Although the NeoAir has been around for about a year-and-half, I don’t think enough of you know about The newer XTherm. Offering a R value of 5.7 it is the equivalent of stacking a Z-Lite and two standard military inflatable sleeping pads. All that at only 15 oz (430 g). Also, note it is available in four different lengths.
One important thing to note on the NeoAir is that it should be placed inside a sleeping bag. This not only increases comfort and insulation but also durability. Since it relies completely on air and a reflective material for insulation, it deflates much more quickly than foam lined pads and can be left inside your bag or bivy and stuffed for transport. The NeoAir does require a little more care than the standard pad but the advantages far outweigh the requirement to look after your kit.
Here you can see it paired with the UltraLite Cot which weighs just under 3 lbs.
Mike Nolan from Vectronix stops by at Warrior Expo East to talk about their Clip On Thermal Imager (COTI), MOSKITO Night Vision Device, and their newest generation Pocket Laser Range Finder – the PLRF25C.

Designed as a low output light for structure search, navigation, low level illumination, and breaching operation, it is capable of 10 lumens of output for up to 36 hours using 2 2016 coin batteries. Available lamp options include IR/Red and IR/White. The Switch Rail was developed through a collaboration between Austere Provisions Company, Sentinel Designs LLC, and Princeton Tec.

New, is the Armor Source Rail. First off, it’s lighter than existing rail systems (110 grams vs 165 grams) and is available in a wide variety of colors but they are having trouble molding plaid.
Another interesting feature is that the ASR is offered in sizes that are compatible with the full gamut of helmet sizes and can be attached via Velcro or Epoxy. Additionally, there is a recess in the rear of the rail to accommodate any bolts in the helmet.
I know a lot of guys have adopted Salewa boots since we started writing about them but some guys, understandably, can’t because they don’t have a Brown model. Now, Salewa has introduced the Hike Trainer GTX in Brown.
Think of it as a lighter baby brother of the Alp Trainers that I wear. It incorporates all of the classic Salewa features like climbing shoe lacing to the end of toe box , climbing zone under the forefoot for technical terrain, full Gore-tex lining and their patented 3F fit system.
