Panteao Launches IndieGoGo Campaign For Alexander’s Bridge Independent Film Project

Monday, March 3rd, 2014

Bridge_Banner_2_Medium

Columbia, SC, March 3, 2014 – Panteao Pictures announces the launch of an IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign for the upcoming independent film, Alexander’s Bridge.

Alexander’s Bridge is a science fiction/action film about an elite team of US Army Delta Force Operators accidentally sent back 150 years to the middle of the Civil War. Finding themselves where a battle is about to take place and where thousands of Federal and Confederate soldiers will be killed or wounded, they must decide what to do. Can they make a difference? Who will they try to help? Will they get back home?

Alexander’s Bridge is not a film with a political agenda. It portrays both sides of the battle in a neutral a manner. It is a story about the soldiers themselves having to work together, similar to Band of Brothers.

Filming of key footage for Alexander’s Bridge was already completed during the recent 150th anniversary reenactment of the Battle of Chickamauga where thousands of reenactors took to the field. To add to the quality of the production, Panteao chose to film Alexander’s Bridge in digital 4K resolution, a much higher video quality over films shot in HD or 2K resolution. Behind the scenes footage is also being shot while the movie is made with interviews with the cast, crew, and reenactors.

Panteao has gone to great lengths to keep the level of authenticity of the film as high as possible by working closely with retired military personnel and Civil War reenactors. In addition to subject matter experts, companies like TNVC, MSA, Velocity Systems, Safariland, Hatch, Twin Industries Water Transfer, Henry Repeating Arms, EOTech, Viking Tactics, Tango Down, Surefire, Nightforce, Gerber, Remington, Advanced Armament, Smith & Wesson, Winkler Knives, SOD, SUUNTO, and Salomon have all stepped up to help Panteao with making sure the gear used in the film is spot on in accuracy.

Panteao has been self-funding Alexander’s Bridge, already having filmed key scenes for the movie and is commencing the remainder of filming in September. In an effort to not cut corners or compromise on the quality of the film, Panteao has turned to crowd-funding via IndieGoGo in order to raise additional funds for the project. Every penny raised from the campaign will be spent on the production of the film. Supporters of the campaign will receive items ranging from PDF copies of the script to movie t-shirts, posters, challenge coins, DVD of the movie, and even a chance to visit the set and be in the film.

CFF Introduces Force Multiplier Giveaways For Their Expeditionary Production Facility Indiegogo Campaign

Wednesday, October 30th, 2013

KOTA Longboards carves with Combat Flip Flops from KOTA Longboards on Vimeo.

We recently mentioned the Combat Flip Flops Expeditionary Production Facility Indiegogo Campaign. Rather than hit up a bank to raise funds for this endeavor, CFF went the crowdfunding route. There are a couple of reasons they took this course of action. One is, believe it or not, because they “only need $500k”. It might sound like a lot of money but banks generally look at this amount as sitting in this deadzone below $1 Million that they won’t loan to small businesses. Often, they’ll tell you to hit up a relative. Additionally, once you read about the project, you realize that it is perfect for crowdfunding. It’s meant to help a fragile economy and that fits in that philanthropic mindset that created crowdfunding in the first place. I know many of you harbor a resentment toward Afghanistan and her people. But it’s never going to get better if some stability isn’t introduced into the mix. One way to do that is economically. That’s where this project comes in.

As for the amount of $500,000? There are folks who consider this a lot of money, and it is. And many are concerned that the amount is padded imagining some kind of wild lifestyle going on at CFF. I know these guys, despite this world traveler aura that they project, the reality is less playboy and more surf bum. If you’ve got any questions about the budget, by all means please go visit the page on Indiegogo. There is a great graphic that breaks it all down.

SOG Micron

If altruism isn’t doing it for you, CFF is introducing Force Multiplier Giveaways for their fundraising campaign and SOG Knives is their first partner. They’re donating 100 Micron knives to the campaign. Starting NOW, the next 100 donors of any value get a SOG Micron added as a perk once the project is successfully funded. How about that?

Head on over and help them out.

Combat Flip Flops Expeditionary Production Facility – Indiegogo Campaign

Sunday, October 20th, 2013

Combat Flip Flops is currently hosting a crowdfunding effort on Indiegogo. They are looking to raise enough dough to build and set up their Expeditionary Production Facility in Afghanistan. The Expeditionary Production Facility, or EPF, is a flip flop factory in a 40′ shipping container that can be delivered and set up to quickly establish a manufacturing facility in an area. The total cost for building the facility, shipping it to and constructing it in Afghanistan, hiring and training workers, purchasing raw materials for one year of production, and other expenditures is $500,000. They’ve even outlined the distribution of their funding requirements:

Fully funded, Combat Flip Flops’ EPF will provide:

  • Employment for 25 Afghans to manage and run the EPF
  • Employment for five Americans on the CFF Staff
  • 60,000 new pairs of flip flops, made in Afghanistan
  • Additionally, if this comes off, Combat Flip Flops will become the #1 footwear and #1 textile exporter of Afghanistan. Donate and/or spread the word, if you can and get in on some cool rewards.

H2gO: Quest to Create the Best Personal Water Purifier

    Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

Indiegogo is featuring a new project; H2gO: Quest to Create the Best Personal Water Purifier. The project’s goal is pretty impressive. They seek to “create the world’s smallest, easiest, and most cost-effective water purifier for individuals and small groups, both in developed and developing nations.”

    h2go

You may have heard of the MSR Miox filter which, like the H2gO filter, uses electrolysis to process a salt brine solution to create a chlorine-based disinfectant. In fact, the H2gO Purifier can produce enough disinfectant to treat anywhere from ¼ gallon up to 5 gallons at a time (1 to 20 liters) in less than 3 minutes and will treat more than 40,000 gallons (150,000 liters) of water over its lifespan. What’s more, the disinfectant can be used for other purposes than purifying water such as washing food as well as sanitizing containers and other food prep areas.

    Comparisonsummarytable h2go

As you know, one of the greatest challenges facing those in developing nations is access to clean water. H2gO has partnered with Safe Water International to help identify communities in need and this palm-sized device (H2gO Purifier) is the first of many planned for use for everything from individuals up to whole communities. One important component that has been added to this technology is a solar panel to ensure it will work no matter whether or not you have access to electricity.
