TACOPS NOVA Elite Computer Bag from TSSI

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

TSSI offers a couple of really cool packs but what caught my eye this show was the interesting use of a teal color on several of the models. It still blends in to many environments but offers a different form of camouflage. This model featured an embroidered logo for the Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School here in Virginia.

The TACOPS NOVA Elite Computer Bag is normally offered in Black, Coyote and MultiCam and made from 500D Cordura. It features two Outer Overlapping Pockets as well as a Front Zippered Compartment, Fleece-lined Padded Optics/Eyewear/Media Pocket and a Main Storage Compartment that incorporates the Modular Velcro Attachment System (MVAS). MVAS is a series of pockets that allow you to customize the interior layout of your pack.

Pimp Your Khard – LBX Pouch Loadout Inserts Available Through TD

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

20130507-095611.jpg

From its inception, the Arc’teryx LEAF Khard pack was designed to accept internal pouches to help organize the load. But this was something that Arc’teryx left to industry to develop so that there would be several options available. LBX Tactical initially came up with 37 pockets that were unveiled at SHOT Show. Now, many of them are available through Tactical Distributors.

Warrior West – Spec Ops Brand

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Spec Ops Brand has updated the venerable T.H.E. Pack. It’s been around for over 10 years and it was about time for an update. With a new moniker, Ultimate Assault Pack, the Original Tactical Holds Everything pack will still be offered for customers who want the same model they’ve been using for years but I like the enhancements.

20130424-113513.jpg

For one thing, they’ve introduced a PALS compatible Grid-Lok panel to the outside accessory pocket. spec Ops Brand has also streamlined the sternum strap and made two major internal changes.

Thanks to a zippered compartment you can now insert and take out the frame sheet much easier. Additionally, the water bladder pocket has been moved to the main pack compartment, away from the wearer’s back so it won’t shift the load depending on how full the bladder is.

S.O.Tech Releases Expanding SERE Pack Redux

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013

I remember when the original Expanding SERE Pack was added to the S.O.Tech line way back in in 2001. S.O.Tech has updated the ESB a few times over the years and now they’ve changed the material for a new version available for pre-order.

SOTech ESP

The PALS-compatible Expanding SERE pack was designed by a SERE instructor to provide a simple pouch for survival kit and medical kit that can expand to a day pack size during evasion to carry foraged items (edible plants, road kill, firewood, etc). But, with the advent of Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE) raids, this pouch gained an additional mission. The pocket is great for SSE kit items like rubber gloves and marking tags while the pack provides a comfortable way to transport evidence back to base camp. And, troops on R&R found a third use as a travel pouch which can slide over a belt to hold a camera, phone and passport but can expand to transport souvenirs and food bought in the local market.

Product Specs:
Weight – 12oz
Water Resistant
Material – 200D Theta (MultiCam)
Warranty – Lifetime
