MWW 22 – goTenna Pro Deployment Kit 2

goTenna has upgraded their Pro Deployment Kit with a new tablet-based software application server which replaces the old Raspberry Pi server. It also offers geolocation visualization of the goTenna Pro X2 mesh networking devices. There are 30 in the kit which also acts as a charging device. The system offers AES256 encryption via Android and it allows you to stand up comms completely off grid.

MWW 22 – Turbine One Frontline Perception System

Turbine One’s tagline is “AI/ML for the Comms-Contested Battlefield” and after learning about what they are doing, that sums it up quite nicely. For those of you unfamiliar with the terms, AI/ML means Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Those both sound like ominous futuristic concepts but Turbine One’s Frontline Perception System (FPS) makes it not only real, but user friendly.

Unlike current systems fielded with vendor-locked software which cannot move between sensors or devices, FPS combines open system architecture across any network, even in in comms-contested environments, and sensor data fusion.

FPS can be deployed on entire enterprise, desktops, laptops and End User Devices whether connected to a network or not. In fact, it’s optimized for use at the operator level.

It deploys algorithms at the tactical edge to characterize sensor data and provide relevant information to the user. The user can also interact with the system, introducing new items of interest without having to code using their AutoML.

Here you can see an example of the AI identifying a gun. Just prior to taking this photo the system was programmed using AutoML to characterize the pistol after identifying it in several images. It was just that simple.

The Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation (GSOF) is truly honored and excited to co-sponsor the newly envisioned “SOF Week” with U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).  The former Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) was a successful annual program for USSOCOM. Tactical and Tech Day Expo Returns to Vicenza

Vicenza, Italy – U.S. Army Southern European Task Force Africa (SETAF) partnered with National Conference Services Inc. (NCSI) to host the Tactical and Tech Day Expo at the Golden Lion Conference Center on Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, October 26, 2022.

NCSI worked with SETAF prior to the event to develop a list of vendors that would provide technological solutions to bring to our partners in Africa. Having just completed a recent event in Morocco, NCSI was able to identify technology gaps and source vendors who could deploy solutions both in Italy and in Africa.

“Working with specific vendors can help bridge the technology services gap in places like Morocco to provide better, and more mobile security and data protection,” said Katia Sears, NCSI events manager.

The expo allows companies to showcase their products by providing demonstrations using the latest technological options and services that can fulfill mission requirements through collaborative efforts with members of the Vicenza Military Community who may utilize their services.

Companies showcased products that could aid units with communications, language translation, radar, big data analytics, workflow software, signal monitoring, and advanced structures on the African continent.

Sgt. 1st Class Simone Loncke, the operations NCO for the Operation Protection Directorate, feels a certain responsibility and vested interest in intel for the continent. She says, “Technology is a way of the future and we have to embrace it. I am impressed by all we can invest in to protect the continent, and how fast it can be deployed.”

While the event aims to cultivate a network of mission-oriented partnerships, it also provides opportunities for individual members to develop professional relationships.

“Technology changes so fast and it is important for the Army procurement process to get in on this stuff early,” said the G6 Sgt. Maj. Thomas Richard.

Due to Covid restrictions, the Tactical and Tech Day Expo has not been held in Vicenza since 2019. An annual event, it is scheduled tentatively for the Spring of 2023.

PARIS, 6 OCTOBER 2022. Stretching back 55 years, the exhibition EUROSATORY ushers in a new phase in its history and reveals its new brand identity: a new logo, new colours, a new signature and a new key visual.

He adds: “This approach illustrates the strategic transformation of EUROSATORY, both internally with the buy-in of our teams, and externally to expand our expertise in the Defence and Security fields (in their widest sense); to harness our knowledge of diplomatic and ministerial circles, all in the aim of supporting our clients in their international development.

Today, the EUROSATORY brand more strongly asserts its mission: to enable Governments, supranational organisations, NGOs and businesses to anticipate and reinvent the way they deal with new and increasingly frequent crises that they face owing to both international tensions and global warming.

The creative concept of the 2024 key visual represents a land theatre incorporating the capabilities offered by the sea, air, space and cyber fields.

Its overall symbolism with a woman’s face turned towards the future embodying the notion of foresight, illustrates the show’s promise: “The guarantee of finding and discovering all the global expertise and emerging trends to address the challenges of today and tomorrow.”

The choice of a female face also celebrates the women and men dedicated to providing peace and security in the world.

Land Forces 22 – Ghost Robotics

Ghost Robotics‘ Quadruped Unmanned Ground Vehicles are making a great showing in the Australian Defence Force stand, conducting demos of their capabilities. Available in Australia from Omega Dev Group, ADF currently has two dogs they are using to shape their ground robotics requirements under the Robotic & Autonomous Systems Implementation & Coordination Office (RICO).
