Velocity Systems and Mayflower Research & Consulting Combine Forces

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Remember the old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials, “Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together”? Well, that’s exactly what has happened here. They’ve been working together for some time and finally decided to make it official.

Velocity Systems has acquired a minority share of Mayflower Research & Consulting, LLC. This acquisition will strengthen their ability to bring high-quality tactical gear to their extremely valued customers. Velocity Systems and Mayflower R&C have had a long-term friendship and a strong professional relationship which has led Velocity Systems to manufacture Mayflower products for the past several years and for them to collaboratively develop products together. The Velocity Systems patent pending SwiftClip® system, which is available on all Velocity and Mayflower vests, allows all of their auxiliary equipment to fit on all platforms, armor vests and plate carriers.

The synergy achieved by this acquisition will result in cutting edge highly-compatible products for the Warfighter. The compatibility and scalability of their products is second to none. Many of their valued customers are already utilizing this compatibility and their goal is to bring you much more of this in the near future. If you look at what they have already achieved together, just imagine what lay ahead. In fact, look for several new product releases from both Velocity Systems and Mayflower in the near future.

Mayflower Bringing Back Direct Sales 1 April

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Trying to decide what to do with that end of month pay check? We’ve got a great suggestion; buy some of that Mayflower kit that has been out of stock everywhere. If you are game, you’ll have your chance starting 1 April, 2011 when Mayflower, listening to overwhelming customer requests, brings direct retail sales back to their site. They’ll still support their full dealer network, but this gives consumers the opportunity to purchase products that are normally stocked at retailers.

You might be thinking that it has been awhile since you’ve seen anything new from Mayflower but rest assured, they have been working on specialized kit for certain clients as well as refining their current line. In fact, versions of some of those special projects will start migrating to the mainstream soon. In the near-term, Mayflower has converted all of their chest rigs to hybrid configurations featuring their Swiftclips. They can be used with a removable H harness shoulder strap or attached directly to Velocity Systems armor systems. For example, the 5.56 rig above is one of the new hybrid configurations.

Both Mayflower and Velocity Systems gear are Berry compliant. www.mayflower-rc.org

SKD Announces Special Offer on Mayflower’s Assault Plate Carrier

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

SKD has announced a great deal on the recently released Assault Panel Carrier (APC) from Mayflower Research and Consulting. For the next two weeks, SKD will offer the APC for $195 after which the price will rise to $210. As with all Mayflower products, the APC is designed based on real-world experience.

The upper front of the APC contains an integral admin pouch with internal elastic loops to retain pens, pencils, chemlites or similar items. Additionally, the front lower half of the APC has an integrated pouch sized to hold up to three M4 sized magazines. The shoulder pads are 3D mesh for comfort and feature a Velcro routing channel for cable and drinking tubes.

The APC is supplied with Mayflower’s standard PALS compatible cummerbund designed to accept 6″x 6″ hard armor plates or side soft armor. What makes the APC really interesting is that it is also compatible with Mayflower’s suite of modular cummerbunds. The APC is available in two sizes; S/M and L/XL with three cummerbund options. The S/M is available with either a small or medium cummerbund while the L/XL is available with either a medium or large cummerbund. The plate pockets are sized to accommodate stand alone or in-conjunction BALCs/ESAPI or Swimmer cut plates. The S/M APC will fit small, medium and 10″x12″ sized plates. The L/XL APC will fit large and extra-large plates. So, these options give the wearer a great deal of customization in regard to sizing.

Berry compliant and made from 500D Cordura, the APC is available in Black, Coyote, and MultiCam. To order, visit www.skdtac.com. Be sure to check out Military Morons’ review of the APC.
