Friday, September 29th, 2017

Lakewood, WA – Grey Ghost Precision, leading manufacturers of accurate, reliable, and attainable weapon systems, is excited to announce the hiring of Jason Curns as the company’s Vice President of Firearms, effective September 25th. In his new position, Curns will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for all sales, customer service and marketing initiatives for the Grey Ghost Precision brand.

Jason Curns

“Through his combined passion for the firearms industry and undeniable track record in personal customer service and care, adding Jason to the Grey Ghost Precision team was one of the most common sense decisions we’ve ever made,” said Grey Ghost Precision, CEO Casey Ingels. “His extensive experience in the commercial sales and firearms industry as a whole positions him to help lead our team and take our products to the next level.”

Curns joins GGP with more than 22 years of combined experience in sales, customer service, customer logistics, manufacturing and supply chain. His previous experiences include the development and execution of Grey Ghost Precision’s premier rifles, the S-Series Heavy and Light, under the partnership of then-Mega Arms (now ZEV Technologies).

“It’s an honor to be aligned with such strong, brand with Grey Ghost Precision,” Curns said. “Within the team at GGP, there is such a strong, collective passion that mirrored my own personal ethos. One that was not just for the products, but for the end-users. The primary focus is to connect with the consumers on a level that most manufacturers cannot, because they don’t try to establish that relationship of trust and reliability. Through this passion and strategy we can continue to grow the GGP brand and set ourselves further apart from the field.”

Grey Ghost Precision Announces 6.5 Creedmoor to Catalog of Precision Rifles

Tuesday, September 26th, 2017

Lakewood, WA – Grey Ghost Precision, leading manufacturers of accurate, reliable, and attainable weapon systems, is excited to announce a new caliber to their series of rifles— the increasingly popular 6.5mm Creedmoor, or to their family and friends, “The Grim.”

The Grim, as is the case with all the Grey Ghost Rifles, is built on the powerful Grey Ghost Precision 7075-T651 billet – for both the upper and ambi-lower receiver set. After being cut, they are True Black Type III Mil Spec Hard Coat Anodized, with additional cerakoting options available.

The handguard is available in the KeyMod and the new M-LOK hand guard systems, a Magpul Gen3 PRS Stock and a Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas block.

The Grim comes with a CMC Curved or Flat Trigger, with the option to choose Geissele SSA-E with a $160.00 up-charge. The barrel is a 22” Proof Research Stainless barrel with a 1:8 twist.

“This particular caliber is the fastest growing caliber for tactical shooters, and is a great section for medium to long range (500 to 1,000 yds.) shooting,” stated Grey Ghost CEO, Casey Ingels. “Ballistically speaking, when compared to other rifles in the PRS circuit, like the .308, the 6.5 Creedmoor outperforms, with a noticeable reduction in recoil.”

Grey Ghost spends no time, wasted on production – partnering with only the best in the industry, to ensure that every product that goes out the door is worthy of it’s name. Maintaining that realm of excellence, the Grim was in production for nearly two years. What you get, is a competition-ready rifle, as soon as it comes out of the box.

“Originally developed to be based closely to that of our popular S-Heavy, the Grim needed some outside expertise in order to truly be perfect,” stated GGP Director of Business Development, Lindsey Lea. “We sent the original design over to Jim Staley and the team at Deliberate Dynamics, who helped to spec everything (trigger, buffer, gas block) and ensure that everything ran as it should. Once we had the rifle dialed in, I got in touch with Scott Satterlee (as he’s pretty much a legend). His initial response was “I LOVE IT”, but requested an upgraded PROOF barrel with an extended gas system. Adding that barrel alleviated any remaining minor issues we were having with the gun.”

The Grey Ghost Precision Grim is available now for order. Visit www.greyghostprecision.com for more details.

Grey Ghost Precision Announces Strategic Partnership with Aero Precision

Monday, July 17th, 2017

Lakewood, WA and Seattle, WA – Grey Ghost Precision, leading manufacturers of accurate, reliable, and attainable weapon systems, is excited to announce a strategic partnership with Aero Precision, an industry leader in high-volume manufacturing of firearms components.

The partnership will allow GGP’s current GLOCK line of components to leap to the next level, in utilizing Aero’s manufacturing abilities and expertise, as well as their distribution channels to help reach the end-users without the commonly found long lead times. GGP’s products can be in your hands faster and without compromising the quality both companies are best known for.

