Digital Concealment Systems Announcement Regarding US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

This statement was received this morning from Digital Concealment Systems

In advance of the US Army Camouflage Improvement effort down select due to take place on December 15th, we wish to inform our loyal supporters and partners that we will not be a part of the final down select. As the process moves forward we wish all of the finalists the best.

With regards to our pattern family submission, we set out to do something radically different from the accepted norm, based on our A-TACS concept, but wholly unique. The pattern submission was designed and specifically suited to meet the requirements set forth in the initial RFP. However, our patterns use more color and use it in a different way than most patterns, making them a challenge to evaluate using the pre-existing and outdated methodology for evaluation outlined in the RFP–the same methodology that produced the current UCP pattern. Often times, it is easier to take the path of least resistance than to raise the bar and develop new standards. After all, the end result is to offer the best possible concealment to our service men and women.

Now with the introduction of our new A-TACS FG Camo platform, Digital Concealment Systems will coninue to focus on it’s core mission. To provide new technology and the very best concealment options to Special Operations, Law Enforcement and Tactical Professionals worldwide. It is our firm belief that those individuals who lay their lives on the line each and every day in service, deserve nothing less.

A-TACS FG – See It Here First

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

At 1200 EST today, A-TACS will simultaneously update their website, Facebook fan page and officially release the highly anticipated FG (Forest/Green) pattern.

This might be an overused word, but when I saw these photos I literally said to myself, “Awesome.” When Digital Concealment Systems went about developing a new woodland pattern, they didn’t just adjust the color palette of their existing A-TACS AU (Arid/Urban) but rather developed a completely new pattern from the ground up based on the shapes found in dense biomass environments. Starting with their “pattern within a pattern” concept they added simulated depth to further break up the human silhouette. According to DCS, “the organic pixels in the micro patterns are grouped into larger, more defined “macro” shapes creating larger more defined patterns. The larger organic shapes and strategically placed shadow elements within the macro pattern help to create a unique three-dimensional effect never before seen in a tactical concealment system.

A-TACS SHOT Show 2011 Roundup

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Digital Concealment Systems released a great roundup of all things A-TACS from SHOT Show 2011. Rather than steal their thunder, we thought it best to show you a couple of our favorites and then send you on over to check out the entire list.

We’ve mentioned the upcoming TAC-U combat shirt from Propper. It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Tactical Assault Gear unveiled their Combat Sustainment Pack at SHOT Show. We figured the web would have blown up already over this one but it looks like it is starting to receive some attention. Designed to be used to augment a chest rig load or as a bailout bag, one of this pack’s coolest features is that it includes a CCB (combat casualty bag) used to carry a down man’s kit while he is being moved, treated and extracted. Our friends at TAG have sent one along to us so be on the lookout for a review soon.

Make sure you read the whole thing so you can dig into the details at A-TACS.com.
