I love seeing innovative work around for foolish gun laws. Although the Gen 2 AR15 Spade Grip from KNS Precision has been around for awhile, it fits the bill for those who live in areas with firearm feature-focused restrictions. Plus, it looks like a lot of fun.
This newer version of the Spade Grip will fit both semi-auto and full-auto platforms and allows the use of after market enhanced trigger guards and billet receivers which have the trigger guard built in.

CMC Triggers displayed the S1-Wright-12 from R&R Targets. Although it’s a custom built design which has been used for 3-Gun competitions, this magazine fed, semi-auto, 12 ga shotgun is being evaluated by several SOF and LE organizations for breaching use.
I had the opportunity to fire it during Triggrcon Range day and it was quite controllable. If you’re familiar with an AR, you can shoot the S1-Wright-12. It offers the advantage of rapid magazine reloads (12 rounds) and ammunition changes. However, the bolt does not lock to the rear on the last shot like an AR. It was also fitted with a SilencerCo Salvo suppressor and I’m told that those currently evaluating the weapon use suppressed rifles and appreciate its utility.
The charging handle is mounted to the left side of the receiver and the top of the receiver features Mil STD 1913 rail.
The reason CMC Triggers was displaying the gun is that it is equipped with one of their triggers. During development, R&R Targets evaluated triggers from several different triggers, but the CMC AR10 trigger they selected was the only one which could stand up to the repeated hammering of the semi-auto 12 ga.
Look for more info soon. Until then, visit store.randrtargets.com/S1-Wright-12-Wright-12.
I ran into my old friend Clayton aka Mil Spec Monkey at Triggrcon. He’s always got lots of irons on the fire, but this one is almost ready to go.
Based on the success of his first Tanto-style Knife collaboration with KA-BAR, Mil Spec Monkey is introducing a Drop Point version.
The handle was designed for use with a reverse grip as well as offering lots of purchase for the thumb.
It comes with a 550 cord wrapped handle and injection molded sheath. Coming soon from milspecmonkey.com.
It would seem that Outdoor Retailer is the last place I’d learn about a new optics mount. But when you realize it’s now held in Denver, which is just up the road from Fort Carson and it’s tenant, the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), it makes complete sense.
During a reception one evening, a couple of ADS employees told me about a new optics mount called the Multi Use Block. It is manufactured by a company founded by a team of Veteran and Active Duty Soldiers called appropriately enough, The MUB, LLC.
The device itself is multifaceted. First off, both Manfrotto and Arca Swiss attachments are machined into the base, to accommodate the direct attachment for either style of tripod.
Next, you’ll notice a large cavity down the middle of the MUB which facilitates bore sighting. Additionally, either the LaRue spotter Kit or Badger Ordnance SLICK mount will attach directly to the top of the MUB via a Picatinny mount. You’ll also notice a level built into the rear of the base.
What’s more, the MUB will work with a Hog Saddle or RRS Vyce-style gun clamp. The MUB was built tall enough to still work inside a Hog Saddle without the throw levers being hindered by the height of the walls on the Saddle.
PRS competitors have also used the MUB attached to the bottom of their rifle chassis handguard to gain additional purchase on various obstacles.
The MUB may be used with an accessory rail called the Wing which mounts in a perpendicular orientation, offering space for additional target acquisition systems.
MUB is also designed to be a completely tool-less device. The Picatinny rail locking bar can be adjusted without tools and the Wing has 2 x 1/4-20 thumb screws for a tool-less attachment of any sort.
The MUB weighs 14.4 oz with the Wing mounted. Made from 6061 Aluminum, the Wing itself weighs just 5 oz.
Finally, MUB is Made in America of 6061 die cast Aluminum, anodized in Gun Metal Black.

The Hinge Mark II buckle is a product applicable to plater carrier cummerbund. It is made of high strength polymer that can resist a pull of 200kg. Button design remains in this item, allowing the user to more quickly find the position for unlocking in motion or in water and undo the buckle than pull buckles and click buckles do. The demagnetized, anti-corrosion spring inside the buckle makes the item available to underwater environments. The buckle can be opened or closed in the dark with one hand. It is connected to the gear with 1-inch webbing, significantly simplifying the procedure and reducing the use of unnecessary materials.