Combining the minds at both Grey Ghost Precision and Aero Precision creates a fully in-house solution in the manufacturing of the Grey Ghost Precision’s entire weapon system lines, for a complete service OEM production. This manufacturing capability will allow for the GGP customer to bypass the extended waiting periods before they are able to receive their GGP orders.

Customers will soon begin to see the two companies collaborating on the GGP line of slides, introduced at SHOT Show in Las Vegas. GGP’s slides are available in two different machine patterns for the G19 and G17, as well as the option of with or without an RMR optic cut.

“We are incredibly excited about what this partnership brings to the market,” stated Grey Ghost Precision CEO, Casey Ingels. “Both of our brands are focused on top tier products and our customers are of the upmost priority. We wanted to align ourselves with a company who shared our same values, and work ethic – the fact that they come from the Pacific NorthWest only further cemented their place in our hearts.”

Aero Precision is well known in the industry for high quality design with a strict production values, quality control measures of the highest order and an incredible work ethic. The combination of the two entities not only promises the best in quality but an unparalleled composition of innovation, drive and perfection.

Both GGP and Aero take the satisfaction very seriously, making it a point to remain relevant to each of their customers by being in constant contact with them. Relying on end-user feedback is the most important aspect in design and manufacturing – and both companies have demonstrated how imperative it is to know and live that credo.

“We are incredibly end-user focused; and with several of our products currently being deployed with teams in combat, our focus on the feedback from those who put themselves into harms way is the most imperative,” stated Ingels.

The partnership of these two awesome teams not only promises to bring new products to the market, but ensure that each product that goes out the door is to the ultimate end-user satisfaction and perfection.

Grey Ghost Precision Custom GLOCK Slide Review by B Brabant

Thursday, July 6th, 2017

For anyone who owns a GLOCK19, they’ll be among the first to tell you that it’s a pretty great pistol right out of the box. Arguably one of the most simple, reliable, accurate and reasonably priced, the GLOCK has been at the top of the pistol market for the bulk of recent history.

GLOCK makes no bones about the fact that they stay true to who they are – even down to the aesthetic of their products. There’s no mistaking what a GLOCK looks, acts and feels like.

That being said, even the most classic models can stand to upgrade. Personally speaking, GLOCK’s triggers aren’t my favorite, the barrels aren’t “match-grade” and the slides are about as exciting as ramen noodles without that spice packet.

Fortunately, the market is becoming more populated with custom-houses who specialize in making GLOCK’s look…well, awesome. However, in order to get this customized look, you have to send your pistol in, wait forever and spend a King’s ransom to get your stock slide machined. Although you achieve ‘cool’ factor, the function and accuracy of your GLOCK is not always increased.

Enter Grey Ghost Precision. Traditionally known for their top-tier rifles, the folks at GGP introduced us to their new line of GLOCK slides while at SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

Few companies have been able to successfully make the step as seamlessly as Grey Ghost Gear – and their expansion into the firearms world. The company, which is best known for its gear, garments and packs, launched itself headfirst into what is seen as an already crowded market. The first three rifles that came out of the firearms entity, Grey Ghost Precision, were nothing short of awesome – and anyone who knows the team at Grey Ghost would know, they weren’t satisfied with stopping there.

Grey Ghost has continued it’s clear focus on the end user, creating a thoroughly tested and combat proven product that focuses on quality and affordability. Additionally, they have made the product available and attainable to ‘us guys’ that can’t really afford the ‘gucci’ bedazzled products and made the products attainable. Tightening up the tolerances and using better materials has really made a difference.

The increase in popularity in handgun modifications also increased turn-around time for many mod-shops. Realizing this ever-growing delay in the process, the team knew they had to come up with a better solution. Never compromising on performance, Grey Ghost turned their heads in the direction of pistol modifications – from slides to barrels, and boy, are they sweet!

Grey Ghost has worked hard to maintain a reputation in the industry that is second-to-none when it comes to class, work ethic, quality and innovation. The team not only brings new products to the market on a consistent basis (typically ALL products go to combat before they are available), but they ensure that each product that goes out the door is worthy to carry the brand’s name.

Grey Ghost takes a different approach to GLOCK modification however, as they manufacture their slides in-house! Made from17-4 billet stainless steel, allowing for tighter tolerances than a factory slide, GGP manufacturers an entirely new slide for your GLOCK right on the premises.

