Sneak Peek – Spuhr G3 Stock

    Sunday, December 27th, 2015

This is the new Spuhr G3 stock developed for a military contract that will be fulfilled in Spring 2016. Once that contract is underway, Spuhr will offer the stock commercially, beginning Fall 2016. Look for it at both SHOT Show amd IWA. LOP is from 12.7″ and that is approx 3″ shorter than the original stock. The Cheekpiece is interchangeble to different heights but is always at least 1″ higher than the original and made for the use of optical sights. That means current “too low” iron sights can’t be used. Finally, the G3 original buffer will be kept in the gun.

    SureFire – Warden Blast Diffuser

    Thursday, December 24th, 2015

    warden-de_1_2

SureFire’s Warden Blast Diffuser is a muzzle device designed to direct the concussive blast of the muzzle forward, rather than to the side as found with many muzzle break devices. This not only reduces overpressure and flash felt by others to either side of a shooter’s firing position, but also aids in minimizing dust signature when firing from a prone position. The Warden attaches to any SureFire 5.56 or 7.62 SOCOM muzzle device using the same Fast-Attach system found on the SOCOM suppressor series.

Greek company Barrel Advanced Armament recently posted the above photo of the Glock 17 MOS on their Facebook page, stating that the featured pistols were procured for a “special user”. The Glocks are equipped with a Docter RDS, unidentified suppressor, and in the case of the bottom pistol, a Streamlight TLR-1 HL weapon light. A source who wished to remain anonymous stated that the pistols are intended for a special unit that cooperates with US Federal Agencies, but gave no further details.

Yes, NSW Has “Adopted” the Glock 19

    Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015

    Glock 19

Internet forums and gun blogs are all worked up that Naval Special Warfare is adopting the Glock 19 force wide. So naturally, I started getting questions about it but I didn’t realize it was a big revelation or for that matter, a secret. You see, select elements of NSW have been using Glock 19s for years, just like other SOF, due to its reliability and concealability.

Early models were said to be adapted for use in maritime environments by equipping them with maritime cups for the firing pin. As I understand it, over time, use of the Glock 19 began to proliferate throughout the community.  Earlier this year some East Coast SEALs conducted an evaluation and the decision was made to adopt them on a wider scale.

However, they haven’t purchased additional pistols yet, nor completed a fielding plan. If there are any new users, the pistols most likely came from SOFSA.
