ensure you don’t get lost in the travel, and the auto-lock at zero eliminates the risk of inadvertently moving the dial. The windage adjustment is capped and the zero indicator mark has been relocated on the riflescope’s maintube so you can see it without having to move your head off the stock of the rifle.

The milliradian models Mark 5HD 7-35×56 will be available in six reticle options: H-59, CCH, TMR, Tremor 3, and Tremor 3 Illuminated. The MOA version will be available with an Impact 60 MOA reticle.

All Mark 5HD riflescopes are designed, machined, and assembled in the United States and backed by Leupold’s legendary Full Lifetime Guarantee.

Unity Tactical Announces FAST Optics Mounts

Saturday, January 19th, 2019

Unity Tactical is proud to announce FAST optics mounts as the latest addition to our growing product line. FAST optic mounts are designed to facilitate quicker and more intuitive target engagement and is comprised of several different mounts and accessories.

FAST Mounts will be available for all commonly used/issued optics in the military and law enforcement communities and like all Unity Tactical products, they are packed with smart features.  FAST mounts are machined from 7075-T6, available in Type 3 black or FDE anodizing and can be configured for multiple mounting options.

FAST Micro Mount

Compatible with most optics that feature the ubiquitous Aimpoint Micro footprint, the Patent Pending FAST Micro Mount elevates the capability of your optic.  It securely attaches to Milspec M1913 Picatinny rail via a no-snag dual cross-bolt clamp or optional American Defense Mfg patented QD Auto Lock Lever. Other mounting solutions such as captured ½“ hex nut are available to units on a volume basis. The optical centerline of the mount is a nominal 2.26” above the rail. The increased height of this optic mount works great with NVG’s, gas masks, and heads up shooting techniques while sitting only 1/3” of an inch higher than other popular 1.93” mounts. The mount features built-in, standard 1.42” height, windage-adjustable back up rear iron sight as well as an optional elevation adjustable front sight. The front sight is removable so shooters can utilize the built-in rear sight with a standard front sight for a more traditional sight radius. The FAST Micro Mount eliminates the need for separate rear BUIS, saving weight and space. Weighing in at 3.0 oz, the FAST Micro Mount competes with the lightest optic mount / rear BUIS combos on the market. These are currently in production and will be available late Q1 2019.

MSRP $169

FAST FTC Magnifier Mount

The first ever FTC (Flip-To-Center) magnifier mount is here. Compatible with Aimpoint 3X and some other 30mm tube magnifiers, our Patent Pending FTC Mag Mount swings the optic inboard and down, stowing it almost completely within the receiver’s footprint while not obstructing the sight picture of the red dot optic. This reduces the snag hazard and protects the magnifier. The FAST FTC Mag Mount operates via force-to-overcome, so deployment and stowage is… fast.  It weighs 4.5 oz and is compatible with all FAST red-dot mounts. These are currently in production and will be available late Q1 2019.

MSRP $198

FAST Riser Mount

The FAST Riser is a universal solution for EOTech EXPS, Vortex UH-1, Leupold LCO, and other similarly-sized optics.  The FAST Riser places the optical centerline at a nominal 2.26” and is fully compatible with the FAST FTC Mag Mount. It attaches to weapons via dual cross bolt clamp and can be augmented with an optional offset flip-up iron sight. FAST Risers are currently in production and will be available late Q1 2019.

MSRP $88

FAST Offset Options

The FAST Offset options will initially include a Rear Iron Sight, Trijicon RMR mount, and Aimpoint Micro footprint mount and will be compatible with the Riser, Scope Mount, and ACOG mounts. Our optional offset rear sight is compatible with most offset front sights. Offset mounts are slated for release late 2019. MSRP TBD

FAST Scope Mount

FAST Scope Mounts are slated to be available late 2019.  The testing model shown is a 1.93” height, but may become available in other heights. Designed to achieve a balance of weight and strength, these mounts feature the same offset integration as the riser. MSRP TBD

FAST ACOG Mount

FAST ACOG Mounts will be available late 2019.  The test model shown is standard height, but may become available in other heights. These mounts feature the same offset integration as the riser.

MSRP TBD

Please stop by booth 6502 at SHOT SHOW 2019 to test FAST and see our other new products.

Relentless Speed: Leupold Announces New VX-Freedom Red Dot Sight (RDS)

Wednesday, January 16th, 2019

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., has announced the arrival of the new VX-Freedom RDS (Red Dot Sight), a game-changing new red dot that’s built tough, performs in extreme conditions, and won’t break the bank. The RDS is everything you need in a red dot and delivers class-leading reliability – and it’s built in the United States at Leupold’s Beaverton, Ore., factory.

A tubular red dot sight built for recreational shooters and hunters alike, the RDS will be available in two distinct models: One features capped precision ¼-MOA click adjustments, the other a precision exposed BDC elevation turret that ships with measurements out to 500 yards for standard 55-grain .223 Rem. ammunition. The RDS is designed to install easily with an included mount that sits at the optimal sight height for use on AR-style rifles. That said, it can also be removed and mounted using any 34mm rings.

“Consumers have been asking for an American-made, value-priced red dot for as long as we’ve been in the marketplace,” said Tim Lesser, Vice President of Product Development for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The Freedom RDS delivers on that task and more, bringing with it innovative features like the custom BDC elevation turret, allowing end-users to easily dial up for longer shots.”

Both models of the Freedom RDS feature a 1 MOA dot reticle that’s supported by Leupold’s battery-saving Motion Sensor Technology (MST), which puts the sight into a battery-saving standby mode after five minutes of inactivity. When the MST detects motion, it instantly activates the sight, so it’s ready when you are. A manual mode allows the sight to be shut off when not in use.

The scratch-resistant lenses feature Leupold’s Twilight Red Dot System, which delivers standard color consistency and premium lens clarity. The RDS is 100 percent fogproof and waterproof and features 80-MOA of adjustment in both elevation and windage. A 34mm maintube design measures at under 5.5 inches and weighs less than 7 ounces. Its lightweight design helps increase its rugged reliability.

“The RDS features lightweight construction that disperses recoil energy and creates unrivaled durability,” said John Snodgrass, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “It’s been tested and verified on our Punisher, and it absolutely lives up to Leupold’s legendary standards for ruggedness. It won’t fail you, at the range or in the field.”

Both RDS models are designed, machined, and assembled in the United States and backed by Leupold’s legendary Full Lifetime Guarantee.