To ensure user-satisfaction and ultimate perfection, Grey Ghost deploys their products into the hands of trusted industry partners and professionals. The team relies on their feedback as an invaluable ingredient in improving every product, and ensuring they are exactly what their customers want to carry. Taking every review and critique, in conjunction with thoughts from Special Forces teams and instructors, Law Enforcement, competition shooters and hardcore hunters, the product you will see come out of the box will be the result of legitimate evaluations and honest feedback. These slides are available in two different slide machine patterns for both G19 and G17 sizes, as well as the option of with or without an RMR optic cut.

BB-G19-03

At their 2017 launch, the slides are initially available as stripped (ready to go after installing internals, sights and barrel) and only costing $424 – so not only are they badass, and driven by feedback from their end-users (just as is the case with all of their products that come out the door), but they’re also affordable and attainable.

I was given the opportunity to test out one of GGP’s GLOCK Gen4 slides, and walked away from the range, right into my place in line – ready to order my own.

The slide arrives in an intriguing black box marked with a minimalistic line drawing of the slide design, with the ominous skull of the company logo on the side. It doesn’t scream at you – it’s subtle.

Upon opening the box, however, an entirely new tune is sung. The slide comes with a manual depicting the RMR slide plate and mounting screws, and the lifetime warranty information. Perfectly presented and ready to go!

Initial Impressions:

The GGP G19 V1 RMR Slide looked and felt great. Immediately I could tell that the top and side serrations would make gripping and charging the pistol instantly easier; and the rear serrations were cut deep enough to effortlessly power stroke the weapon, without fear of my hand slipping off. It was also already cut to be RMR ready, and an intricately designed plate made the slide look not only intimidating, but statuesque.

BB-G19-01

I quickly installed the slide onto a stock Gen4 frame and began to dry-fire, racking the slide from both the front and the serrations. The deep-cut groves in the metal seemed to bond directly to my hands, adding a degree of confidence every shooter can appreciate. The slide exterior was Black Nitride coated, offering years of protection against corrosion and abuse. Adding this slide only made the GLOCK feel more comfortable to handle. Once the initial lust for this elegant piece of machinery wore off (and I took a break to go to the store and bought more ammo), I knew it was time to actually put it to work and rip as many rounds through it as my trigger finger could handle.

Range Time:

Let’s be honest, there are a lot of pretty looking guns on the market – guns that just catch your eye. Those fancy guns are a total waste of time, money and effort if the gun doesn’t shoot or improve performance! So I put it through the paces at the range.

481628D0145B4224B1B2EAF7B4EA073F

Running drills at 5, 10, 15 and 25m, I started with the stock GLOCK, with American Eagle 115gr FMJ ammo, to make sure I had established a base line to judge the GGP Slide from. Adding drills with multiple target indexing, reloads and dummy rounds would ensure I would have to rack the slide a truck load of times.

I incorporated shot clocks and standard 25m bull’s-eye targets, so that I would be able get extra data to compare and to test the accuracy and performance in stress shoot situations.

The next day, I set up to perform the same drills I did the day earlier. Using the same ammo, but now the GGP slide took the place of the standard issued stock slide.

63654A646BA14D0ABD3B6C823FD03A7B

I immediately found it was easy to clear dummy rounds faster, thanks to the serrations, and the ease in sending the slide forward by power stroking it.

I also discovered that having the Grey Ghost match grade barrel, I recorded a better distance score than that from the previous day – shaving seconds off non-dominant hand reloads and failure to fire drills were a huge plus. From my understanding, both the barrel and slide from Grey Ghost Precision were manufactured with tighter tolerances to achieve better harmonics and lockup with each other, while retaining complete compatibility with a stock lower frame. I was told the average accuracy increase was over 30% from a stock slide and barrel.

IMG_1451.JPG

To verify the accuracy improvement, I setup a pseudo “Pepsi Challenge” using identical targets side by side at a range of 10 meters. For the test, I put 10 rounds of Winchester 115gr FMJ on the left target using a completely stock Glock 19 Gen4. Next, I swapped the slide for the Grey Ghost Precision with a GGP barrel and shot the right target using the same ammo, keeping the same stance, trigger squeeze, and cadence across the board. I performed this test 5 times over, keeping every step consistent. The results for each test were also consistent, with the GGP slide and barrel combo drastically tightening the shot group on target.

