Magpul Enters Shooting Brace Market – Announces Two Models

Thursday, January 16th, 2020

In a surprise move, Magpul announces two shooting braces, the BSL and BTR.

In the case of both models, they are compatible with Mil-Spec carbine receiver extension equipped AR Pistols. They are not compatible with proprietary, pistol, or commercial receiver extensions.

Don’t forget, all ATF, NFA, state and local rules and laws apply, where applicable, which brings us to another point.

No, there isn’t an ATF letter and there won’t be one. BATFE no longer issues letters for individual accessories, having changed their policy to only examine complete firearms to determine whether they meet current regulations. As with any firearm accessory, it’s up to the manufacturer and user to properly use the braces.

BSL

Features:
• Designed and intended for use as a stabilizing accessory for one-handed firing
• Toolless, single-handed LOP adjustment
• Ambidextrous rear QD cup allows sling tension to be applied while firing with one hand to improve stability
• Compatible with Mil-Spec carbine receiver extensions
• High-strength polymer and metal construction
• M-LOK compatible slots for additional sling mounting options

BTR

Features:
• Designed and intended for use as a stabilizing accessory for one-handed firing
• Toolless, single-handed LOP adjustment
• Ambidextrous rear QD cup allows sling tension to be applied while firing with one hand to improve stability
• Compatible with Mil-Spec carbine receiver extensions
• High-strength polymer and metal constructions

Reactor Technologies Begin Operations Implementing Technology Into Chassis Systems

Thursday, January 16th, 2020

For Immediate Release – Phoenix, AZ – Reactor Technologies begins operations in the development and integration of sophisticated technology into rifle stocks and chassis systems.

Reactor has been founded by industry veteran Ryan McMillan, as a platform to develop and integrate modern technology, into the stock and chassis sector of the industry.  Reactor begins operations with a leadership team of over 25 years of combined experience in gun industry and is set to disrupt the long standing status quo.

Reactor will come to the market with the Fusion Module that integrates technology with compatible chassis systems, in mid January 2020.  Media and industry leaders will be able to see the first production model at Booth #N335 in the NEXT section at Shot Show 2020.

“With advanced technology integrated into every aspect of our lives, we are accustomed to monitoring, sharing, and accessing unlimited data with the touch of a button. One area we haven’t seen great advances in technology integration, as been the firearms industry.   Reactor is about to change that.” Said Ryan McMillan – CEO of Reactor Technologies “We are developing and integrating technology that will revolutionize the way you gather and analyze your shooting data, which will get you on target faster and more consistently than ever before.”

Reactor Technologies is currently seeking collaboration opportunities with stock companies, gun manufacturers, and software developers to integrate this technology throughout the shooting industry. The adaptive nature of the Reactor Fusion Module lends itself to easy integration into existing platforms and will create substantial value for future and existing customers.

See The New TNVC ANVS to BNVD Cable Adapter at SHOT Show 2020 Booth #6502

Thursday, January 16th, 2020

Sands Expo Center, Las Vegas, Nevada — January 16, 2020

Tactical Night Vision Company (TNVC) is excited to introduce the new TNVC ANVS to BNVD Cable Adaptor at the 2020 NSSF SHOT Show Booth #6502. The TNVC ANVS to BNVD Cable Adapter (TNVC-ABCA) allows end users to power night vision devices equipped with a BNVS-style external power connection port such as the L3Harris BNVD-family (AN/PVS-31A, BNVD-1531) or GPNVG using ANVS remote battery packs (LPBP) or other power supplies using the Legacy LEMO connector.

As issued, Legacy ANVS power supplies are not compatible with the BNVS-style connection used on many next generation night vision devices, frustrating users with large numbers of Legacy power supplies already in inventory that cannot be used with their night vision devices. Moreover, the cost of OEM BNVS-style power supplies is often prohibitive if power supplies or cables are lost or damaged or spares are needed.

While many night vision devices have onboard battery capabilities, many end users prefer the extended battery life offered by using external power supplies with their night vision devices, especially in colder weather, while devices such as the GPNVG-18 have no onboard battery capabilities. Furthermore, moving the power supply to the back of the helmet in an external power supply can help to counterweight night vision devices mounted on the front of the helmet, improving user comfort and reducing neck strain and fatigue.

The TNVC-ABCA is also compatible with ruggedized external battery packs such as the LPBP-Ground Optimized (also available from TNVC), which allow end user to use either AA or CR123A batteries, giving them greater flexibility for powering their devices with readily available power cells, and at a much lower cost than the OEM external power supplies.

The TNVC-ABCA was developed in partnership with the OE manufacturer of the BNVS power connector, and features a durable, shielded cable and a rubberized BNVS connector housing and uses authentic OEM connectors rather than aftermarket components. The TNVC-ABCA is available in both 6” and 8” cable lengths to accommodate a wide range of helmet mounting and cable routing configurations (custom cable lengths available via special order).

The TNVC ANVS to BNVS Cable Adapter will retail for $224.95, or with the AB Night Vision LPBP-GO and TNVC Mohawk MK 2 Gen. 2 counterweight/battery pack pouch system for $549.95. Available late-Q1 2020.

Dealer and government/agency pricing available. For all product inquiries or retail or dealer sales, please contact sales@tnvc.com. For military, agency, or government sales, please contact govsales@tnvc.com

New Product From Nightforce Optics For Extreme Long Range Shooters

INTRODUCING THE WEDGE PRISM

Orofino, ID, U.S. – (January 16, 2020) Today, Nightforce Optics released a new product, the Wedge Prism. This new product was created with extreme long range (ELR) shooters in mind. Many of these shooters find that riflescopes lack the necessary elevation travel. The Wedge Prism is a clip-on accessory that mounts to a forward or continuous MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail to increase the effective elevation travel. It optically shifts the incoming image to the riflescope by a precise elevation value, which directly adds to the available elevation travel within any riflescope.

“As shooters continue to push the boundaries of what is possible for target distances, riflescopes are limited in overall adjustment for providing accurate fire,” said Alan Stilwell, Commercial Sales Manager. “Our Wedge Prism works with any riflescope to provide additional aiming offset, allowing successful and repeatable target engagements beyond what a riflescope could do with internal adjustment alone.”

The Wedge Prism provides a repeatable offset of the optical image, yet minimizes the loss of image quality, resolution and clarity. Available as a 50 MOA/14.5 MRAD or 100 MOA/29.1 MRAD variant, the shooter can choose an individual unit or combine models to tailor the amount of additional offset needed to reach their target. The quick-detach lever allows for rapid and repeatable installation and removal in the field, and by attaching to a rail prevents additional stresses on the riflescope.

“With this simple tool, a shooter can easily do the math to configure their rifle to hit their target,” Stilwell added. “For example, if my .416 Barrett requires 124 MOA of drop at 3,000 yards, but my scope will only dial up 90 MOA from zero, adding a 50 MOA Wedge Prism offsets the required dialing and only needs to be dialed up 74 MOA to reach the target and use the center aiming point of the reticle. This same principle works for .22 LRs past 300 yards, subsonic .300 Blackouts at 400 yards or when pushing any other cartridge beyond their normal limits.”

The Wedge Prism is available at $990 USD MSRP, and includes a MOLLE padded carrying case, flip-up lens cap and lens cleaning cloth. The first units will be available in February 2020. For more information on Nightforce Optics and the Wedge Prism, please visit www.nightforceoptics.com.
