Larry Vickers is a decorated US Army Special Forces veteran and national pistol champion. Mr. Vickers has nearly two decades of special operations experience (1st SFOD-D), much of which was spent as his unit’s Primary Firearms Instructor. In addition to his special operations accomplishments, his competitive shooting has yielded a 10th and 9th place finish in the 1993 and 1994 USPSA Limited Nationals as well as a 1st place finish in CDP class at the 2001 IDPA Mid-Winter Nationals at Smith & Wesson. Mr. Vickers is a founding member of IDPA. In addition to being a highly experienced operator and national pistol champion, Mr. Vickers is also one of the premier 1911 pistolsmiths in the country and his work has been featured in several firearms publications and on the cover of American Handgunner. In addition to all this, Mr. Vickers has served as a consultant and technical expert to the firearms industry. Mr. Vickers is featured on two new firearms, tactics, and accessories focused T.V. shows called Tactical Impact and Tactical Arms.

No Stock Needed

I’ve never seen anything like it. The patent pending NSN completely replaces the need for a shoulder stock on an AR-style firearm. Consisting of two main components: a stainless steel bracket, which mounts directly to a variety of firearms, and dual impact-absorbing foam pads, which mount to the rear of the bracket, the shooter places the bracket against his chin. The padded bracket absorbs nearly all of the felt recoil. The device mounts directly to any firearm with an industry-standard M16 lower receiver end plate adapter, including the popular semi-automatic AR-15 as well as several GLOCK pistol models fitted with an extra adapter.

The NSN makes the weapon both lighter and more compact. The developer Halix also claims that the firearm is easier and faster to aim because the device provides a point for the operator’s face and eyes to consistently index and acquire the sighting mechanism, and the device removes the time and effort needed to orient one’s shoulder and torso to the correct position. They also assert that aiming deviations caused by breathing are nearly eliminated because firearms do not contact the torso of the operator when using the invention. Additionally, with the NSN shooters are said to feel significantly less recoil than experienced with a shoulder stock, as the impact-absorbing foam pads retard rearward firearm motion more effectively than conventional shoulder stock designs, leading to faster follow-up shots and increased comfort.

SOTech Introduces a Custom Scabbard for Snipers – The Fat Magnum

The new SOTech Sniper Scabbard (AKA the Fat Magnum) was designed as a modular weapon carry system which can be built up or down depending on mission requirements and the needs of the Sniper. SOTech first introduced Sniper systems in 2002 with Las Vegas metro PD SWAT and this is the latest evolution of the rifle scabbard design. They invested three years of development to get it into its current configuration and is currently undergoing evaluation in the hands of both Allied and US Snipers.

The first challenge was to work out the physics associated with stabilizing a top heavy load, in a fluid environment. For example, horizontal, vertical, and rotational torque all needed to be neutralized. Not only did SOTech succeed in doing this, they found a way for the Sniper to have the option of running his weapon barrel up, down, or in a folded configuration. They, they found a way to carry the load along with a very large pack, or to run with the system with only the scabbard and rifle making it the first totally modular system on the market.

Specifically, the Sniper Scabbard was developed in improve upon existing carry solutions that have these consistent issues.

1- Lack of stability when moving
2- All or nothing design which does not allow end user configuration
3- You can only carry your rifle barrel down

SOTech knew they could address these issues in an innovative and unique manner, and deliver a product which a Sniper wants in combat.

With SOTech’s system you are able to build it up or down depending on your mission, weight requirements, and time on target. It was designed by a Sniper, with input from former and current operators, who understand what you need and what it takes to complete the mission. SOTech started this project with durability and dependability being the primary factors, then focused on redundancy and making sure this was the best product they could develop. All components are American Made, Berry Compliant, and were all assembled and configure in Carson, California, just south of Los Angeles.

This is a proprietary design protected by patent, and we can not show the interior key design elements as they are restricted to actual customers only, not the general public.
