Through The Looking Glass With HyperStealth

Monday, July 18th, 2011

There’s been little written about HyperStealth Biotechnology Corp’s new Quantum Stealth technology. Thanks to HyperStealth, I have seen a large number of photos in addition to the two that they gave me to share with you. It’s important to note that these are mock ups specifically for use in the media to give you an idea of what the technology accomplishes. Don’t mind the hexagons, those are there to throw you off the trail. The actual technology looks a little bit different when in use.

The ultimate question you are going to ask me is, “Does it work?” My answer is a simple, “Yes,” but I have to say that it still needs some work. While HyperStealth’s Guy Cramer hasn’t made any claims that it’s quite ready for the battlefield yet, it sure does warrant further development. I’m not sure exactly how it works but I’ve got a real good idea and I have to say that simplicity is key to the success of concepts like this. I’m not going to share my specific observations because this is their idea but I will say that it is a passive technology. Sharing too much might put their IP at risk or worse yet, give the bad guys a notion of how to do it as well.

Support Sarah’s Run Across America

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

A friend recently told us about a great young lady named Sarah who has decided to run across America in honor of our military heroes. It seems that her dad and my friend had lost a close colleague named Robert L. Shultis (SBPD) years ago while on duty. Having recently graduated from the University of Redlands in California, she felt it was time to honor our fallen.

Here is a link to Sarah’s Remembering our Hero’s blog. Her dad is also traveling with her on this 4 month journey starting July 24th from Southern California, (but he will be in a trailer!)

If any of you would like to add a fallen heroes name and their association to her blog, that is all Sarah is requesting. She can be emailed at sarahmemoto@gmail.com

Please keep Sarah in mind over the next several months as she travels across America for all our brave men and women in uniform fallen and present.

Blood-Type Markers

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

Hazard 4 recently introduced their new blood-type markers after learning about military personnel marking their blood types on their boot heels or lacing dog tags into their bootlaces. Rather, these 3-d injection-molded rubber markers, won’t wear off like markers and won’ become secondary projectiles in an IED event. In addition to the bootlace application you see above, they can also be used for bracelets, or as zipper pulls. Available in Black/Grey, Coyote, OD Green, and Glow-in-Dark.

RB1 Combat Pistol Sights

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

Redback One’s custom designed Combat Pistol Sights are now in production and should be ready in a few weeks. At first they’ll only be available for Glock model handguns but they may add other pistols based upon demand.

According to RB1, they have been working on these sights over several months of T&E to find the perfect match of height, width and depth to produce a pair of combat sights that shoot Point Of Aim/Point Of Impact at all ranges out to 100m. They are being produced by 10-8 Performance who have a great reputation for producing quality sights.

Interested parties should contact RB1 to reserve theirs.

Softec Throw Blanket

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

I was recently in Bed Bath & Beyond buying towels and this cool fleece throw blanket caught my eye. I picked one up and it is comfy and think it would be a good choice for folks heading down range considering the price (14.99) and materials (Polartec® Softecâ„¢). Yes, it’s SO comfy I am writing an article about it. Finally, it’s a generous 50″ W x 70″ L and available in Linen (tan) and Bark (Brown).
