Task Force Dagger Thanks SCUBAPRO For Their Support

Tuesday, May 21st, 2019

We received this note from Task Force Dagger regarding support from SSD advertiser SCUBAPRO has provided the organization.

On behalf of the Task Force Dagger Foundation, we wanted to take a moment to express our tremendous gratitude to Scubapro for their incredible support to the foundation and the Rehabilitative Therapy Events we execute. More specifically, the Dagger Dive event in Key West, Florida that puts families in a safe environment to reconnect and heal from deployments, effects from visible and invisible injuries and other challenges. Additionally, they continue to provide critical support to the Joint Recovery Team (JRT) missions comprised of TFDF in partnership with Department of POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and East Carolina Marine Archeology Department (ECU) to FIND, RECOVER and REPATRIATE the remains of US Service Members Missing in Action (MIA) presumed dead from all theaters and conflicts where the United States has operated.

ScubaPro’s support has directly influenced the foundation’s ability to execute these very impactful events, insuring we continue to bring “Mission, Purpose and Focus” to our Special Operations members and their Families.

TFDF Executive Board member Mark Stephens had the honor of meeting up with the ScubaPro team at their annual International Sales meeting and presented some symbols of our deep appreciation for their continued support. Specifically, Joe Stella, President of ScubaPro; Ed Rasmussen, Global Government Manager; and Richelle Pizl, Customer Service Manager………THANK YOU!

A certified non-profit, Task Force Dagger Foundation provides assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) members and their families. We respond to urgent needs, conduct Rehabilitative Therapy Events (RTE), and provide next-generation health solutions for issues facing our service members. We are a rally point to combat traumatic brain injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), and environmental exposures. Our cohesive programs enable families to seize the moment and live life.

Civilian Carry Radio Announces Tatiana Whitlock As New Co-Host For Podcast

Tuesday, May 21st, 2019

Virginia – May 20, 2019, Civilian Carry Radio on the Firearms Radio Network, announced today that Tatiana Whitlock will join one of the fastest growing podcasts on firearms and the 2nd Amendment, effective May 29th, 2019. Civilian Carry Radio show broadcasts weekly on Wednesdays from 8pm to 9:30pm EST.

Tatiana will join the team led by the show’s founders Baraka Ulrich James and Allen Sams. The shows conversational and engaging approach of bridging the span between the everyday gun owner and firearms industry subject matter experts has led to its success and loyal viewership nationwide.

“I am honored to be invited to join Civilian Carry Radio as their new co-host! As a long time fan, and guest on the show believe in its mission that focuses on the importance of the 2nd amendment, firearms safety, education, training and mindset. Contributing to each episode is contributing to a legacy of knowledge and information from each guest we have join us!” Says Whitlock.

The show’s programming and content is also available across various platforms including F irearms Radio Network, iTunes, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Google Play Music, Stitcher, TuneIN, PodBean, On Speaker, Player FM, YouTube and more.

“After meeting Tatiana at SHOT Show in 2013, I watched her grow and progress in the gun and firearms community. I was so impressed with her work ethic and continuously hearing the positive feedback of people who trained with her. After having Tatiana appear as a guest on our show twice, I was overwhelmed by her knowledge, her teaching skills, her delivery and her way of disseminating complex information in a way that is easily digestible to the masses. With Allen and I being civilians (who did not serve in the military, not prior law enforcement) and with Tatiana having a similar background as us, but also putting in the same kind of time, effort, diligence and discipline to go out and learn on her own volition, I had to have her on our team! She is the perfect complement to round up and complete our show. We are honored that she accepted our invitation and look forward to the future with her now on board!”

Says show owner, producer and host Baraka James.

The Design and R&D Team at PDW states:

“This new gen SHADO Pack 24L represents a total refresh of how we approached our nylon soft-goods. We engaged a new manufacturing partner that had far reaching and impressive modern production capabilities, extensive experience in producing top tier technical alpine and mountaineering packs; and also presented us with experimental prototypes [made for a group we are unable to mention by name], which honestly kinda blew our mind. For the first time we were able design a pack from the ground up without constraints. Previous to the SHADO 24, we designed what we wanted, but then based on our previous factory’s limitations, prohibitive costing, and/or inability to grasp our design requirements, became a reductive process of removing features/details. Not this time, not with this pack. Users will be able to see and feel it with the SHADO 24. The quality of make, attention to detail, fully rendered features, made to spec materials from top to bottom, etc; it’s all there. We categorize this as an ‘adventure class pack’. It’s ultimately designed for a user who chooses to engage in a lifestyle that is as multiplied as they are, not subject to limits, and makes their own way.”

The new PDW S.H.A.D.O. Pack 24L will be available for $198.00 on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon PT via their website, prometheusdesignwerx.com.

Wiring The Tactical Vest: SOFIC Debut

Monday, May 20th, 2019

Fischer Connectors continues to protect and defend special operations personnel with the Canadian debut of a new wired tactical vest at CANSEC 2019.  This fully-functional tactical vest on display in booth #525 features Fischer Freedom™ Series connectors sewn into the garment and connected to a distributed data and power bus that handles soldiers’ connectivity needs. The unique connectivity solution cuts weight from the vest while improving functionality.

Integrating a distributed data and power bus into the tactical vest eliminates the need for the external wires or break-out cables that currently weigh soldiers down.

Receptacles sewn into the vest and attached to the bus connect to devices and deliver power and signal, and a single battery pack powers all the devices. Communications gear, sensors, flashlights, cameras, viewfinders, GPS devices, and other essentials can be attached with matching plugs built directly into the device without the use of cables.

This approach to tactical connectivity is part of an overall trend to integrate more wearable technology into military gear to help reduce weight and simplify use.

Wim Vanheertum, Director of Product Management for Fischer Connectors says new connector technology is a critical element of the rapidly expanding market for wired tactical vests. “Rugged, low-profile connector receptacles sewn directly into the fabric and matching plugs built directly into devices can significantly reduce, or even eliminate, the use of cables. The award-winning Fischer Freedom™ Series connector used here has concentric rings on the receptacle that allow for 360° mating freedom, and a plug with a sealed membrane that protects the contact block with an IP68 rating.”

According to Vanheertum, sensors can be built into plugs, or plugs can be engineered directly into devices to eliminate cables entirely. The low-profile plug can also be cabled for communications gear and other devices such as cameras and video screens.

Several companies have already started building vests, devices, and sensors based on these concepts, and are testing them in multiple countries.

A SNEAK Preview of the smaller four-pin plastic version of the Fischer Freedom™ Series is available at SOFIC.. Please stop by to take a look at this unique connector series.