Conclusions:

I firmly believe if you buy anything for a weapons system, it should increase your accuracy, make the weapon more efficient to use or increase your ability to employ that weapon. The Grey Ghost Precision slide easily puts a check in the box of all three of these categories.

B087D34C5FE7413792FA5D7653D3C8BA

I will be purchasing one not only for EDC but also for competitive shooting. I not only look forward to the release of these slides to the public for everyone to enjoy, but selfishly, I’d like people to quit asking to shoot mine.

The Grey Ghost slide enhances the GLOCK 19, making it an effortless to use, easy to look at and affordable firearm. There is no need for me to purchase stock GLOCK’s anymore – I’ll be buying 80% lowers and doing builds with these slides from now on. And with them being manufactured in-house, in the US, you can’t go wrong with this set-up!

Grey Ghost Precision Team Shooter Jeremiah Futch, Secures Top Placement at Multi-Gun Nationals

Tuesday, June 20th, 2017

June 15, 2017 – Grey Ghost Precision is proud to announce team shooter, Jeremiah Futch’s placement of 23rd in the Tactical Division at the 2017 USPSA Muti-Gun Nationals held April 14-16th, in Boulder City, NV.

This was the second Nationals for Futch, a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces with multiple combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and proven track record of leadership. He is currently the Head Shooting Instructor for the 1st Special Forces Group (A) and a valued member of the Grey Ghost shooting team.

Each of the firearms that Futch runs during the competitions has been manufactured or modified by the team at Grey Ghost Precision. Choosing to run the Grey Ghost Precision Light (5.56), with an 18″ barrel for his rifle during the competitions, Futch’s rifle choice isn’t the most common in the 3-Gun arena.

“My rifle is by far my best of the 3 guns I have. I also use a Remington Versa Max shotgun that has been customized by the GGP machinist shop, and a GLOCK24 with a 9mm conversion barrel that has also been tailored by the same team. Needless to say, the team at GGP is one that I trust completely.”

Futch is one of several active duty, Special Operations Military members the team at Grey Ghost entrusts their firearms with, to provide honest and real feedback.

With a number of prototypes in the hands of trusted industry partners and professionals, from Special Forces teams and instructors, Law Enforcement, competition shooters and hardcore hunters, Grey Ghost isn’t one of those companies who asks for help and then decide they’re going to do it their way anyway. The team takes every ounce of feedback, in conjunction with design and engineering, and the product you see come out of the box will be the result of legitimate evaluations and honest opinion.

“We make it a point to remain relevant to our customers by being in constant contact with them,” stated GW Ayers, Vice President of GGP. “Feedback is the most important aspect in design and manufacturing – and we realize how imperative it is to humble ourselves to know that. We are incredibly end-user focused; and with several of our products currently being deployed with teams in combat, our focus on the feedback from those who put themselves into harms way is the most imperative.”

Grey Ghost has worked hard to maintain a reputation in the industry that is second-to-none when it comes to class, work ethic and innovation. The team not only brings new products to the market on a consistent basis (they were among the first to introduce a new line of .308 at SHOT 2 years ago), but they ensure that each product that goes out the door is to the ultimate end-user satisfaction and perfection.

Futch, who trains year-round, returned from a deployment in the Philippines just 30-days before the match, and pushed hard in training to make up for lost time with the Grey Ghost rifle. Spending nearly 90 minutes, 6 days-a-week leading up to the match, Futch and his Grey Ghost rifled proved that the nothing can stop you if you train hard enough.

“Have Jeremiah as part of the Grey Ghost team is not only an honor, but is a truly imperative ingredient to how we as a company operate,” stated Casey Ingles, CEO of GGP. “Without professionals such as Jeremiah, we wouldn’t be able to produce the products we do, and be able to provide those who use them, the confidence to know they will operate when needed.

Jeremiah Futch is the Head Combat Marksmanship Instructor for 1st Special Forces Group’s (Airborne) Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Committee. He is a professionally sponsored shooter competing in USPSA, Multi-gun and 3 Gun competitions. Futch consistently places in the top 50 at multiple National Championships, and is currently the USPSA Washington State Champion in Carry Optics Division. His title sponsors include Grey Ghost Precision, Blade-tech, Vortex Optics and Rainier Ballistics.
