Revision Wins Exclusive Contract To Supply Swiss Armed Forces With Sawfly Spectacle

Thursday, August 22nd, 2013

Revision Military, a world leader in protective soldier solutions, proudly announces a 5-year contract to supply the Swiss Armed Forces with its protective eyewear needs. Following extensive user trials and meeting stringent performance requirements, Revision’s Sawfly Eyewear was selected as the all-purpose ballistic spectacle of choice. Beginning January 2014, it will become the standard issue spectacle to all Swiss troops—to the tune of 290,000 Sawfly Military Eyewear kits plus additional accessories. This is Revision’s second eyewear contract with the Swiss Armed forces; in 2008 they were awarded a contract to supply 10,000 Desert Locust Military Goggles.

“Revision is proud to have been selected as the key supplier for the Swiss military’s protective eyewear needs,” States Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision, “With this contract Switzerland joins the short list of countries that have made ballistic eye protection a priority for their soldiers and recognize that by recommending eye protection as an everyday item—like boots and helmets—soldier familiarity with the equipment once on the battlefield is ensured.”

In addition to Switzerland Revision exclusively supplies German, Canadian, British, Dutch, Belgian and Danish forces with their protective eyewear needs. The Revision Sawfly continues to be the most widely issued military spectacle amongst NATO nations, dominating the ballistic protective eyewear landscape worldwide.

The Sawfly Eyewear System features a lightweight frame, communications equipment-compatible arms and interchangeable ballistic protective lenses. It’s also prescription capable with Revision’s Rx Carrier, 95,000 of which were also included in this contract award. The Sawfly Spectacle provides superior ballistic protection, exceeding EN 166 and military ballistic impact requirements (MIL-PRF-31013, clause 3.5.1.1 and MIL-DTL-43511D, clause 3.5.10); flawless optics for distortion-free vision; and rugged durability to protect and perform through all the rigors of combat.

Vet Corps Launches First T-shirt

Thursday, August 22nd, 2013

20130822-091356.jpg

Located in a Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, Vets Corps USA has printed its first run of shirts. The veteran generated designs represent the leadership principals of the military and hold to the program’s ethos that Veterans are leaders, not victims. On its surface, the Vets Corps program teaches design, management, silk screening, printing, sewing and assembly, but the underlying goal is to create an environment where veterans build their self-esteem while working to rejoin the society they once defended. All proceeds from the sales of the shirts go back to the program to pay the Vets themselves and for machinery, supplies and instruction. The designs are printed on American made high quality T-shirts. Vets Corps is already taking orders for shirt printing from other non-profit organizations and companies that want to send their print work to a Veteran charity. Contact Deirdre or Jodi at Vets Corps at (310) 202-9007 to receive a quote on T-shirt printing. Vets Corps started as a charity founded by SOTech staff members to incorporate assembly of SOTech medical kits into a vocational therapy program for Veterans giving them a sense of supporting the GWOT. This program expanded into sewing cloth shopping bags to encourage a sense of sewing bags to clean the environment. After a grant of printing equipment, the program was able to incorporate art therapy and industrial print into the program. Watch for new veteran shirt designs coming soon.

Mil-Spec Monkey Logo Spotted In Call Of Duty: Ghosts Footage

Thursday, August 22nd, 2013

This article was featured yesterday on Tactical Fanboy.

Monkey In CoD

I was watching some of the alpha multiplayer footage from Call of Duty: Ghosts and I noticed a very familiar looking logo being used as a player emblem. Specifically, it’s the Mil-Spec Monkey logo, slightly altered to include either some frost or a white beard along the chin. I contacted Monkey directly about spotting this, to get his take on its inclusion in the game. The verdict? While I wasn’t flat out told directly, it doesn’t look like its use was authorized by Monkey himself.

It can be seen in this video around the 1:30 and 1:50 marks.

Got this late last night from TNVC. Looks like a good deal.

FINALLY A Gen 3 Rifle Scope at an Affordable Price! M845 Gen 3’s are here from TNVC!
As many know, we first started selling the M845 Gen 2+ units several years ago. We were simply amazed at the performance of the initial units along with a 2MOA Red Dot was something to behold while shooting on the move. This scope remains the quickest NV scope we’ve used for shooting on the move along with being the most robust units with the housing consisting of machined aluminum and US made!.

During this time, many (and we mean many) have asked for a Gen 3 version of the M845. A whole bunch of you wanted a truly economical Gen 3 scope without breaking the bank. We listened intently and turned wishes into reality. TNVC is now releasing substantial qty’s of units with our name on them. You can be sure we paid attention to the details of these units and the QA that comes along with any gear we release.

These new Gen 3 units are utilizing L3 Commercial spec tubes. Awhile back, these systems got the reputation of being “the best bang for your resolution dollar”, and we sincerely believe the newest line up of Gen 3 M845’s will earn the same reputation.

The M845 Mk.4 2.8x is a low magnification Night Vision Rifle Scope. This awesome scope is a red dot night vision device that allows for extremely fast target acquisition especially because of the 2.8x magnification which offers a generous field of view. It utilizes a new production, U.S.-made Gen3 (L-3 Commercial Spec) Image Intensifier tube. The highly popular Gen2 version of this scope prompted a lot of customers to ask for a Gen3 version. Well, here it is. The crisp Gen3 resolution of these scopes provides generous detail for easy target acquisition. The M845 Mk.4 2.8x is one of the best options for the predator/ hog hunter. It is very intuitive, mounts to Milspec 1913 Picatinny rail, and features a robust, machined aluminum housing. Controls are simple: focus, diopter adjustment, and a single knob that controls power and red dot brightness. These are some of the best value night vision scopes on the market. And now, they are even better!
