Today marks a different anniversary. In the early morning hours of 25 April, 1980 President Carter announced to a stunned world that the United States had undertaken an ambitious raid into Iran to liberate 52 American hostages held illegally at our Embassy in Tehran. Unfortunately, that raid, named Operation Eagle Claw was unsuccessful and we lost 8 American servicemen. Join me in remembering their sacrifice.
But, this failure was the watershed event that created, over the next several decades the world’s preeminent Special Operations capability; USSOCOM and it’s components. We wouldn’t be where are today with the determination of that fledgling task force. Join me in remembering those that paved the way.
I got a chance to check out a prototype of the new Thermal Dry Celliant wetsuit from Excel during last Fall’s Uber University. I was impressed.
Excel has adopted an entirely new next-to-skin material provided by Celliant which offers heat reflective properties; very important for wetsuits. It also helps to mitigate diver fatigue.
In addition to the new material story, Excel also is the exclusive offerer of Crocodile color from Arc’teryx.
These new suits also incorporate design features normally found in surf suits meaning more flexibility for these dive suits. Once again, very helpful for combat divers. Designed to offer quality IED training for those who don’t have access to established IED training lanes, the Platoon-Level IED Training Kit from Inert Products offers tripwire, photo cell, two-way radio, key fob, low metal content pressure plate, mercury switch and trembler switch. Additionally, the kit includes 100′ of wire and several IED mock ups.
The primary training tool is the penalty box that offers strobe or siren alarm and it runs on power from 6-12v.

LBT Inc has been designing and manufacturing specialized medical bags, pouches and packs since the very beginning. Shoot, one of the first pouches I purchased from LBT back in 91 was a medical pouch.
They recently realized that they currently produce over 100 products specifically for medical applications. At that point, they decided to update some of the items, introduce a few new ones and launch an LBT Medical line.

Powered by your choice of CR123 or AA batteries! In steady on mode you’re looking at 40 hours and the strobe mode, expect a light to run for about 200 hours.
The kit also come with tent stakes to hold the lights down.
One other cool feature is that there is a photo electric eye in the light that detects the ambient light level and automatically adjusts the light’s output.
