Dueck Defense Rapid Transition Sights Available In Three Flavors

Monday, February 16th, 2015

Designed by Barry Dueck and available through SureFire, the Rapid Transition Sights are now available in three different configurations.

Based in the M16A2 rear and front sight pair, the RTS mount to a Picatinny rail. They present at a 45 degree angle so that you can roll off of your telescopic optic to use the RTS as a backup sight or for close in targets.

In addition to the original model, there is a version with tritium inserts as well as a fiber optic insert. The tritium version incorporates a larger dot at the front sight and two smaller tritium dots on rear sight for easy alignment in low-light conditions. The fiber optic model includes front sight in red, green, or yellow.

The newest version of the wrist mounted 2211-series of lights is a lower cost alternative that its predecessors. It relies on an easily swappable, single CR123A to offer 150 lumens at 1.5 hours or 15 lumens at 13 hours. It uses a lightweight polymer body and offers a wide beam. Push button switching at the top of the light gives max power with momentary touch or if you hold it down the light switches to low power mode.

Fighter Design USA – Texas Mag Bags

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

I ran into Fighter Design USA’s head man Adam Slank while walking the SHOT Show floor. Every time I see him, he’s got some cool new product. I noticed he was carrying a nylon bag over his shoulder. Not unusual for SHOT Show, but he sat this one in the ground and said, “Got a minute? I’ve got something to show you.”

(null)

He pulled back on the handles and the flap came open and I muttered something like, “oh, wow! That’s a lot of magazines.” Adam didn’t miss a beat, replying, “Of course there are, it’s a Texas Mag Bag.”

(null)

Offered in both 12 pack and 6 pack (seen below) configurations, the Texas Mag Bags from Fighter Design USA give you quick access to your magazines. A single flap secures with Fighter Design USA’s signature magnets along with dual zippers on a single pull. You simply give it a pull and voila; magazines…lots of loaded, high capacity magazines each nestled into its own slot.

Texas Mag Bags come fully kitted out with the appropriate number of SureFire 60 rd magazines.

SHOT Show – SureFire Blast Diffuser Coming Soon

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

IMG_8336.JPG

This the SureFire 5.56mm Blast Diffuser unveiled at last week’s SHOT Show. It adapts to a SF SOCOM muzzle brake / suppressor adapters and pushes the concussion of the muzzle brake forward, away from the shooter and those next to him. Because of this attachment, it does kind of resemble a miniature suppressor, but it’s not.

This is the prototype that was at SHOT Show. Everyone wanted it. I understand they had a cash offer of $600 to sell it, right there at the show. It is now in production and will be available soon.

Vickers Tactical released this video showcasing some new SureFire products including the Blast Diffuser. LAV is interviewing Jamie Wiedeman. They served together in the same Army unit for many years.

SHOT Show – SureFire Suppressors

Tuesday, January 20th, 2015

IMG_1317.JPG

Got to take a look at the new SureFire GLOCK barrels made by ZEV Technologies. These threaded barrels are DLC coated and threaded for use with a suppressor.

This is the new Genesis-762 suppressor. Intended for the hunting market, it’s a screw-on (5/8-24) 7.62mm model. I shot the QD version last Spring during a hog hunt in Texas. Like other SureFire SOCOM suppressors, these offer minimum point of impact shift and are factory tested to <1MOA shift and <1MOA Group. Additionally, they offer 99% elimination of first-round flash. image
