Lantac LA-SF15TM 6MM ARC Chambered Rifle & Dedicated E-BCG

For the past 2 years Lantac has been working closely with Hornady Manufacturing, undertaking testing and development of products that utilise the new 6MM ARC ammunition in a variety of bullet weights. Lantac was one of the first companies to become involved with this new caliber as part of a funded military research project and has conducted extensive evaluation and development work in that time.

Lantac’s new LA-SF15 6ARC 18’’ Rifle+1 gas system (pictured) delivers 2629 FPS at muzzle with 2457FPS at 100M (109.36 Yards) and 1408 FPS at 800M (874.89 Yards). Energy is 1657 Ft-lb (2246 Joules) at 100M (109.36 Yards) and 475 Ft-lb (644 Joules) at 800M (874.89 Yards) approx. Lantac has also developed a more compact 14.5’’ Intermediate gassed system that delivers 2483 FPS at muzzle with 2315 FPS at 100M (109.36 Yards) and 1302 FPS at 800M (874.89 Yards). Energy is 1285 Ft-lb (1742 Joules) at 100M (109.36 Yards) and 407 Ft-lb (551 Joules) at 800M (874.89 Yards) approx.

The velocity of multiple barrel lengths was tested to create a clear picture of 6ARC’s capabilities.

The rifle is designed to offer the softest shooting experience and features a specially designed dedicated E-BCG® bolt carrier group that works with the Rifle+1 gas system and VLTOR’s A5 Buffer to deliver extremely low recoil energy, meaning that fast, repeated hits on long range targets are much easier to achieve.

Other barrel options are available for customers not wanting to use a carbon wrapped solution.

Lantac’s 6ARC E-BCG® has been specially developed to manage the gas impulse delivered from a variety of 6ARC bullet weights / powder loads that will eventually be available from Hornady (the 103Gr, 105Gr & 108Gr being the initial release), it will also function with 6.5 Grendel and is available in both Nitrided and NiB (Electroless Nickel Boron) finishes.

Lantacs E-BCG® has undergone extensive trials testing and out performs other carriers with improved gas management, reduced recoil and lug stress. A 5.56mm E-BCG® Carrier and Bolt have successfully fired over 65,000 rounds of ammunition with zero failures and the Bolt was still in complete working order after MPI and X-Ray Radiography inspection.

The E=BCG® Carrier vents gas in a completely different way to standard two and three port designs. As can be seen in these frames from hi-speed testing, both the 2 port and 3 port carriers produce a plume of potentially harmful propellant gas, by contrast the Lantac E-BCG® produces a significantly reduced plume.

Lantac undertook extensive recoil energy testing, utilising data loggers and load cells. Many carriers were tested and compared to assist in fine tuning the 6ARC E-BCG®.

XS Sights RAM Night Sights Receive Top Rating from Members of the National Tactical Officers Association

Fort Worth, TX (June 2, 2020) – XS® Sights RAM Night Sights have received the National Tactical Officers Association’s (NTOA) top rating in their Member Tested and Recommended Program. NTOA member-tested products deemed ‘Excellent’, the program’s highest rating, are defined as “product that performs at a level above advertised specifications and demonstrates its usefulness and quality of workmanship every time it is used and can be used for other purposes.”

The high-performance RAM (radioactive material) night sights are fine-tuned for Law Enforcement use and feature a traditional 3-dot tritium notch and post sight picture. The front sight features XS’s proprietary Ember® Glow Dot technology which absorbs ambient light and glows in low light. The front tritium lamp in the RAM sight charges the Ember Glow Dot, making the front sight glow brighter than the rear, keeping one’s focus down range. The rear sight of the RAM is blacked out to increase contrast against the front sight which is available in bright orange or green. NTOA members tested both colors.

A NTOA member who is a police officer from Virginia wrote: “The RAM Night Sights in Orange by XS Sight Systems are a fantastic step up from stock Glock sights. I normally don’t gush about the products I test because I know fellow officers are depending on an accurate review and they might be taking that gear into dangerous situations, but this is a no brainer. This makes it real easy to not only find and focus on the front sight, but in total darkness you will be absolutely certain that you have the right dot between the two glowing rear dots.”

Streamlight Introduces New Models of TL-Racker Shotgun Forend Lights

Streamlight Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting devices, has increased the lumen output of its TL-Racker®, an all-in-one shotgun forend light designed to fit on Mossberg 500®/590® and Remington® Model 870™ pump-action shotguns, to 1,000 lumens. Streamlight Upgrades Lumens of Popular TLR Models

TLR-1 HL, TLR-2 HL, TLR-2 HL G, and TLR-1 HPL Now Offer 1,000 Lumens

Streamlight Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting devices, announced it has improved the output of four of its TLR® high lumen (HL) gun-mounted lights, including the TLR-1 HL®; the TLR-2 HL®; the TLR-2 HL® G, and the TLR-1 HPL®. Each model now delivers 1,000 lumens of blinding white light.

“Tactical users and outdoor enthusiasts alike will appreciate the increased brightness of these rugged, yet compact and lightweight TLR models,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “The TLR-1 HL®, TLR-2 HL® and TLR-2 HL® G are designed to provide full situational awareness, offering a wide beam pattern that is similar to a floodlight for a variety of tactical maneuvers such as clearing a dark room, searching alleys, or other outdoor uses. The high performance TLR-1 HPL® also functions as a high lumen light, while delivering a brighter hotspot which puts more light on a target at a distance.”

In addition to their enhanced lumen capability, the TLR-1 HL®, TLR-2 HL®, and TLR-2 HL® G also now offer 20,000 candela and a 283-metre beam distance, while the TLR-1 HPL® provides 60,000 candela and a 490-metre beam distance. Each light has a continuous run time of 1.5 hours. The TLR-2 HL® also is equipped with a 640-660 nanometre integrated red aiming laser for long-range targeting, while the TLR-2 HL® G features a 510-530 nanometre green aiming laser to improve focusing on targets, particularly in daylight.

The upgraded lights feature the latest in LED technology, including a shock-proof high-power LED. All four models also feature strobing capability, offering the added benefit of being able to signal in the field or disorient targets. The enhanced TLR models can be quickly and safely attached to most weapons, without the need for users to put their hands in front of the muzzle. They mount directly to all MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails and handguns with Glock-style rails, and offer highly accurate sight repeatability when remounting. A key kit with six interchangeable keys is included to securely fit each light to the broadest array of rails. All of the models are fabricated from 6000 series machined aluminum, feature impact-resistant construction and have been extensively live-fired tested. They each use two included 3-volt, CR123A lithium batteries.

The TLR-1 HL® weighs 122.5 grams with batteries, while the TLR-2 HL® and the TLR-2 HL® G both weigh 138.3 grams with batteries; all three lights measure 8.6cm in length. The TLR-1 HPL® weighs 158.8 – 167.3 grams and measures 12.2 – 13.3cm with batteries, using a standard or remote switch, respectively.

The TLR-1 HL® and TLR-1 HPL® are IPX7 rated for waterproof operation to 1 metre for 30 minutes, while the TLR-2 HL® and TLR-2 HL® G offer an IPX4 rated design for water-resistant operation.

The TLR-1 HL®, TLR-2 HL®, TLR-2 HL® G, and TLR-1 each comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
