K-VAR CORP. And ARSENAL, INC. – A Joint Effort Benefiting BSA And NRA

Friday, May 2nd, 2014

This is an announcement from K-VAR Corp and Arsenal, Inc. regarding recent charitable donations that went to benefit the Las Vegas Area Boy Scouts of America as well as the NRA. As a Scouter and NRA Life Member, this is great news.

LAS VEGAS, NV – K-Var Corp. and Arsenal, Inc., have joined together in an effort to give back to our loyal customers and to help educate local groups in gun safety and recreational activities. In the current political climate, we have found that the impact we make outside of the industry is just as important as the impact within. Last month, Arsenal and K-Var joined together once again to donate over twenty-five thousand dollars to the Las Vegas Area Boy Scouts of America in sponsoring the 7th Annual Arsenal Sporting Clays and Scout Steel Challenge. To aid the fundraising efforts of the BSA, several of our firearms were donated for a silent auction to benefit the education of scouts throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

In addition to our local work, K-Var Corp. and Arsenal, Inc., recognize the important and invaluable work being done by our friends at the National Rifle Association. Our donation of a Gold Edition MTK90 Jubilee Rifle to the NRA auctions was recently won for $21,000.00. Those funds can now be used to help fund the firearm education of the general public.

We hope to continue our local and national work to benefit you, our loyal customers and friends, and we also hope that you will do the same. Every donation to the NRA, the FAIR Trade Group, or to other organizations can make a difference for the future.

Based on the previous Striker Combat Shirt, the XT model features a new cut and improvements to comfort and functionality.

The torso is composed of 100% polyester with abrasion-resistant knitware, and the armpit area is composed of a mix of polyester and merino wool for durability, comfort, and odor-inhibition.

UF PRO air/pac inserts in the shoulder area distribute weight and prevent thermal bridges.

The cut of the sleeve and the slide-in elbow pockets have been ergonomically improved so that the wearer will always land on the inserted D3O elbow protection. Large upper arm pockets with Velcro, and forearm pockets with additional phone clasp allow for storage of important items.

SureFire Ryder 22 Suppressor Disassembly Video

Thursday, May 1st, 2014

This video features a quick demonstration of the disassembly of the brand new SureFire Ryder 22 suppressor.

At last December’s SureFire writers event I had a chance to fire and play with the new Ryder 22 suppressor. I shot this quick video to show you how easy it is to disassemble for maintenance. You may notice that the pig-nosed baffle stack is numbered so putting it back together is a snap.

HSGI Launches 2 New TACOs – Extended Pistol Mag and High Capacity Mag

Thursday, May 1st, 2014

Yesterday, I spent the day with Swansboro, NC-based HSGI. Not only did I get to tour their new factory but they put me to work stringing some of their new TACOs. Why would they need me to help out? Because they are launching two new variants today and they wanted to make sure they wouldn’t go on back order. Below, you can see that my hand’s are moving so fast that they are just a blur.

Fast Mover

But seriously, I put one of each together to get an appreciation of how they are manufactured and assembled.

New TACOs

The first is the Extended Pistol Taco® Universal Mag Pouch. Designed to accommodate most extended or high capacity pistol and sub gun magazines as well as large flashlights, collapsible batons and other survival equipment.

Dimensions: 1.75”H x 1.2”W x 6.25”L

HSGI Ext Mag TACO

The next is the High Capacity Magazine TACO. It’s designed to lock large capacity rifle and kalashnikov style shotgun magazines in place. Fits many radios as well.

HSGI HCM TACO
