Shaping the Future: Introducing the ExoM Up-Armoured Exoskeleton from Mehler Protection

January 18th, 2024

FULDA, GERMANY (18 January 2024)

Mehler Protection, an innovative brand under the Mehler Systems banner, proudly announces the launch of the ExoM Up-Armoured Exoskeleton.

Crafted through a collaborative effort with Mawashi Science & Technology, this revolutionary product sets new standards in weight management and ballistic protection for military and law enforcement sectors.

Transformative Load-Bearing Solution

The ExoM Exoskeleton revolutionises the experience for military and law enforcement personnel facing extended wear of heavy equipment and demanding high-level ballistic protection. By redistributing up to 70% of the load from the shoulders to the ground, this technology alleviates physical strain, and mitigates injuries, allowing operators to focus on their duties.

High-Level Full-Body Armour

Boasting exceptional load-bearing capabilities, the ExoM Exoskeleton enhances survivability by providing high-level ballistic protection.

“We’ve harnessed our expertise to engineer a product that not only redistributes load effectively but also enhances survivability with top-tier ballistic protection, offering full-body coverage up to VPAM 8,” stated Daniel von Chamier, Group Director of Sales at Mehler Systems.

Exceptional Ergonomics and Mobility

Equipped with a flexible spine, sliding waist belt, and articulated hip, knee, and ankle joints, the ExoM Exoskeleton ensures operators maintain up to 99% ease and range of motion. This flexibility proves vital for navigating challenging terrains and confined spaces.

Self-Sufficiency in Remote Areas

Functioning as a passive Exoskeleton, it operates without the need for external power sources. This feature makes it perfect for extended missions or remote locations, eliminating the necessity for heavy batteries and charging equipment.

“Collaborating with Mehler Protection on the ExoM Up-Armoured Exoskeleton has been an exciting journey for Mawashi Science & Technology. Our focus on engineering the framework and structural innovation of the Exoskeleton has seamlessly merged with Mehler Protection’s expertise in ballistic protection, resulting in a groundbreaking product that sets new benchmarks in weight management and ballistic protection,” said Etienne Lamoureux, General Manager of Mawashi Science & Technology.

Mehler Protection remains at the forefront of innovation in ballistic protection.

“The ExoM stands as a testament to our collaborative dedication to advancing technology, delivering a revolutionary solution for military and law enforcement professionals through the integrated expertise,” said von Chamier.

See the Dark Wolf Ventures Howler at SHOT Show

January 18th, 2024

Satcom/RF Backhaul with Advanced Situational Awareness
The Dark Wolf Howler is one of many custom communications products!! Whether you are working with P25 or other platforms, the Howler can connect you anywhere in the world using the Iridium LEO constellation, even if you’re on the move! In one current configuration (as shown), ICOM’s F7500 Series P25 radios are backhauled over the ICOM SAT100M Satellite radios for a true BLOS (Beyond Line Of Site) system. In the pics, Jay Chapman and Brandon Newsome from Iridium, Kevin Rutherford from Dark Wolf Ventures, and Glenn Williams from ICOM America conducted a demonstration in which P25 radios at an installation in South Korea are connected over satellite to IDAS radios in Ft. Carson, CO. This P25 to IDAS RF backhaul through the Iridium constellation also allows for real time PLI tracking and messaging through ATAK on a Samsung Tablet.

Schedule a meeting to join us at SHOT Show this year and check out one of our newest releases.

The Howler from Dark Wolf Ventures integrates ATAK on the Tab Active 3 from our partners at Samsung.

Dark Wolf Ventures’ custom ATAK plug-in provides remote command and control of the connected radios, real time updates of physical location, short messaging, and improved situational awareness.

Jay Chapman and Brandon Newsome from Iridium conducted a demonstration of the P25 Howler in South Korea.

Even while using different digital protocols, the Howler provided seamless situational awareness and consistent communications from around the world.

The Howler in mobile IDAS configuration was connected from Fort Carson, CO to the P25 Howler in South Korea. The mobile configuration goes from storage to fully operational and backhauling over satellite in fewer than five minutes, and can even be used on the go.

Envision Technology Introduces the Miniature Advanced Rangefinder System (MARS) NSN: 1240-99-984-0230

January 18th, 2024

Envision Technology, a manufacturer of state-of-the-art EO/IR technologies for the military, law enforcement and commercial markets, has entered full-rate production of the newest addition to the Envision product portfolio, the Miniature Advanced Rangefinder System (MARS).

Building off the success of Envision’s MARS-L system, which was introduced in 2022, MARS expands on this capability by including Near Infrared (NIR) aiming and illumination lasers in the same size package as the MARS-L. This weapon-mounted laser rangefinder (WMLRF) is a game changer, and has been purpose-built for the operational end user, with a strong focus on reductions in Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) when compared to existing systems. The MARS achieves this while delivering required capability attributes, such as a long-range eye safe (1550nm) LRF, visible pointer, NIR pointer, NIR VCSEL Illuminator, on-board ballistic computer (Applied Ballistics), and a large OLED display to allow the user to navigate the simple and intuitive user interface.

The compact and lightweight design (< 8 ounces with battery), is feature-rich and minimizes impact on the host weapon system and operator load. MARS is capable of successfully ranging a man-sized target beyond 1500 meters

(Man-size 10% reflective) and offers the user additional rangefinding modes for specific mission scenarios. The integrated Bluetooth module allows the user to interface with external devices such as a Kestrel weather meter. MARS is also compliant with Modular Sniper Display (MSD) ICD Rev. B and Rev. D to support exporting ballistics to an MSD scope or compatible thermal weapon sight.

“As an American manufacturer and small business, we are proud to deliver MARS systems to the men and women who continue to put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedoms” states Envision’s Head of Business Development and Sales, Mike Cassidy.
