SIG SAUER Academy to Host Inaugural P365 EDC Championship

NEWINGTON, N.H., (March 16, 2021) – SIG SAUER Academy, the leading provider of the highest quality firearms instruction and tactical training in the world, is pleased to announce the Inaugural P365 EDC Championship to be hosted at the SIG SAUER Academy in Epping, New Hampshire July 21-24, 2021.

The P365 EDC Championship is a thirteen stage match on the grounds of the SIG SAUER Academy in Epping, New Hampshire. A SIG SAUER P365 is required for competition use. Squads will compete beginning Wednesday, July 21st through Saturday, July 24th and limited to 12 participants per squad. Registration is $155 per competitor and opens on March 27, 2021. DroneShield AI System Detects New Threats

On 8 February 2021, DroneShield has unveiled its new, world leading, C-UAS AI-enabled software, running on all of its devices enrolled into regular updates.

The system utilises proprietary techniques in signal processing and Machine Learning/AI to do near-real time detection and identification of unmanned robotic systems and, more broadly, other potential threats in the Electronic Warfare fields. The result was a dramatic increase in detection responsiveness, lower false positives and a significant increase in the speed at which new threats are detected, classified and tracked by the DroneShield systems.

As an example of the system’s capabilities to detect never-seen-before threats, it has successfully detected, a new UAS protocol OcuSync 3 (O3), released by DJI on its First Person View (FPV) Drone, released this week.

Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s CEO, commented, “Our AI engine has been designed to both detect never-seen-before threats and learn at a superior rate to adapt to new Signals of Interest. DARPA Awards Silvus Up to $13.1M to Develop Distributed Beamforming Solution

Under RN DMC Program, Silvus to Enable Resilient, Long-Range Comms Over Large Geographic Areas

Los Angeles, California (March 16, 2021) – Silvus Technologies, Inc. (“Silvus”) today announced the company has been awarded a contract worth up to $13.1 million as part of DARPA’s Resilient Networked Distributed Mosaic Communications (RN DMC) program. Under RN DMC, Silvus will develop a distributed beamforming/beamnulling solution to enable resilient, long-range terrestrial communications of up to 100km using multiple collaborative radios distributed over hundreds of meters.

RN DMC stems from DARPA’s investment in mosaic warfare, a concept in which large numbers of lower-cost systems, referred to as “tiles,” are deployed to perform complex mission functions in a coordinated fashion. By building a mosaic of inter-connected tiles, functions such as command and control, communications, and sensing can be performed with more resilience and higher performance.

Building on a proven track record of developing real-time solutions enabling distributed frequency and time synchronization, Silvus’ solution for RN DMC is dubbed Mosaic Scattered Wide-Area Resilient Network (MScWRN or M2N). M2N will enable spatially distributed beamforming and beamnulling with minimal communications required between tiles, resulting in mosaic clusters that are able to bridge large range gaps while seamlessly interoperating with the rest of a traditional Silvus mesh network.

“The reliability of long-range communications utilizing multiple radios distributed over large distances is a critical component in DARPA’s vision of mosaic warfare,” said Dr. Babak Daneshrad, Chief Executive Officer of Silvus. “The RN DMC program will enable the continued development of our M2N solution, and we look forward to demonstrating its matured operation.”

XS Sights Introduces +2 Magazine Tube Extension Kit for Remington 870 Shotgun

Fort Worth, TX (March 15, 2021) – XS® Sights is pleased to introduce the Remington® 870 +2 Magazine Tube Extension Kit for easy do-it-yourself installation. This lightweight magazine tube extension increases the capacity of standard Remington 870 shotguns by two shotshells and allows for the mounting of additional tactical upgrades. The kit includes a factory detent removal tool, a 45” Wolff® 12-gauge extended spring, and the +2 extension tube.

“This is a great product for shooters looking to expand the versatility of their standard four-shot 870,” said Zack Kinsley, Marketing Manager for XS Sights. “We have sold the tool to remove the factory detents for years and decided to provide a complete system that is simple, lightweight, and allows for personal preference tactical upgrades while installing the tube.”

Made from 6061 aluminum that is hard coat anodized, this one-piece tube weighs less than traditional steel tubes. The tip of the extension has wrench flats enabling an easier grip while attaching the tube. The flats also offer shooters the ability to use an adjustable wrench to get a snug fitment. Measuring six inches in length, the extension will not extend past a 20-inch barrel on a traditional four-round capacity shotgun tube.

The tube is machined to accept standard barrel clamps to allow for more support and provide the option of a sling attachment point. A short Picatinny rail can also be added to the clamp for mounting a tactical light or other preferred accessories. While built to work with the factory follower, aftermarket upgrades also work. Tested brands of clamps and followers include Vang Comp®, Nordic Components®, and Wilson Combat®.

Germany’s Brabus Automotive Invicto Partners with Aspetto to Take on US Government Sales

Aspetto announced their partnership with Brabus Automotive to bring the Invicto line to America.

This Luxury Armored Vehicle is based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. However, Brabus Automotive believes their Invicto is in a whole different class of armored vehicles.

Instead of retroactively fitting the SUV with armor, their engineers implemented an entirely new protection system. They created a self-enclosed bolted structural cell that is assembled inside of the original body shell. The armor components are then affixed to the shell, leaving no gaps. Extra plating and reinforcement is added to counter any inherent structural weakness.

The zero-joints design was then tested with an array of gun fire, collisions and explosions. All of which exceeded the company’s expectations.

The Invicto also has a modified chassis to easily handle the extra weight. Brabus Automotive added an entirely new wheel suspension. Thus, ensuring the vehicle has a long road life. Beyond that, many more improvements were made such as reinforcing brake discs, springs, shock absorbers and stabilisers. Brabus Automotive incorporated 3-D printing to ensure they got the exact specifications on the components they wanted to add.

Brabus Automotive offers the Invicto in three model lines: The Invicto Pure is the serial Mercedes Benz G-Class with a nearly invisible armoring. The Invicto luxury offers all interior and exterior from the Brabus G-Class accessory program. And the Invicto Mission is the trace and escort vehicle with interior and exterior features made for special forces and special purposes.

Despite the rugged exterior, the inside is the epitome of luxury. The Invicto features a fully customizable interior with a vast selection of leathers, wood, and electronic compatibility. Optionally the Invicto offers infrared and night vision capabilities, a fire extinguishing system, and an escape hatch on the roof.

Adding to the already impressive design, the Invicto has up to 800 horsepower, and can reach a top speed of 130 miles per hour. Furthermore, the Invicto can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds.
